So just switched on Fox Footy and Hawthorn appear to playing against the Geelong Tennis Club.... :huh
-
How stuffing bad were their "tops". Like Chesty Bonds partying on Commercial Rd
-
Didn't want to start a thread for this but how stuffing soft is this (watch the gif). Cunnington offered one match ban for that?! Isn't that close to taking out the legs if you want to really nit pick (i.e. just call play on)
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-02-27/key-kanga-port-defender-offered-onegame-ban
-
Joffa's face when Cloke kicked that goal ... Priceless! :lol
Dogs' quick attacking play and pressure exposing the Pies. A note to ourselves for next week.
-
Was hoping for a perfect weekend with us winning and Carlton, Collingwood & Essendon all losing. Oh well, at least we won and two out of three ain't bad.
The worst thing about Essendon winning is we'll have to put up with a week of the media going on and on about those "brave" bombers :sleep.
-
Yep, can't wait for the week-long Essendon circle jerk. Another May premiership coming up. #sobrave
-

Didn't see the game as I was at a wedding up the country. Were Essendon that good or were Hawthorn noticeably a lesser team?

Well they now have Vickery in it so by default yes they are a lesser team

Hawthorn's disposal was ordinary. Talking Footy tonight showed O'Meara, Mitchell, Rioli & Vickery ;D all had a disposal efficiency of around 50%. The Hawks also looked dead on their feet in the last quarter while the Bombers were playing on emotion.

next will be #doitforhirdy.
stuff they poo me that club more than any other.
-
Norf lose by one point after leading by plenty
Oh the joy
-
Damn it stop winning Geelong, we want a good pick....
-
Damn it stop winning Geelong, we want a good pick....
My thoughts exactly.
Still hate North though. God I hope we belt them this year. :pray :pray
-
Even our win over Carlton is looking pretty decent now given the Blues pushed Melbourne all the way. Except for the Suns and Freo, it's been a very even comp. so far this year.
As for North and their massive last quarter choke :lol.
-
Jeez....umpires did an absolute number on Sydney there....
-
Collingwood must have had the same umps as last week.
The one positive of the Pies winning (just) tonight :chuck is that it boosts the nature of our win last week.
Nearly every year a top 4 from the previous year falls out of the Eight. The Swans are looking like being that side at the minute now they are 0-3 (granted they have a fair few injuries).
-
Freo defeated the Dogs :o.
Btw, Max Gawn did his hamstring in the Melb loss to Geelong. So he won't be playing against us on Anzac Eve.
-
Carlton Beat the Dons! Haha, get it up ya Essendon.
-
Jeez we made out like Dick stuffing Turpin getting pick 26 or whatever it was for Vickery....hell pick 36 would've still been highway robbery....lazy dud of the lowest order...
-

Plus the extra bonus of having Ty bring the Dawks down to his level

Tendon damage will miss a large chunk of the season
-
Norf losing by less than a kick after being 5 goals up :snidegrin.
Lindsay Thomas with a chance to win the game choking twice in the last 30 secs :snidegrin.
-
I enjoyed watching Lindsay miss as much as the next bloke
But choking a bit harsh??
Missed on the run from outside 50
-

The kick prior to that (about 20 secs earlier) was a shocker too. Not as much pressure and massive shank
It was 2 fine individual moments from Lindsay :clapping

Yep. An open teammate inside 50 and he shanked it straight to Jason Johannisen ;D.

-
Dees were up by 27 pts and then Freo kick the next 8 goals straight :o :lol. We play Melbourne next week so we'll have scouts at the G watching how Freo dismantled them.
Edit: Dees with the first two of the last qtr. Back to 10 pts.
-
Need to keep the ball on the ground and use our speed against the Snow Bunnies next week.....
...mind you, that's pretty much what we need to do every week....
-
The Dees hit the front at the 27 min mark but then lost by 2 pts with a very late goal to Freo ;D.
Let's hope with our new gameplan we can finally knock them off on Anzac Eve instead of seeing the frustrating low scoring grinding losses of recent clashes :banghead.
-
Best chance to rip them apart than before. Their choking the game up gamestyle they seem to employ against us won't have the same effect as seasons past
-
Spot on. A massive turnaround in speed compared to the last few years when we were so slowwwwwww that even sides like Melbourne were able to easily shut us down on the outside and then beat us up on the inside.
-

