Title: Errors
Post by: Moi on February 09, 2007, 10:47:58 PM
Is anyone else getting error messages every time they post?
I'm getting them and not sure it's my puter or something on here.
The posts most times get posted, but you have to load OER again to see if they have been.

Yeah, I've got that a few times.

And I'm also getting the "Warning - while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post." message everytime I post and I know I haven't double clicked or anything  :-\

I'm getting them too. Have been the last few days but I thought it was only me and my dodgy dial-up connection on this computer. I'll contact our host and include your posts Moi and Steph. Can you guys give a time/day it's been happening and for how long so I can tell our host.

Yes, i got the double warning as well.  I was getting that a lot when i was using my WIFI connection when I was on holidays.  In the city, it gets 3G but down there was very weak 2G.  So I thought that's why it was happening.  But happened again today as well.

The time MT - virtually every time i post.  Will probably happen when I post this as well.

I've been having problems with posting all today.  Also when you go to the previous or next message you often get the internal server error message.
Title: Re: Errors
Post by: Stephanie on February 13, 2007, 12:40:42 PM
I'm still getting the message when I post, saying that someone else just posted... but I don't get them all the time... and I am getting some "internal server error messages" when I go to view the unread posts since my last visit.

Edit: Just got this message "Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later. "
When I tried to go to read a post.

I'll contact our hosts again. They moved the site to a new cluster and asked us to contact them again if the errors continue to happen.

As well as updating the messageboard we've changed the PHP version from 4 to 5 at our host's suggestion.

If anyone is still getting the above posting errors let us know.

Rarely get errors when I am viewing from work but get a few errors at home - but me thinks that's a Bigpond issue rather than the site

Every time I post somethiing like I just did then, I just get an error message.
Sometimes the message goes through, sometimes it doesn't like just then  :banghead

It's our hosts rather than the SMF. I'll send you a PM Moi to get some details before contacting them again.

Have you asked them about the search facility which always gives an error?

Yes we have Moi. I can only get it to work by narrowing the search down to just over one board (eg: Richmond Rant). Even then you have to try 3-4 times before it works  :-\.

Sorry CUB and everyone. It has and is frustrating the hell out of us as well. We're in the process of finding a permanent solution to avoiding these database error messages as our current host seems unable to. All we can ask is for everyone to please bear with us for the time being until it is sorted out.

Cheers,

  MT and WP

"The website you have requested does not exist."

That message came up while I was browsing before.  DId it for a couple of minutes but then started to load OER again.  Just a error I thought I better report.   :)

Cheers tigersalive. I didn't get the message myself so hopefully it was just a temporary gremlin.

Apologies for the "Bad Request" error messages folks. It's a fault at our host end who we've notified.
