Plan your trip - Swan Street Bridge works
Work has commenced on an upgrade to Swan Street Bridge. Lane closures on the bridge will lead to traffic congestion and additional travel time.
We therefore recommend fans plan ahead and take an alternative route, or avoid driving all the way to the MCG and catch public transport instead.
Arrive early
Security procedures such as bag checks and patron scanning will again be in place.
This process will take time, so please arrive early to ensure you are in the seat at the first bounce.
It is highly recommended that you are at the stadium by around 6.30pm, as those who arrive later may miss the start of the match.
Exiting Yarra Park
After the final siren, vehicles parked in Yarra Park will be held back for a period of time until pedestrians have safely cleared the precinct. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Pies take team approach to stopping Dusty
Marc McGowan
afl.com.au
March 29, 2017
SOLVING the Dustin Martin riddle will not be a one-man job, Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley says.
Richmond's gun midfielder-forward is fresh from a 33-disposal, four-goal effort against Carlton and looms as the Pies' major stumbling block to a first win for the season on Thursday night.
Buckley hinted at a multi-faceted approach to stopping Martin, as well as help across the field, while conceding a complete blanket job was unlikely.
"You've got to put a fair bit of time in, (but) the modern philosophy is you don't put too much focus on one, because sides can kill with a thousand cuts in many different ways," Buckley said.
"So we're not ignoring (Trent) Cotchin, we're not ignoring (Dion) Prestia and (Josh) Caddy (or) the fact that their small forwards have got speed and put a lot of pressure on.
"We saw Dusty in the flesh (at Moe in the JLT Community Series) and watched him in round one and you can't help but be impressed with the shape he's in.
"We've got multiple options, but not all of them are going to work, either, because he's a good player and good players find a way to play well (and) he's almost impossible to tackle."
Collingwood will be without small forward Jamie Elliott (left ankle) for at least another week, with Buckley ruling out the 104-gamer.
But James Aish, a late withdrawal in round one with a virus that became tonsillitis, and Tim Broomhead are in contention to return for Travis Varcoe, who will miss through suspension.

Very important game for Damien Hardwick.
A "can't win" game for the Tiggers
-
They had the round 2 nightmare on fox last night and our side that played wasn't great and has changed a lot since
We had Menadue, Short, C Ellis, Townsend, Vickery, Grimes (missing after half time), Hampson, Lambert
we are much stronger this year.

One of them, yes...

He didn't train hard that week.

Tigers target Fasolo as key to downing Pies
AFL.com.au
March 29, 2017
RICHMOND is confident it has the small defenders to handle Collingwood's forward line on Thursday night, targeting Alex Fasolo as the key to shutting down the improved Magpies.
Collingwood went into round one with "top-heavy" trio Jesse White, Mason Cox and Darcy Moore, but White (one goal) was the only tall to hit the scoreboard in a 15-point loss to the Western Bulldogs.
Fasolo was the Magpies' standout forward, kicking 3.3, while Scott Pendlebury and Steele Sidebottom booted two goals each from the midfield.
Tall defender David Astbury said the Tigers' JLT Community Series clash against the Magpies gave them confidence they had the smalls to handle Fasolo and Co.
"They had an impact in the first quarter of the JLT, but then we looked at it at quarter-time and our smaller defenders did a really good job after that," Astbury said on Wednesday.
"We've got the capability to do it and I definitely think we've got the personnel to combat that.
"[Fasolo] was in awesome form last week, so it's important we get on top of him early."
Richmond went into round one with small defenders Reece Conca and Taylor Hunt, with versatile backman Dylan Grimes also capable of playing on small forwards.
The Tigers have redeployed Nick Vlastuin to the midfield, but coach Damien Hardwick could consider sending him back into defence if needed on Thursday night.
"That's the beauty of Nick, he's a really well-rounded footballer, he can spend time forward, in the midfield or definitely he's been effective when used in the back six," Astbury said.
"He's someone who, if we get in a bit of strife back there, we can definitely stick him in the back six and he will always do a job.
"He's such a natural competitor, it doesn't really matter where he plays he's always going to have an impact."
Astbury said he was looking forward to watching the battle between a strengthened Richmond on-ball division and the highly-rated Magpies' midfielders.
Recruit Dion Prestia shapes as a key player for the Tigers, but he was on light duties at training on Wednesday, completing no running in the 30-minute captain's run.
Astbury said the Tigers had not dwelled on their horror round-two loss last year against Collingwood, with Brodie Grundy's goal in the dying seconds starting a six-match losing streak for the club.