Jones, Watts and friends to have their games of the season.
-
Our style of play used to play right into the Dees hands. Cant wait for next week as i feel we can trouble them now - loved watching them go down today, is there anything better than watching that deluded club and supporter base build themselves up before the inevitable fall?
I distinctly remember last year that germ Bugg running into an open goal pointing at the scoreboard before kicking it and generally getting stuck into our boys all night. I hope our boys remember it as clearly as i do - stuff him and the dirty tankers, hope we smash them
-
The Bombers met up with Mr. Reality in Adelaide last night ;D.
-
The Bombers met up with Mr. Reality in Adelaide last night ;D.
Not according to Darc - all he kept banging on about was how brave and impressive the bombers were
-
15 mins to go and the lions are up, playing some really good footy - were up by nearly 40 in the second qtr, but as we all know they're only playing good footy when it's not against us.
Still expect the doggies to get over them, but Ben a good performance
-
Doggies really turned that around but the commentators spent a lot of time still talking them up. As you said - only good footy when it's not against us
-
Yep certainly did, they came home with a wet sail to win easilly in the end. They certainly know how to win but geez they are just going ATM.
Crows look ridiculously efficient in the other game. Should be 10 goals up already, scary proposition
-
Lion's have got some super impressive kids coming though
McClugage (sp?) Is going to be a gun
-
Tahlia won't play next week due to a hamstring, but that will most likely be offset with the inclusion of Josh Jenkins
Gee they look good. Strong all round
-
Lion's have got some super impressive kids coming though
McClugage (sp?) Is going to be a gun
Yep, on both counts, personally I'm a big fan of hipwood, reckon he's more impressive than shache and will be something special when he fills out a bit
-
What's Mason Wood's contract status? Reckon he'll be every bit as good as any young forward out there.... :shh
-
Massive momentum swings in today's matches. Swannies kicked the first 4 goals in the Sydney derby before GWS slammed on the next 9 in row.
-
What's Mason Wood's contract status? Reckon he'll be every bit as good as any young forward out there.... :shh
Re-signed last year for 2 or 3 years
-
Struth the Eagles are hopeless on the road
Basket case Hawthorn up by 27 points at half time
-
Hawks answered the call and makes our victory whilst great at the time seem lesser now the opponent has been exposed.
I certaintly hope we answer the call tomorrow night
-
That's exactly what I was thinking, puts it into perspective
-
Where have all the dawks supporters gone? A couple of losses and most of them have already jumped ship.
Less than 30k at a home game. :rollin
-

I'll still take substance over quantity.
85000 last night and still haven't won a final since 2001 or
Large membership base, small attendances but 4 flags in the last 9 and 9 since our last one.
Lets focus on footy and and the rest will take care of itself.
-
That GWS vs Dogs game last night was like a final's intensity. Any player going for the loose ball was instantly swarmed upon. It's that sort of high intensity we are going to have to deliver against the Crows tomorrow.
-

I know the dogs lost but geez they are impressive, they just will themselves to win every contest and just bang and crash the packs somehow getting the ball free for someone to have a ping on goal or start motoring away. Ive never seen anything like it. The play looks like its going to be a ballup with about 20 players surrounding the ball but they just keep bulluking and keeping the basll alive eventually spitting it out.
-
man what's up with GWS? Most star studded team in the league with talent on every line but could not run with the saints for 4 quarters. Like they should have been punished against the dogs but didn't think they would get rolled like this. The top 8 might be super tight just like last year
-
The saints look super impressive. I think they're miles ahead of us in terms of talent across the board.
-
That's how hardwick thinks his tigers play.
-
The saints look super impressive. I think they're miles ahead of us in terms of talent across the board.
Careful, you'll be accused of being an alarmist by some of the know it alls around here. :rollin
Fact is the saints understand how important it is to build a side around a strong spine, they went hard at building their KPP stocks early and the fact that their number 1 pick McCartin is struggling shows just how hard it is to get the talls right, yet we expect/hope to fill our KPP stock quota with rookies and cat B rookies
-
North up 64-0 at qtr time? wth is going on here?
-
North up 64-0 at qtr time? wth is going on here?
Not sure mate, maybe n0rf playing their GF in spite of our efforts last week
-
North now up 114-61 nearing 3/4 time.
Blues 5 goals up on the Pies midway 3rd qtr (59-29).
A round of upsets coming up that hopefully continues tonight :pray.
-
N0rt thump the Crows
Blues just put another nail in Buckley's coffin
Funny game footy :rollin
-
So far my tipping this round is 0 :P :help.
Eagles beat Port at Adelaide Oval, so another upset.
-
I too sit at 0
And somehow I think that's where I will remain :'(
-
Let's hope the cats continue to drop games
-
You know what will assuage my anger from last nights loss?
Seeing te stinking tanking dees get done by the hawks. Can't believe I'm going to say this, but go hawks
-
I've finally lic6ked a winner :clapping :clapping
thank you Sydney
and I'm with you tony_m
Go Hawks ;D
-
Yessssss! Loving the supporter meltdown :santa
-
The Bombers lost again. Didn't they brag about finishing top 4 at the start of the season? :lol.
-
Yeah nice confidence boost for our next opponents...
-
Pfft if we can't beat freo at the G next week, we may as well pack in 2017
-
Pfft if we can't beat freo at the G next week, we may as well pack in 2017
Correct. Hopefully the Dons at least forced Freo to run it out hard late on a Sunday night.
Funny season this one. Feels like every match is an 8 point game. Whilst I doubt there will be too many teams drop in or out of the 8 from here on, I could honestly see any team making the 8 with Brisbane, Carlton and Collingwood being the exceptions.
-
Pfft if we can't beat freo at the G next week, we may as well pack in 2017
They're not West Coast, they've already won there this year...
-
3 straight losses for the Cats. The more the better with us holding their first round draft pick :thumbsup.
-

