First question: Why were you so soft in the final allowing a second string sissy to dominate you in the most important game of the season?

Some questions we are not allowed to ask.

They won't ask any tough questions, they never do. They are always too busy talking over the top of one another

They will ask what's already been asked over the last 6 months, he will give his stock standard answers, they wont press harder with the inadequate answers and they will move on to the next question

Pretty sure they're going to have both Barret & Hutchinson on the panel to cover Lyon's absence....so it'll be even worse....

Cotch on Footy Classified:

* Upset with how the Dusty incident was reported. It was frustrating without all the facts on the table. While it's not acceptable to be drunk in public, he's happy that the truth came out after it was blown out of all proportions.

* Lloyd asked whether not winning a final this year would be another failed season?
Cotch laughed. It's March and we haven't played round 1 yet. We need to make the finals first before we can deal with winning in finals.

* How do you want to be remembered as captain?
He wants to be a premiership captain. That's what he ultimately wants to be judged by (when his footy career is over).

* Hutchy asked about Treloar's comments (i.e. Pies have the better list) and whether Richmond was deluded in believing they were going to get him when everyone else expected him to go to Collingwood?
Cotch basically replied that he didn't know what was going on behind the scenes and all up Treloar is at Collingwood where he had/has a strong link with Bucks. Treloar has never been apart of Richmond so he doesn't know without being on the inside of both clubs how you can make such a comparison. Cotch believes we have the side/list to achieve a premiership. The proof will be the pudding regarding Treloar's statement.

* Why isn't Jack Riewoldt in the leadership group?
The players voted for the 5 they wanted in the leadership group. Jack is a leader onfield anyway. We ultimately expect all 22 players who are playing to display leadership. Jack made great strides as a leader last year and we want to see that again this season. He plays with passion which sometimes the media criticise him for.

* Thursday night and the injuries?
We are confident we have the depth to cover those missing. With the structures these days it comes down to what we were talking about before where all 22 play their role and when it's their turn to show a form a leadership. It'll give some of the younger guys a chance. He didn't rule Ivan out (or in).

* Hutchy asked if you make it to September, can you win the flag?
Cotch replied, "On our day - yes!".

Cotch was also asked about the 2012 Brownlow. He avoided questions asking whether Jobe Watson should hand it back. Cotch just said that Jobe had a terrific season that year and it's not really any point commenting about it until after the appeal and the AFL hearing. Cotch added when they pressed him that if Jobe believes he's done nothing wrong then he probably feels he shouldn't give it back. They then asked Cotch if he would accept the Brownlow if it was offered to him and Cotch said he'd probably have to.

They also displayed a graphic which outlined Cotchin's poor efforts in the past two Elimination finals.

TC just said he needs to get better.

I guess it didn't support the point they were trying to make.

A bit more from Cotch last night:

* I’ve done a lot of work over the pre-season with dealing with tags, knowing exactly how I can impact the game, whether it’s touching the footy or going forward and kicking a goal, or maybe even playing half-back, or tagging another opponent. That’s the sort of stuff that we’re going to have to work on throughout the season, and hopefully, when we get to that position, if we do, the latter part of the season I’ll be better.”

* The reality is I’m out there playing the game of footy.  I’ve got 21 mates around me, and if I don’t ask for help then they’re not aware of it.  And, I also need to be better myself."
