DIMMA what's the go? ?? ???
u said many times if u cant kick u cant/wont play, but is seems the real message is, if i dont like u u wont play, if i like u u will
we all know why tuck is out of the side, and i agree he should be for those reasons, but ffs dimma, he is a better kick than
farmer
hislop
foley
jackson
just to name 4
so how the do these players get a game if they cant kick and continually waste every possession they get
-
Wow.
-
we all know why tuck is out of the side, and i agree he should be for those reasons
So what are you saying ?
-
spot on X.
Black, he has quite clearly got his favourties at the club and it's BS. Hislop wouldn't get a gig as water boy for the Turnover Terriers 3rds yet he's getting a game for an AFL club. WTF
-
Coaches have to tell stories, it's in the job description.
Honestly can you imagine Hardwick coming out and saying
"Hislop is a dud, but we thought we might give him one more try before delisting him"
"The only way Tucky will get a game is if we are severely hit by injuries"
or
"Mitch Morton is a good footballer but his attitude is poor"
-
Great post.......... ::) ::)
Farmer is probably one of our best kicks for goal and some of his passes on Saturday were pin point.
-
would have to say that some points here are pretty close to the mark.
Farmer, Hislop should not be in the 22. Edwards is also closing in. Jackson's kicking is suspect.
-
I agree!
H-wick clearly said if you can't kick you will not be in the team.
Edwards, Hisdope can not kick!
Farmer can kick, and very long too, problem is he is a local footballer not an AFL player.
Foley has lost the way he use to' play, just get the football and run!
Jackson, is a tagger and that is all! Don't play him as a prime midfielder.
-
Black, he has quite clearly got his favourties at the club and it's BS.
You're still peeed about your bum boy Schutltz gettin axed Jacky ;D
-
Snip
Disagree with one another fine but the insults are not
BTW I appreciate how everyone is feeling after Saturday but avoiding the swear filter isn't on either. Your all know we are fairly lenient but......tone it down
torch - refering to Hardwick as F-wick wont be tolerated, that's goes beyond blatantly avoiding the swear filter. Keep it up and you can have 48 hours on the swear bench
-

You're still peeed about your bum boy Schutltz gettin axed Jacky ;D
When did he get axed? Last time I checked he was traded. Bet Dimma begged him to stay on ;D
-
Agree with first post.
Add Browne to the list of crap kickers.
Don't bull poo us Dimmer - the ice is getting thin.
Play tuck !

What we need to all understand is that when you have only 10 players that are capable of playing AFL standard your going to have passengers, poor kicks, soft bodies, weak minded players that when not performing at their best look horrible.
Its not Hardwicks fault that you have to field 22 players each week.
Of our whole list you'd only have genuine faith in 10-12 of them.
-
Some of those 10-12 you are mentioning didn't even turn up on Saturday Pope it was more like half that.
Playing list is getting real thin. We're scraping the bottom of the barrel with some of them.
-
LOL - understand the disappointment but slagging the coach is not going to achieve anything - Pretty sure he dropped a few last week for poor disposals but unfortunately the replacements were worse.
Hopefully they redeem themselves this week!
-
Ok geniuses and keyboard hero's.
Using our current list, please compile a side of 22 players with quality disposal.

I wouldn't have thought we had 22 with quality disposal? That's what makes this thread hilarious :lol :lol
You cant not play them if have nothing to replace them with???
-
Ok geniuses and keyboard hero's.

Not Browne
Not Hislop

LOL
You are all cracking the poos over Browne.
Ok.
So you replace Browne with Graham and all crack the poos over Graham. It's not fair having a go at Dima and calling him a liar for playing Browne. He inherited a ruck shambles and drafted Derickx this year. He has a broken ankle, so hardly Dima's fault Browne cant kick.
Anyway, still waiting for a best 22.

Some people forget that a liberal dose of free specch keeps the clients coming back.
This isnt other forums and we're not treated like pre schoolers.
If someone has a point of view, especially on a senior figure of the club, this is the place to speak it.
That's why this forum is the best.
Keep up the great work loveys!!