Richmond v Collingwood: much has changed in a year
The Australian
March 30, 2017
Greg Denham
Senior Sports Writer
Melbourne
At the corresponding time last year, the pre-game discussion before Richmond played Collingwood centred on how many goals Travis Cloke needed to kick for the Magpies to open their account in 2016.
Well, the new Bulldog booted just one goal from nine touches after missing two easy set shots, and the Pies still won, albeit by just one point after trailing by 17 deep into time on.
The result was sealed with four seconds left on the clock by Brodie Grundy from close range after he somehow became loose and took possession in a frantic pack.
But the real damage for Collingwood was done by a personal-best six-goal performance from Alex Fasolo, who booted two in time on in the final quarter to rob Richmond of winning their first two rounds of the season for the first time since 2005.
After being oh so close to a confidence-boosting start to the year, that narrow defeat was the start of a six-match losing streak that had the Tigers out of play early as a finals chance.
One year on and the day after Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley pondered how it was possible to limit the brilliance of Richmond star Dustin Martin, his Tigers teammate and key defender David Astbury remembered Fasolo, who will again need to lead the way in the absence of Jamie Elliott.
“We’re going to be up against it this week, as we are all weeks,” Astbury said yesterday.
“Players, particularly like Alex Fasolo, he was in awesome form last week so it’s important we get on top of him early. “They’re a formidable team, particularly in their midfield, so we’re going to be well-challenged, but I think our boys are up to it.”
Fasolo was impressive last week with three goals in a pretty ordinary Collingwood forward line that lacked pace before their gallant 14-point loss to the Western Bulldogs.
The Pies opened the season with a top-heavy forward structure of Jesse White, Mason Cox and Darcy Moore, but of the trio, only White managed to kick a goal. They remained in the contest for a long time due to an outstanding midfield, including multiple goal kickers Scott Pendlebury and Steel Sidebottom.
Cox was last night omitted, with Collingwood recalling smaller runners Tim Broomhead, who has not played since round seven last year, and James Aish, a late withdrawal last week.
Richmond made three changes, including Ben Lennon, Jayden Short and Kane Lambert at the expense of Taylor Hunt, Kamdyn McIntosh and Sam Lloyd.
Astbury hinted that defender-turned-midfielder Nick Vlastuin was versatile enough to run with one of the Pies midfielder stars — Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Taylor Adams or Adam Treloar.
“That’s the beauty of Nick, he’s a well-rounded footballer, he can spend time forward, in the midfield or definitely he’s been effective when used in the back six,” Astbury said. “He’s someone who, if we get in strife back there, we can definitely stick him in the back six and he will always do a job.”

All about the midfield tonight. We can't allow Grundy, Treloar, Pendlebury & Sidebottom to dominate the centre clearances and inside 50s.

Crap kick by Griffs.
Anyway, good forward pressure. Butler off to Cotch .. stands and goals :gotigers

Our transitional play and defending is pathetic so far. Lucky the Pies are missing.

Keeping us in it
Houli back kicking means we are gunna turn it over

Holding the ball. Free to Titch in the pocket who misses everything :P.

Doing dumb things inside F50 so far.

Another Pies free kick ::).

Frees 8-2 against us

Getting punished across in our F50 for sloppy play and poor decision making going In50. That's allowing them to cut through us off their half-back line.
-
Nanks lace out :o to Prestia in the pocket. Misses and a throw-in. Dion gets another go from a free directly in front. Misses again :scream.
Rich 16
Coll 16
We've had 10 more inside 50s apparently.