so what? Whilst I respect that anyone can beat anyone on any given day in this comp, we really shouldnt be grabbing our skirts in fear that they may have gained a bit of a confidence booster in over running the highly credentialed bombers..
-
3 straight losses for the Cats. The more the better with us holding their first round draft pick :thumbsup.
love it, 5-0 flattered them more than it did us. Average unit that comes unstuck when one of the 2 twin towers is just going.
Good to see adelaide get flogged and lose their second in a row too. After they pummeled us the talk of them going undefeated was outrageous. Confirms what I took from that game, yes they were better but it helps when umps plus dumb stuff errors costs you about 8 cheap goals.
-
We just need to follow Geelong's response last night to breaking a 3-game losing streak of soft footy. Tackling pressure was immense.
-
The Swannies have burst St Kilda's bubble 118-68. The most open season continues.
-
Oh goody! We'll be facing an Essendon side full of their usual cocky confidence after flogging the Eagles by 10 goals :scream.
-
Typical Melbourne. Coming of age win ( apparently) last week against the Crows.
Can't back it up the following week . Very Very Richmondy
-
Josh Kennedy doing a calf injury will a massive loss for the Eagles. Opens up the Coleman Medal race too.
-
Port destroying Hawthorn.
I wonder what Vickery must be thinking as we are in the top 8...... :whistle
-
Bugger him
Good to see them crash land
Lowest score in their history at half time
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DBO_i8-UMAAEnTS.jpg)
Looks like the moment Clarkson realised trading for Vickery was a bad idea :snidegrin.
-
Eagles losing is good for us.
They coughed up the lead with 90 secs to go. Then with 30 seconds to go and with the Eagles down 3 pts, Hurn as captain chips it into the pocket instead of bombing down the centre.
West Coasty :whistle.
-
I really don't get anything from hanging it on Hawthorn. If we won 4 flags from 5 grand finals in 8 years I probably wouldn't be that upset with a few bottom 6 finishes.
-

^^This.
Tall poppy in full flare this season it seems.
-
I'd gladly wear 3 spoons in a row if we'd just won 4 flags in 8 years....
-
Big win for the Pies tonight.
Did us a favour, cheers Bucks ;)
-
The Swannies knocking off the Dogs keeps us in 4th spot :thumbsup.

For now
;D :snidegrin
-
St kilda - most overrated team in the comp at the minute.
-
Carlton up by 8 pts over GWS at half-time. Another good result for us this weekend if the Blues can cause a boilover.
-
Yeah great - our next two opponents both up & about now...
-
Yeah great - our next two opponents both up & about now...
So were Essendon and North .
-
No surprise the Jekyll & Hyde (win in WA/lose in Vic) Eagles stick to their usual script and knock off the Cats at Subi.
Opens up 3rd spot for us too :thumbsup.
-
Hopefully last night is the last time we see North on primetime :sleep.

Sportsbet chucked up a classic last night of a lone north supporter in a bay and said something about them all coming out for Harvey's lap of honour.
-
blues win tonight and next week is game on.
-

Blues get challanged and hold out. We get challanged and crumble like baked biscuits.
Blues win by 6 goals next week. Hold me to it!
-
Barlow's broken leg/ankle was sickening to watch :P.
Yet, despite it likely being a career ending injury at his age, he still had a jovial attitude to crack a joke on social media about being in hospital to have stitches above his eye out. All the best to him.