Edit: no mention of other sites ;)

I think this thread is a positive move, it paves the way for my 'Gerks is a jerk' thread.
-
Play Tuck. Agree Hislop, Browne, Farmer are not up to afl standards. Agree there needs to be a clear out at end of season

Still waiting for a team of 22 that can kick.

We dont have the cattle. The sooner people work that out, the better.
-
Well it seems this thread as caused alot of angst and interesting discussion
We've had a number of complaints and Mr OE and my good self have been discussing what is the best course of action ;D
Just a couple of points:
One of the issues we have is where do we (mods) draw the line between any comment being seen as criticism or a personal attack? Why has this thread about Dimma caused so much angst?
Because if you all cast your mind back to just on 3 years ago we had 4 out of 5 posters were attacking Wallace and calling him a liar, a cheat, a phony etc we didn't have many complaints, no-one was offended, no-one asked for anything to be removed. Now return to 2011 and the last few days and there have posts that refer the current President of the RFC as a tool? Isn't that an attack on a senior person form the club?
On the general board there hasn't been one complaint when people have labelled the Prime Minister of this country a liar and that has been going for months.
Suddenly it would seem depending on "who" it is getting "attacked" the goal posts need to be moved.
But clearly in this case the majority of the tribe has spoken and we are taking that voice's views on board
Regards
WP

We dont have the cattle. The sooner people work that out, the better.
Agree with all that Damo.
-
Who called the President a tool?
That is poor form.

Its all starting to get out of hand, hahaha
Im sure the thought has crossed dimmas mind to jump on field and show em how to do it match day, but that wont happen ;D
In the meantime, accept what pope said- we have too many passengers and until they are replaced with better quality you will aslways have a lop sided team.
sorry to say :(
-
lop sided team- no doubt.
Not playing Tuck over Hislurp - Not on.
WTF Dimmer?????
-
Still waiting for a side with 22 players that can kick.
Newman Rance Houli
Deledio Astbury Grimes
Cotchin Martin Conca
Griffiths Vickery Helbig/MacDonald
King Riewoldt Helbig/MacDonald
Foll: Derickx Foley Jackson Grigg
Interchange: Morton(?) Batchelor (?)
I believe Derickx will take over as our #1 Ruck in 2012, I just get this feeling that the kid will burst out onto the scene in the next couple of years, Ruckman with his size, mobility and skill are very rare.
I've placed Helbig and MacDonald twice on the HFF and the BP, I believe they are both our best options for the mid-sized forwards and with Helbigs massive hoof on him and MacDonald's goal sense I would prefer MacDonald closer to goal.
Actually that team on paper looks pretty darn good, very inexperienced but plenty of size, speed and skill within that group, and if Contin and Jakobi develop the way the club is hoping then I could definitely see a position within the team for them.
EDIT: Forgot to add my man Batchelor onto the bench, completely forgot about this kid but this kid has shown more class and poise under pressure then I've probably ever seen from a 1st year player playing in the blackhole that is the Richmond defence.

We've decided that the tribe has spoken and as a result we are to make the changes that the majority of the tribe wanted. Stay tuned ;D
There will be some major editing of this thread later this evening (read when I am home and have time)

We dont have the cattle. The sooner people work that out, the better.
would have to say your 100% right.
Cattle we lack and its not Dimma's fault. his coaching has let himself down at times i agree with that and dont like the fact that he favours some vrs others, but you have to have quality to play quality.
We have beaten no-one and it shows against quality opposition. We have been owned by the Hawks, Blues and Pies.
I hate to say it we are only half way through a rebuild and until the likes of Edwards, Mcguane, Gus, Browne, Thursfield, Hislop etc find other homes we will always be behind the 8 ball in our development
-
6 weeks ago we were ranked no 1 in the league for kicking efficiency.