Quarter time

Collingwood 2.4-16
Goals: Cotchin, Edwards
One word: Sloppy!

Shorts disposal out of the back half already makes him better than hunt

Jack and Griffs need to lift. Geez, making Howe look like a star :scream.
A goody ... another free to Collingwood and another ::).
-
Another short pass to HF that misses :banghead.

So you can duck into a tackle and get tackled and it's play on ::).

Getting screwed by the maggots

Rioli wide open and Caddy kicks it towards grundy vs Lennon :banghead.

Richmond 2.4 3.5-23
Collingwood 2.4 4.9-33
Pathetic biased umpiring :banghead and shocking sloppy play from us :banghead

well, raped by umpies and crap playing combo bonus pack
Extra fried potato cake. Extra groin cheese
-
Vice captains are having a shocker. Jack is playing useless footy and Rance is already buggered. What happens if you haven't had a preseason.
Captains standing up and playing well.
-
Conca may as well put a Collingwood jumper on. Every time he gets it he gives it straight back.
-
Absolutely destroying us off half back. It seems like we put all our eggs in one basket with the F50 pressure that when they do break free it's all over
We're just giving the Pies easy get out possession with our poor decision making and sloppy disposal going forward.
We're also too many times being outnumbered and isolated at the contest. A sign that too many Tigers' workrate off the ball has been below par.
The continual breakdown linking up going forward on transition says our teamwork has also been poor. Cotch's goal and the time the ump screwed Prestia with that "advantage" call were the only times we were clean from D50 to F50. We've been too often too stagnant and been held up and forced to kicked down the line.
-
Big quarter coming up. We can't dish up more crap like that 2nd qtr.
-
Stupid Griffs.
-
OH stuff ME DEAD!!! THis umpire...
-
Back to 2016 dumb footy :banghead.
-
So now you can't even check the position of your oppo when you defend?
-
OH stuff ME DEAD!!! THis umpire...
This qtr all 3 Pies frees were there. We're just got stupid footballers.
Poor leadership from Jack giving away another in frustration.
-
NO stuffing TACKLE??? WTF!!!

Now that's getting screwed by the umpire! Clear free for holding the ball to Caddy ::) :banghead

Griffs scragged in the ruck = no free ::).

We're back!

did caddy just squib contact ?
-
The problem with our pressure is too mAny times they focus on the ball carrier. All they have to do is find the gap and they're out.

Nanks has been good for us since he's arrived but that was a 'Hampson' backwards tap to no Tigers and the opposition's advantage.

we getting smashed in the guts

Don't know how we are winning. Will mean a fair bit if we can win and play like absolute poo.
-
Umps rolling us
-
Leaders stood up that qtr and we started running and playing on quickly.
He hadn't done much but Butler playing on and taking on the Pie chaser before getting legged might have been the turning point. The whole side lifted its workrate and turned the game around when it looked early 3rd qtr that the Pies would kick away.

Bring it home Tiges

The umpires were diabolical, the rules changed depending what jumper you were wearing just happy we got out with the win. Griff was taking some screamers, think he has done his back again though
-
Not sure if I understand our ruckman actually having an impact on the game
Is he supposed to do that?
-
Not much science but all guts...sometimes you just have to do it that way. Liked Lambert, Short and Lennons contributions when it mattered, very good 'ins'. In Soldo out Griff next week.
-
Is our ruckman supposed to have 21 disposals?

we beat blues and pies and put buckley on his last legs. Cant not be happy with those results.

No hunt no loss.
And lennon very dangerous.
About time you lot apologise

Eddie acting like a fool :lol

Seriously lacking some class but the pressure was top shelf. Collingwood could have buried us by half time but the team just refused. Loved it.

out griff? why whats wrong. Cut his toe nail or just his usual output

Griff injured not sure if concussion or ribs ? But before that I thought his output was okay, much better than last week.

Concussion.....again. Also, I like the idea of a dynamic forward line with just Jack and at times a resting ruck man. Play Lennon at CHF. Soldo has played 3 great reserve games and deserves a shot.

I actually thought he was worse.