In a sad observation on AFL watching Joanna Lumley patronise her way down the Nile was better than the crows v hawks on the tube tonight. How crap is that?
-
Hawks won
-
bloody swans
-
Watching the hombres kick 7 in a row to win the game makes last weeks result all the more painful. Swans are back my stuffing arse!
-
i can handle it if they were good opposition, but fmd freo and swans last week losing the way we did.
we are a joke

Essenmond!!! :clapping

Lol Tony ....you went too early .
Not even Richmond could do that .
-
Essendondy :lol.
That was as bad a choke as ours against the Pies last year. 19 pts with a few minutes to go and unable to control possession. LOL @ Goddard's kick-in getting smothered when all he had to do was make sure he belted it long outside 50 and down the line.
Swans get out of jail two weeks in a row. A lesson in never giving up and playing with desperation until the final siren. I hope our boys were watching.

a nice prediction to get wrong.
floggard. thats a shame.
-
Not that it eventuated but people notice how quick Swans were to marshall the troops to flood the D50. Never see our players do that
-
So, they're as pathetic as us...but they'll learn, whereas .....
-
Two goals up with 90 seconds to go . Sydney had to score 3 times and they did.
Surely this surpasses our effort against the GC a few years back .
-
Bloody eagles
-
Can't remember a season as tight as this one
-
Two stark differences:
Listening to Hodge not just mic'd up the other night but over the years, keeping his teammates level headed even when winning flag after flag.
Then listening and watching Melbourne carry on after they start finally getting a few wins. The way they carry on in the media, social media, fist pumping themselves after a home and away win.
I thought some of the Bulldogs team last year had some arrogance but Bevo seemed to keep it in check. It seems to be encouraged and accepted at Melbourne.
-
This bizarre season looks like continuing. An injury-hit Freo up 51- 29 at the Cattery at half-time :o.
-
Freo choked. A goal-less last quarter and Walters shanked a kick directly in front that would've won them the game on the siren.
-

Very harsh on Walters
-
How so
-
gee i wonder what bug is going to get. haha 2 weeks maybe 1
stuffin wankers
-
I haven't seen a side drink their own bath water quite as much as this Melbourne team. We probably got a bit ahead of ourselves in 2013 but not like this lot. Not even Dogs carried on this much last year as figjams like Stringer were told to pull their head in. Faux tough guys, carrying on like tools on social media, guys like Gawn who have had a few good games and now have huge tickets on themselves spending every minute on media street. Hawks and Cats earned their right to be arrogant, they were disliked because they were good, not because they were a pack of stuffwits.
-

:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup absolutely why I despise this side/club more than any other. They are so far up their own clackas. Its embarrassing watching them strut around with smug looks on their faces engaging in push and shove like they are boss.
And all this has been built on being incompetent cheats. Got to love this comp.
If this club died I wouldnt bat an eyelid, in fact Id applaud it.
-
They're my most hated club as well. Their supporters are absolute pole smokers too. Their only relevance to the game is a tiny footnote in the history pages. AFL's golden child that has to constantly be coddled.
-
The Crows just scrape past the Blues at the 'G. Other clubs are working Adelaide out and the Crows aren't flying like they were earlier in the season when they thumped us.
-
Media all last week even after their implosion v Sydney: "Essendon should still make the eight because they have the easiest run home...."
...next minute....

it was great to watch. Only wish i got on the lions in the last. They wouyld have been 20/1 i reckon.
Essendoom are pathetic arent they and the media just love them.
-
Weren't they supposed to be a shoe in for top 4 once they got their players back?
-
Back to back draws for GWS.
Both sides choked in the last quarter lol. Hawks up by 21 early in the last before the Giants kicked the next 5 and had all the momentum. Looked all over with 5 mins to go before the Hawks we're able to get off the canvas and kick the last two to level the scores.
-
Saints not so super duper when opposition actually turns up to play.... :shh
-

Time for the bombers to be the premiership favorites for the week
-
Well for a day at least until the whoever wins the Sydney derby takes their place...,,
-
Bombers now up by 50. You know it's your night when you kick a leg break goal like Zaharakis just did.
St Kilda - one hit wonders since 1966 ;D. Another victim of getting ahead of yourself with flag talk and pumping up lesser names in the media leading up to a game you were favoured to win.
-
Essendon 28.15 - 183
Richmond 3.6 - 24
Thats how it works yeah?
:rollin
-
stuffing hilarious saints
-
can see us losing a final to these cheats and dimwit praising the bombers heart in the presser
-
Hawks now leading Geelong nearing half-time. Dangerfield carrying a leg injury too after having his kick smothered.
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-07-15/brownlow-favourite-hobbled-after-mcg-clash
Port will keep 4th spot after exploding out of the blocks and kicking 8 goals in the first qtr against North. That shinboner spirit ,eh! ::)
-
Well so much for being on one leg. Dangerfield has 5 goals to 3/4 time. Cats up by 11.
-
Cats won by just 3 pts. Hodge kicked a goal with less than a minute to go to bring the margin back to 4. Then, Issac Smith had a shot to win the game but missed. IIRC that's the 2nd time Smith in the past couple of years has missed the last shot of the game against Geelong.
In the other game, Port flogged North by 70 pts. So no change to the top 4 this week. We need to win and get back on track tomorrow to stay in touch.
-
A reality hit for Geelong. Hung in there on the scoreboard which flattered them in the end but they were totally outclassed by Adelaide. The Crows have played anywhere near that well since they flogged us over there. They are going to be hard to beat for the flag if they finish top 2 which is likely now.
The one positive is if we can pull off a win tomorrow, we'll be just half a game off second.