Ok - as I said previously the tribe has spoken and as a result we've edited this thread because of the number of complaints we had about it in its original form.
Keep in mind we have to a degree set a precedent here by moving the "goal posts" based on what so many wanted.
Reminder: Everyone is to stick to the topic, no excuses
-
LMFAO @ people complaining about an AFL coach getting called a liar on a forum. Would have told 'em to cop a big one myself, WP...but you're a better bloke than I am.

-Disappointed with overall censoring of this thread.
-Bit peeved that my post about coaches telling lies got modified. Talk about overkill, I didn't even name anyone! Are we afraid of the AFL coaches association might sue OER for saying coaches tell fibs :help (fibs are lies btw)
I always thought OER was what it was, I enjoy all points of view, I also enjoy the balance of news and opinion, regardless of whether I agree with it or not. Even though OER is an extremely reliable and informative source on the news, PR and promotional front, it also contains opinions which range from the sublime to the ridiculous. If I wanted modified, marketing team spun fairy floss I would just subscibe to the rfc site and be done with. Yes, I'd like to read a range of opinions on here, ranging from the suits who donate large chunks of cash via coterie groups, joe family from Bay 15, thru to the drunk who can hardly stand up in the standing area. They are the types of people I see at the footy and I wanna know what they all think, warts and all.
X can get pretty extreme after a big loss, I don't think that's news to anyone who has been reading this forum for any length of time. So what. There is one poster in here, a self proclaimed champion country footballer that I cannot stand, I avoid talking in the same thread as him he's that bad, but I don't think he should be censored. To me it's just like sidestepping some dog crap on the footpath. But funnily I will actually look at it as I walk right by. I don't know why I look at it, but I do. Same with his posts, same with Andrew Bolt, don't like what I'm reading but I do anyway.
We are now trying to write off the shocker that was last Saturday (in our own ways of course), but sorry WP, but you are having a bit of a shocker yourself with your over the top response to the measly couple of critics of this thread.
-
The tribe is divided.

I vote this as thread for 2011
WP having a shocker...LMFAO. Seriously out of form you are
Imaging if we get pumped by the Bombers. WP id close the site down

I agree with Hooter, I am more offended by that poo as well. That's what those stupid yellow faces are for. ::)

In Dimma we trust.
-
The tribe should be careful what they wish for! WP did ask where we as mods draw the line given this thread has attracted so much attention when others in the past of a similar nature haven't. It's fair enough for X or anyone to start a thread and ask and question why certain players with poor footskills or whatever are playing based on what Dimma has previously said but to call him a "liar" full stop in the thread title in bold print ended up being an issue and has distracted from the OP's main point given most of the thread has ended up being a debate/discussion about the merits of having a thread called 'Dimma a liar' :P. We as mods did what we felt best for the thread and to try and get discussion back onto the OP's main point.
-
The tribe should be careful what they wish for!
Exactly!
Be disappointed in me, say I am out of form or whatever but we/I posed the question and the feedback was clear.
Some view it as the "minoirty" view my "Inbox" and it wasn't a minority. So a decision was made
In this case we decided to give the tribe what they wanted.
And you know what? The response to it has been exactly what I expected it would be.
As Mr OE pointed out sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for because you may not like what you end up getting, the edited version of this thread is the perfect example
Whack me as much as you like over this - point has been made. ;) ;D
:thumbsup
-
well all i can say is
Julia Gillard LIED TO AUSTRALIA about the carbon tax
Dimma lied to fans when he said he will only select players that can kick, this yr his promise to as and his rule only applies to tuck
now if all you precious fans get offended by that suck it up princesses as its fact, dimma did say that, and he hasnt lived by his word this yr, that means that comment he made was a lie!!!!
now all u people im not suggesting dimma lies about everything but here he has been caught out
Edtied: insulting all other posters
-
you have been asked a number of times to provide a 22 with good footskills.
This you cannot do.
So perhaps you could explain how it is lying if he has no choice.
This too you will not be able to do.
Perhaps you could also explain how after 9 round we had the best kicking efficiency in the league, if dimma had lied about picking only people with good footskills.
This as well you will not be able to do.
But no doubt you will continue with you attention seeking rant, despite all logic and common sense saying you are plain wrong.
There are plenty of adjectives to describe such ignorant dogma, but I'll leave that for you to work out. Just don't let your brain explode from the overload.