SEN player ratings
David ASTBURY – 4
Took White and had a generally hard night chasing the in-form Magpie. Stuck to his guns.
Dan BUTLER – 3
Eight disposals and a goal, the odd good moment, but things didn’t fall his way quite as they did in Round 1.
Josh CADDY – 5
Played forward a fair bit where he was a presence but managed only one goal. Fair night at the office.
Jason CASTAGNA – 3
Pressure forward bobbed up occasionally but didn’t trouble the scoreboard attendant.
Reece CONCA – 6
Steady game (18 disposals) and stood his strong body under some high balls in defence.
Trent COTCHIN – 8
Tigers’ leading disposal winner (26) and topped hard-edged game with two goals. Last 10 minutes superb.
Shane EDWARDS – 6
Created problems early up forward despite misses; sharked a well-read goal at a stoppage and made a crucial third-quarter intercept.
Brandon ELLIS – 5
Freak snapshot in third term to trigger a momentum swing. Otherwise quiet off a wing.
Ben GRIFFITHS – 2
Speccy in second term but head hit ground after a similar attempt in third. Pretty much summed up his night.
Shaun GRIGG – 5
Unusually unproductive until managed some crucial touches including lovely goal in final term.
Dylan GRIMES – 4
On Fasolo and although barely touched the ball probably took the honours due to the Magpie’s shocking finishing.
Bachar HOULI – 6
Slow start but wound up having a good night charging off half back; even managed a goal pushing forward late.
Kane LAMBERT – 3
Came off the bench to get involved with a dozen disposals forward of centre. Will it be enough to hold his place?
Ben LENNON – 5
Only six kicks and three tackles but seemed more involved than that. Lively at half forward.
Dustin MARTIN – 7
Wearing a shiner after early head clash. Kept in check but his possessions were telling and two late goals buried the Pies.
Toby NANKERVIS – 7
Gave Grundy something to think about, especially with his marking around ground. Tigers have a good one here.
Dion PRESTIA – 5
Puts himself in all the right places, although he often kicked under pressure and missed targets.
Alex RANCE – 6
Good duel with Moore, who he found slippery, but still a strong contributor.
Jack RIEWOLDT – 5
Thrown into the midfield after invisible first half which got him going. Two goals were important to the comeback.
Daniel RIOLI – 5
Worked hard between the 50-metre lines. Pace was a factor – this guy is becoming a player.
Jayden SHORT – 6
Returned in the back pocket, picked up Broomhead and won the contest after conceding some early touches.
Nick VLASTUIN – 5
Lined up on Mayne and had the edge. Went hard at every contest from half back.

Couple of things:-
Sledges to Treloar - who has the best list?
Sledges to Collingwood fans - No Wells, no Collingwood
Great capt game, Dusty chimed in when it mattered, Nank might not be the best trainer but he's our best ruckman.
Great ticker by the whole team to get back into the game in the 3rd qtr.
Forward pressure not like last week but still good.
Teams resolve solid ATM.

I'd like to add I really liked young Shorts game, he's a lovely kick and shows a clear head with ball in hand.
No more Taylor Hunt plse
-
Couple of things:-
Sledges to Treloar - who has the best list?
Sledges to Collingwood fans - No Wells, no Collingwood
Great capt game, Dusty chimed in when it mattered, Nank might not be the best trainer but he's our best ruckman.
Great ticker by the whole team to get back into the game in the 3rd qtr.
Forward pressure not like last week but still good.
Teams resolve solid ATM.
Good summary, HRT. It was really pleasing to see us lift ourselves as a team and fight back when we looked gone early in the 3rd.

Shocking first half
Better 2nd
Best bit is when we got 3 goals down, they didn't drop their heads, they kept fighting to get back...haven't seen that for a very long time :clapping
-
Great game by Cotchin. Deserves considerable credit for the way he played.

Agreed. Don't think the youngsters can be underestimated here.
Butler and Rioli started taking it on a getting their hands on it a bit, 2 super clutch goals. Castagan seems to get caught a bit but did a couple good things

Is unfairly targeted for the woes of the RFC