If... we finish in 4th, we will have to play off Adelaide in Adelaide.
I personally cant see us finishing higher than 4th given the teams circling around top 4 and those circling top 5-8.
We would have to edge out GWS or Port or Geelong or even keep Demons away.
-
Carn Norf....
....threw up a little typing that.....
-
Wonder why Taylor Walker isn't receiving nearly as much scrutiny as Dusty for this..
-
West Coasty.
24 pts up in the last with a top 8 spot on the line and on the Pies who are out of the finals race, and the Eagles still get rolled. If that was us, the media would be carrying on for the next week.
-
Scum forgot they were tanking for about a quarter but SOS took the phone from the smurf and reminded them just in time... :shh
Gibbs already in Adelaide in his mind...seven touches and no kicks until the third quarter......... wonder if there's Carlton versions of Dooks & Tigeritis somewhere flood posting about what a crap leader he is?:shh :shh

Pretty sure there is over on BF- names are Doulls and Thomasitis. Both have overbites too.
-
A mixed result for us tonight. Hawthorn winning means they'll be up for next week. On the other hand, Sydney losing means tomorrow night as well as the Hawks game is a chance for us to cement a spot in the top 4. Not going to be easy without Jack :-\.
-
Thanks Norf. Dees lost by 4 pts :thumbsup.
Up to us now to make the most of these losses by the sides just below us.
-
Pity that Freo didn't have a final qtr in them!
-
Pity that Freo didn't have a final qtr in them!
At least, GWS didn't get any % out of it.
-
Saints
10 4 pts with 54 secs to go [Port just kicked a goal]. A Port loss would mean a win tonight for us [touchwood :pray] would put us 2 games ahead of 5th.
-
Robbie Gray goal with 19 secs to go to put Port in front. What a choke by the Saints. 10 pts up with a minute to go and they lost by coughing up two goals in the last minute after Port had only kicked 7 goals for the night up till then. St Kilda hasn't won a game since their one-off night out against us ::).
Oh well, let's hope this makes the Saints out of contention by the time round 23 comes around.
-
Port deserved the win, beat 21 men out on the field
-
Would have been good to get two games clear but glad Saints got done. They started the year expecting to make the 8 by default and now likely to miss. With any luck they'll have nothing to play for by round 23.

I'm glad they won, not just bc of Sydney but I reckon we need a few of these high pressure big games in the lead up to the finals. We'll bury them
-
What a choke by the Saints. 10 pts up with a minute to go and they lost by coughing up two goals in the last minute after Port had only kicked 7 goals for the night up till then.
I'll bet the media will not be saying they played the worst last minute in football history. They reserve that accolade for us anytime we blow it.
-
Good ol' Collingwood. 50 pts up in early in the 3rd quarter and they still can't win :lol.
Also great that we won't be hearing anything this week from all the Essendon-supporting journos. Bombers were shown up as pretenders by the Dogs.
-
Gee wouldn't it be lovely if the blues completely finish off their season this coming weekend
Let's all get behind the blues to send these cheats out of finals reach
-
So who are people barracking for tonight? A Sydney win is a good result if we beat Hawthorn but a Geelong win is a good result if we don't...
-
So who are people barracking for tonight? A Sydney win is a good result if we beat Hawthorn but a Geelong win is a good result if we don't...
As soon as Danger laid that tackle last week I knew hed cop a week and in true richmondy fashiin Geelongs opponent would beat them given we were the rebound team the week after.
I wouldve prwgerred cats win this week. Cant see them losing two in a row now especially with Danger coming back in after rwsting that foot injury
-
Even with Danger back it sounds like they will only have half a team next week. I'll wait and see how we go against Hawks before I start believing though.
-
Essendon trailing Carlton at 3/4 time. Lloyd, Robbo and Connolly will be very quiet if their beloved Bombers get rolled by a bottom 2 side and their season is officially done and dusted ;D.
-
Would have been much better for us if GWS lost today but I just couldnt bring myself to barrack for Melbourne.
-
So...anyone still want Casboob?
-
Eagles choke again in a last quarter this year. The media will again say nothing.
Means the Saints are still in it.
-
Ch 7 just said Joel Selwood is out for the rest of the H/A season.
-
The Giants flogged the inaccurate Dogs. So it's all about going clear in 3rd spot for us tomorrow.
-
So I really want Melbourne to miss the 8 because the undeserving tanking charity case and their arrogant, theatre-going, upper-class twit fans can gagf & e.a.d ...but I also really don't want the Aints to have anything to play for apart from sending off St. Nick in round 23.....hmmmm....quite the dilemna...
-
Sydney well on top over in Adelaide. This season has another few twists to come just yet.
-
Shyte set shot kicking now costing us in matches we're not even involved in...
-
Pies up 37-14 on the Cats at 1/4 time.
-
see the cats today? those pricks just know how to get it done. Once they hit the lead with about 10 minutes to go, they took complete control of the ball and collingwood barely got another inside 50. Once things start heating up good strong clubs just get the job done regardless of performance, personel etc, look at the swans yesterday, shouldnt have gotten within 5 goals and had no right to win that one but win it they did.
The cats for mine are a pretty ordinary bunch apart from their top 2 and a few handy types, but they have the ability to stay cool and go up a gear when the game heats up.
Watching these sides I have grave reservations about whether we can rise to the occassion and win our last 2
-
Results from yesterday couldn't have gone any worse for us - so Richmondy.
At least we can't miss the finals now :rollin
-
Looks like the Dees have sealed a finals spot. One spot left open and 4 still in the running - Bombers, Eagles, Dogs and Saints.
-
Perhaps should be under a different thread but Vince got off for that dog act hit on beams. Give me a spell.
-
Melbourne are on track to do a full choke, would be good to see if they missed finals.