Its the players who put out dribble last week, and the players who need to rectify themselves.

Maybe Dimma should have deflected the blame away from himself whilst instilling self belief in the players by saying, " We have injuries at the moment and those who we have picked to replace them have crap foot skills, thats why they have been with Coburg to begin with. The supporters called for Gus' head but when i play Andrew Browne, who is still clearly not of AFL standard, the supporters still go nuts! I have got rid of half of the dead wood i inherited at this joint and i still have half to go, most of whom played Saturday. These kids still have good foot skills but, if you had played footy for a long period of time you would all know, that when you are getting smashed the first thing to fall away is the skills. It's symptomatic of a young team. I am doing my best with a list of which half are still developing!"

Now I'm not calling Dimma a liar but had username suggested that " your turn to go" was the comment he had not lived up to rather than "can't kick" he maybe would have a point. There are a few who have shirked the issue and I'm not going to name names but one player whose name rhymes with Shaun Grigg springs to mind.
This while Shane Tuck languishes in the 2 might reek of a compromised standard.

Yep I think anyone who watches the Tiges closely saw that. Houli does it too often also but at least when he does it you can see he tries hard to make up for it in other ways.
That was so disappointing to see Grigg play like that. Thought we'd got a steal there but not sure now. Needs a week off maybe ?

sheesh what a lack of patience. there is every likelyhood more hidings like the one just gone will happen.this yr and next.
and unless we trade for a shedload of experienced players we are likely to at best tread water next yr when we delist 10 more as we should. when are people ever going to realise we are in early rebuild and you dont turn things around in two or 3 yrs.
imo we are up for at least two more heavy culls likely 3. that is 8 plus players for the next 3 yrs that will be over half the list.
one other reason why we are likely to struggle again next yr is the simple fact its our older types, the ones who should be leading the way are the ones who need to go the most.
personally i dont think we are a chance of being a genuine top 8 for two yrs. it probably wont happen until enough of the kids become consistent up to standard afl players and that takes time and patience theres also no guarantee that the majority will do that. it has been shown lots of times yhat very ordinary sides can scrape into the 8.
-
Agree with claw.
Getting some genuine talent at the pointy end but building depth takes time after the Wallet clean out.
The recruiters cannot be expected to make every post a winner in a short space of time, its simply unrealistic.
We're at least 2-3 years away yet before weaker links are weeded out and players in key posts mature sufficiently.
Too many fell for the early season media hype hence the amount of anger around. Patient is obviously very thin in most Tiger supporters these days.
-
ur right Clawman.
That's whats gonna happen...but we can still speak our stupid, erratic minds in moments of frustration.
On that they can depend ;D

Yep as Magic said we are 2-3 years away at least until our list matures and that's based on our recruiting and development being spot on. The comp. right now has about 4 top sides when at full strength (Coll, Geel, Carl and Haw) then a big gap to a large chunk of mediorce sides made up of a mixture of up and coming young sides (Melb) and teams on the slide (St K). Then there's another gap to the bottom 5 sides. We are in reality in that last bottom group based on where our list is at. We can on our day pinch wins against the mediorce types but we'll always cop a flogging from the top sides. We still have a long long way to go as frustrating as it is especially after sitting through annihlations like last week :scream.

"In the forward half I thought Ben Griffiths and Jayden Post showed some encouraging signs. It was only Ben's seventh AFL game, and Jayden's 18th.
We simply have to get as much experience into these players as possible for us to develop a team capable of achieving sustained success."
Then you drop Post and don't give me the "team balance" BS.
Dimma, what is the go. :help

A penis. One definition I have heard is a penis that is wider than it is long. Keeping that definition in mind gives a lot of satisfaction when calling someone a idiot. :thumbsup
