I almost feel sorry for North supporters .
Right now , just like Hawthorn , Melbourne , Collingwood and Fremantle fans before them ,they are thinking - we are going ok . Richmond are overrated. Their list is very ordinary. I smell an upset . The tigers only have 4 good players .
There's only one thing that awaits the Kangas on Sunday and thats the Richmond reality check .

Let's see how many frees big boy Ben brown gets :shh

The AFL website is tipping us to win by around 4 goals.

SUMMARY
Just how good are the Kangaroos? It's been a media love-in for Brad Scott and his men since Saturday night's successful SCG siege against the Swans. That win gave North extra credibility after wins over St Kilda and Carlton preceded an impressive defeat of Hawthorn. But there is no greater test right now than reigning premier Richmond, which has barely missed a beat since its glorious September run last year. The game brings together the competition's stingiest defences and how the Roos contend with the Alex Rance-led Tigers backline could determine their competitiveness. Jarrad Waite will return after a rest to join a Roos forward line that could include Coleman Medal contender Ben Brown, last week's four-goal hero Mason Wood and skipper Jack Ziebell for the first time in 2018. It's a tough week to road test it, with Rance, David Astbury, Dylan Grimes and Nick Vlastuin waiting for them.
WHERE AND WHEN: Etihad Stadium, Sunday, May 13, 1.10pm AEST
LAST FIVE MEETINGS
R11, 2017, Richmond 14.17 (101) d North Melbourne 9.12 (66) at Etihad Stadium
R11, 2016, North Melbourne 18.16 (124) d Richmond 7.12 (54) at Blundstone Arena
1EF, 2015, North Melbourne 15.15 (105) d Richmond 14.4 (88) at the MCG
R23, 2015, Richmond 16.12 (108) d North Melbourne 10.7 (67) at Etihad Stadium
R6, 2015, North Melbourne 16.13 (109) d Richmond 10.14 (74) at Blundstone Arena
THE SIX POINTS
1. North Melbourne led by two points at half-time in the 2017 contest between the sides before the Tigers kicked eight goals to two in the second half. Dustin Martin picked up the three Brownlow votes with 38 disposals, two goals and six tackles.
2. The Tigers have dominated their opposition in final quarters this season, kicking 253 total points to 130. In the last three games, they've booted 148 points and conceded only 38 in the same period.
3. The clubs have shared the honours with two wins each since late in 2015, but the Roos have been better over a longer period, winning five of seven games since 2013. Richmond hasn't won two in a row against them since 2001.
4. This will be a contest between the two best defences in the competition. Richmond is ranked first, conceding an average of 68 points per game, just ahead of North, which is giving up an average of 69.
5. Another win and the Tigers will be on top of the ladder for four consecutive weeks for the first time since rounds 9-12 in 1995.
6. Mason Wood vaulted 10 spots to a career-high No.411 in the Schick AFL Player Ratings this week thanks to his four-goal haul on Saturday night against Sydney.
IT'S A BIG WEEK FOR …
Robbie Tarrant will either get the job on Tigers spearhead Jack Riewoldt or play a key supporting role for Scott Thompson. This will be the Roos' litmus test against Richmond's frenetic forward line – and Tarrant, arguably in All Australian form, is the backline leader.
PREDICTION: Richmond by 25 points

Norf saying they want "to earn respect" by beating us.

-
It's funny how you now see our old bad and desperate traits in other clubs. I remember Spud demanding respect like this before we played Essendon in the 2000-01 prime. We got flogged by 70 points :wallywink.
Of course, we are North's 'Grand Final'. About the only time they get to play in front of a crowd.
ps. Some of us also have long memories such remembering this North cheer squad banner. I believe we've won 3 finals and a flag since then while they've done nothing for the past two decades :wallywink :lol.

We are much better than they are. I'm tipping a 45 point win.

Want to go halves in a 1k bet on the Tiges by 40+ ?
-
I rate Ben Brown as one of the best draft picks of the century outside the first round. A mobile half forward who can ruck, Mark and is an ok kick at pick 47, wowee.

yep, went undrafted through 3 or 4 drafts , moved to Melbourne & played for Werribee and got picked by NM

An ok kick? The guy has a career avg goal kicking accuracy of close to 70%. I’d say he’s a lot better than just an ok kick.
-
Ben brown is a gun. Wasted at nmfc
-
Wow is his kicking that good. I stand corrected.
-
He looks like his parents are brother and sister.
-
Wow is his kicking that good. I stand corrected.
he's actually a very good kick
-
I’d like to see us kick straight at goal.
Our goal kicking had been atrocious all season.
God help the team when we actual kick straight. Let’s hope it’s this week. :pray
-
Agree kicking for goal has not been great all year. Game against Freo a good example. Agree would love us to kick straight this week.
-
Ben brown is a gun. Wasted at nmfc
Everything is wasted down at NMFC, including their fans, generally by about Wednesday
-
I am looking forward to Towner making their defenders poop.