And heres the exact moment when a Melbourne supporters heart explodes when he realises the dees were going to miss finals

There's plenty of good stuff in there; leaders getting bagged, coach has no idea and plan B.

If it wasn't for Gary Lyon, I'd probably be hoping Melbourne did well. Can't help disliking the man as he constantly bags the tigers. Hope he enjoyed that game.... :whistle
-
Ah the joy - will be complete when the eagles win and shut the door on the dees playing finals.
Absolute gold, couldnt happen to a bigger idiot of a club
-
Oh I say! Is there any cheese left? It goes well with a good robust whine ... :P
-

Their supporters are just the biggest bunch of flogs in the competition. We've been constantly compared to them and got no credit for climbing out of the depths and making finals while they still got hand outs and wasted their draft picks. I've got a Dees mate who I try not to bag out of respect for the guy as he is one of the nicest blokes I have ever known, a fellow Victory member and regularly represents Australia in para table tennis. He was stiff not to go to Rio despite being the regional champ in his class but so far he's looking good to go to Tokyo. But whenever it comes to footy and Dees win a few games he's quick to go "we've gone past you guys." All I can think is so you should. Since 2008 we have steadily improved ladder positions, played finals, gone back down and risen again, looking at a top 4 finish while they're looking for everyone's adulation just for making it once.
To top it off their players have the biggest egos and are the biggest tools in the league. Tossers. I hope Eagles win.
-
well said dwaino :thumbsup
they make me sick the way that club got treated by the AFL. Hope Hogan leaves them and they are stuck with Watts again.
Part time supporters i call most melbourne supporters.
-
Cats have kicked the last 3 to jump out to a 27 point lead midway 3rd qtr (64-37). If Geelong wins we need them to win by as much as possible to knock down the Giants' percentage. Of course, we've just got to make sure we do our job tomorrow as well.
-
Cats 77 GWS 43 nearing 3/4 time.
Our percentage is now currently higher than GWS.
GWS 60 115.6
Rich 56 116.7
:thumbsup.
-
final at the g against cats if we win.
if we lose its an elimination final most likely against the drug cheats. A scenario that will be painful.
-
Do we want Geel to win? If Geel win and we win tomorrow and finish 3rd do we play Geel at the G or Kardinia park? Id rather play Geel on the G, but would prefer GWS up there as oppsed to Geel on their home deck.
-
no chance it will be in geelong mate.
Not against us anyway. If we lose it will definately be against the giants over there.
I heard there is a contract to play a certain amount of games at the g
-
Cameron Ling was just asked where their Qualifying Final should be played and even he said if it's Richmond it will be at the 'G.
-
last year they finished second and played hawks at the g.
It shouldnt even be up for discussion, but if anyone is going to get screwed by the AFL it would be us.
-
Personally I would still rather Giants at Spotless. Geelong are a massive bogey side for us, even at the G and they're finals specialists. We have a record of going limp when in the spotlight too. We know we can beat GWS and an interstate final might not be so bad if it's against them. I guess finishing top 4 though means you have to be able to take on anyone.

Impossible to play GWS now. Either Geelong if we win or play an elimination final against Essendon, Melbourne, West Coast or even the saints (unlikely).
-
Yeah I know but the whole week I have been thinking that playing GWS away would have been the lesser of two evils :-[. What a time to have to break our Geelong hoodoo.
-
Hahaha come on eagles.
-
This is going down to the wire. Eagles up 88-71 but need another goal to gain enough %.
-
They just kicked two

They just kicked two
No finals cheese platters :snidegrin.

Just goes to show that egos don't win poo.

Jack Viney spent all year getting in his opponent's faces and talking poo.....id like to hear him say it all now
Garry Lyon suck eggs too
-
Hmmm just looking at the current threads on Demonland and I think we are letting ourselves down a bit.
There are;
Soft underbelly must become extinct
Will the club make a statement to its supporters and members
Emotionally timid lapses
Thank you Adelaide FC

north are set to extend scott's contract this week. stuff they are like a desperate whore trying to get into your pants at 3am.
pathetic club they are

How stuffing cocky are they asking the saints players earlier this year what they were doing in september? I picked it earlier in the season when we played them and then watched closely afterwards, I've never seen so much engineered faux toughness from an afl team before, it was actually embarrassing. So happy to see them royally stuff things up
-
Crows already off to a home Prelim. Can't see GWS coming back from 44 pts down at half-time in the wet. Just shows how important tomorrow night is to get a home Prelim and avoid a trip to Adelaide.
Only negative for Adelaide is Brodie Smith has apparently done an ACL. On the other side, Jeremy Cameron also looks gone with a hammy. Touchwood, no serious injuries tomorrow night that stuff up our chances :pray. No matter how good any side is, you still need some luck.
Edit: Giants with the first three of the second half. So much for me saying they don't look like coming back lol.
-
Adelaide have steadied.
Deledio has been shocking tonight.
-
We have to win tomorrow night
Win and play GWS/WCE/Port in a prelim
Miracle draw
-
Deledio now 0/4 in Finals.....hope it's not an omen.... :shh
-

Im comfy playing any of those. Thats why if we win tonight the chances of making the Grand Final are very good.
On the other hand losing will see us probably play Sydney then Adelaide to meet Geelong again Nightmare.
-
Deledio now 0/4 in Finals.....hope it's not an omen.... :shh
Or looking at it another way
Maybe it's an omen for the teams he plays for at the time ;)
-
If we lose tonight, id back us to win next week and lose the following week in adelaide, if we win tonight then stuff yeah, we're a real show to win through to the GF. Probably wont get a better opportunity than this.
-
Imagine playing GWS in the prelim and knocking them/Lids out. Puts up with a decade of poo, gets pushed out the door only to lose a final to same team.

Pushed out the door????

Peptides have worn off
Cya pretenders

Good thing we won last night.
Not looking forward to if (when) we have to play Sydney.
-
Is buddy injured?
-
Nice to see the back of the druggos
-
Tight one in adelaide tonight.
-
Port-Eagles 60 all and off to extra time. If either get over the Giants and through to the Prelim, let's hope they are physically and mentally stuffed by then.
-
I'd love if it was port and we paid them back in spades for the elim final
-
Yesssssssssss looooook at em goooooo feral :shh :lol
-
Cough cough Port (esp. Dixon) :yep.
I hope Boak is enjoying his season ;D.
-
ROFL Eagles pinch it after the overtime siren stuff me they will need riot cops to get out of there alive !!!
-
im glad port are out.
now for the eagles to beat gws and we get them at the g. :birthday
-
That'll be a soul destroying loss for Port. 8 more scoring shots and up 13 pts in extra time in a final at home and still lose via a opposition kick after the siren after all those shots Port had with just one of them needed to go through the middle to seal it. Massive choke!
Oh well, it's now either GWS or Eagles for us. Both with poor MCG records.
-
A Port PF was my last preference. Reckon they're the most dangerous out of the three when they're on.
Pretty sucky that it came down to a Shuey shrug special but to be fair they were getting reamed by the umps all night. What a finish though.
-
they were getting pumped by the umps but the umps got them over the line in the end, who says they don't influence the game ? LOL mother idiots!!!
-
Yesssssssssss looooook at em goooooo feral :shh :lol
YeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
:dancing :dancing :dancing :dancing

yep dwaino i wanted port out. it really is now our best chance at a GF.
Lets hope these 2 sides bang up against each other next week and petrie knocks Greene out.
Cameron is injured and talk is suggets even a mild strain has him pushing for a GF spot.

Was that strictly a free kick or did Shuey "cheat" by raising his arm at forcing the tackle high?
:huh
-
The tackle started legal. Polec got him around the bicep and chest, then Shuey lift his arm and threw himself back. This year the umpires stated that any tackle that started legal but the player being tackled endangered themselves by ducking, dropping knees or shrugging would be play on. The umpires put the whistle away in the extra time and that was a howler.
-
Cats over all the Swans so far. Makes our win last week look even better :thumbsup.
Edit: Swans finally get one back. 52 - 21.
-
Sydney - the second best side in the comp. after Adelaide according to the media :stupid. So we're a 110 point better side than the Swans ;D.
The soft way the Swans played tonight reminded me of us in 2014 against Port. Playing unofficial "elim finals" week after week to catch up and make the finals eventually catches up on you.
As the the Cats, it's in someways good that they won. The media focus will switch to Dangerfield vs his old side and Josh Jenkins comments last week about Danger.

What was his comments on Danger? I missed them
-
ADELAIDE forward Josh Jenkins says he’d relish the prospect of beating former teammate Patrick Dangerfield in a home preliminary final.
The Crows earned the week off with a comprehensive victory over GWS, while Dangerfield’s Cats will have to do things the hard way, with a semi-final next week.
If the Cats prevail, they’ll have to face the Crows in Adelaide for a spot in the grand final — meaning Dangerfield would be facing his ex-teammates for the honour.
Jenkins couldn’t help but take a cheeky dig at the midfielder who was traded from Adelaide to Geelong at the end of 2015.
“Oh 100 per cent (I’d love to beat Dangerfield) — they do have to get there first so they’ve got to take care of their business,” Jenkins said on Fox Sports News’ Gameday Live.
“But if he marches into town with his Geelong teammates, there’d be nothing better than beating him and reminding him that perhaps he should have stuck around with us and he could be a Brownlow Medallist and a premiership player.”
When asked about the comments, Dangerfield indicated he’d be keeping the comments in mind.
Essendon great Matthew Lloyd asked the Geelong star: “In the memory bank, Paddy?”
To which Dangerfield responded: “What do you reckon, Lloydy?”
Safe to say, comments banked.
Dangerfield requested a trade from the Crows to the Cats at the end of 2015 after playing 154 games in South Australia.
Jenkins said he was confident the Crows could handle the Cats — or any other opponent — in their home preliminary final.
“It was a shame the Cats dropped one at home last night but we’re excited, we’ve earned the right to play at home in a prelim final,” he said.
“It doesn’t really matter who comes through Adelaide, we’ll be confident we can beat them.”
Former Saints and North Melbourne defender Nick Dal Santo said he loved hearing the Jenkins banter on Saturday morning.
But Dal Santo added that it would be no laughing matter for Dangerfield if the Crows not only beat the Cats in a prelim, but went on to win the Grand Final just a couple of years after the superstar midfielder left the club.
“You play football to win premierships and Danger’s made some decisions to come home, which is a big part of life to come,” Dal Santo told Fox Sports News’ AFL Today.
“You don’t want to lose to the Adelaide Crows and then (see them) go on the next week and win the whole thing.”

looks like we are playing the giants in Lids 200th.
lets hope we wipe the floor with these pretty boys.
-
West Coast getting pack raped by the umpires
-
Looks like the afl want their confected club to get into a granny....could be bad news for us
-
Looks that way, Francois.
I might be being biased but compared to our final, this GWS-Eagles game is very open for a final. No pressure on the outside. Giants up 61-26 at half-time.
-
I was hoping for a more contested bash and crash game
Ooh well. We bring our game next week we win.
Won't be easy
-
Eagles were clearly cooked after last week. It was a training run in the end for the Giants under almost zero pressure.
You're right, Francois. It won't be easy against them next week but Prelims usually aren't. It sure will be a shock to the system for most of the Giants' players next week. After 14k tonight (not poor for them but it was the lowest finals crowd since WW1), they'll have to face 90k Tiger supporters next week. GWS have never played in front of more then 60k.
-
Anything less than 100% effort next week from everybody and GWS will run all over the top of us....most talented list since the salary cap was introduced...... the way they played today they'll appreciate even more space at the G too....and it probably won't be raining this time either.... :shh
looks like we are playing the giants in Lids 200th.
lets hope we wipe the floor with these pretty boys.

ADELAIDE has been dealt a blow ahead of Friday night's preliminary final against Geelong, with forward Mitch McGovern to be assessed for a possible hamstring injury.
The 22-year-old, who missed nearly three months this season with a torn right hamstring he suffered in round three, pulled up sore during the club's closed training session on Saturday.
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-09-17/crows-blow-key-forwards-hamstring-worry
-
2 goals to Adelaide in the first minute and a half. Currently 18-7. We do something similar tomorrow from the start and GWS won't have a chance to shut us up.
-
Early but it could be game over already. Geelong look shell-shocked and they've lost Scott Selwood to a hammy.
-
adealaide wont lose from here
-
:shh
-
put some stuffing body into em at least Geebung ya soft idiots, don't leave em all daisy fresh for us lol
-
Prelim Paddy Clangerfield chokes again.....
....can't use the bye excuse now if we lose....
.

It's ok kids they are in a bubble over There.
Would think we are a clone of Carlton.
Big shitstorm surprise coming.....