Fast-finishing Tigers to test North in AFL
Reigning premiers Richmond have blown the opposition away in the final quarter over the last month.
SBS
13 May 2018[/i]
Richmond's frightening ability to play better for longer means a stern test of North Melbourne's AFL improvement.
The Kangaroos have been one of the great stories so far this season, with outstanding upset wins over Hawthorn and Sydney.
But in Sunday's clash at Etihad Stadium, they come up against the Tigers and their rampaging last quarters.
In Richmond's last four matches, they have outscored the opposition in the last term by a whopping 32 goals to seven.
"That's what separates the best teams from the ones who are chasing ... the ability to execute for four quarters," said North's backline coach Josh Drummond.
"That's just a credit to Richmond. I'm not sure necessarily if they're playing any better in the last quarter, but they just continually play at a high level."
Richmond's consistent excellence is what North crave.
Drummond notes that in between the Kangaroos' great wins over the Hawks and Swans, they lost to Port Adelaide.
"It gives us a great sighter as to where we're at," Drummond said of playing the AFL's pace setters.
"We've certainly made some strong improvements in certain areas, but what Richmond do - and what we're striving to do - is do it week-in, week-out."
Majak Daw will return for the Kangaroos and he will go into defence.
Daw has been a revelation so far in his new backline role, alongside fellow tall defenders Robbie Tarrant and Scott Thompson.
But given Jack Riewoldt is the Tigers' only tall forward, and their smaller goalsneaks are so dangerous, it will be fascinating to see how the North defenders match up.
North and Richmond boast the best defensive records in the AFL so far this season, but the Tigers by far have the more potent attack.
"If we can maintain pressure on the ball, a taller defence can be really strong because we force them to kick it," Drummond said.
"But if we don't get pressure on the ball, then obviously their quick blokes are going to look pretty quick. It's a fine line.
"Maj is the quickest bloke on our list - he can cover the ground as well as anyone.
"If you're a one-trick pony, you can get found out pretty quick."

Butler slipping over again!!
Not as bad as Bad as though
If Bad is Bachar :thumbsup
Hopefully Dimma asks them to take their rollerblades off.
-
Bit of Zantuck with that kick from Towner
-
The problems all begin with workrate especially in the guts. We're getting beaten in the contested footy (Cunnington killing us) and our tackling pressure was down that qtr. We also butchering the ball and gifting Macmillan the ball across our HF line. Dimma will be loosing it in the huddle.
Kangaroos were able to win the ball in the contest (38-31 contested possessions), defend strongly (tackles 17-10), and use the ball well (kicking efficiency 65 percent to 57 percent).
The 23 contested possessions by Ben Cunnington is the most a player has had in the first three quarters of a game this season.
Jamie Macmillan has team-highs for intercept possessions (seven) and spoils (six), and offensively has contributed 17 disposals with 100 percent kicking efficiency.

Good hard fought win .
-
Watch all the talk media how brave roos were lol nothing for us
-
Brilliant Captain's performance. Cotch deserves enormous credit for his game. Good games from Caddy, Lambert and Vlastuin as well.
-
Richmond d North Melbourne and the Umpires. A great win 22 players vs 25 and we still won.
-
I thought winning a flag would cure me of these nervous wreck moments late in games where I sit and pray we don't do anything Richmondy.
It appears it hasn't.
But a massive Phew. :scared
-
I’m not an umpire basher but today was disgraceful. I wish the club would come out and say something. Surely they are concerned with the numbers this year. It’s as clear as the nose on your face.
Vlastuin BOG for mine. He was sensational.
A really good team effort. (Except Butler)
-
Cotch vlastuin caddy best for mine nank and Rance were huge that last qtr.
Butler needs a run in the vfl and think Stengle is deserving of a call up.
Lost contested possessions comfortably again today obviously big reason is that dusty got none of it but Prestia is also a big loss to us in the midfield.
-

Ben Brown dive for a free kick, should be reported
-
I thought we looked really tired today, physically in the last qtr, but mentally from halftime.
I felt it was the 3 games in 13 days catching up on us.
So a good win for the boys.
Hopefully we catch back up on the 7 day break before West Coast

Brilliant Captain's performance. Cotch deserves enormous credit for his game. Good games from Caddy, Lambert and Vlastuin as well.
x2. :thumbsup

Poor crowd really. I didn’t go. I hate Etihad, can’t stand the place. Did the tiger faithful show up or were many like me?

The Etihad crowd was described on the AFL website by Ashley Browne as a "healthy mother's day crowd".
In short, a typical c##p turnout for a North game anywhere.

Just under 30k was the crowd. More Tigers than N0rt supporters
Have to say umpire number 11, Curtis Deboy is the worse ump in the comp.

And that is an achievement not to be understated

A reminder for the media and Norf fans of where both clubs sit playing list wise :whistle. So much for those "young" and "inexperienced" Roos ::).

Ben Brown dive for a free kick, should be reported
Just don't get Brown, leading the Coleman, but super slow, only gives one effort and leads with the arms fully extended and dives as soon as contact is made.

He's an odd player. Nothing special, reminds me of a suburban footballer, yet he is leading the Coleman. That long run up is almost awkward to watch.

The momentum was well and truly in their favour after that disgrace of an effort. 12 metres out, just kick it yourself son.
I'm waiting for the day one of our blokes marks in the goal square and chips it 25 metres backwards to another player.

Mason Wood > Ben Brown :shh

All clear from the MRP for us.
Ziebell has copped a week for kneeing Conca in the head.

lol Ziebell. What a poo truck masquerading as a decent player.
-
Glad to see our tackle count against North was high as it was against Freo.
-
Couldn't watch on the day but just watched the replay. Tough game of footy that 2 years ago we lose. Finals like ferociousness and we responded really well. They through the kitchen sink at us.
Great win tigers..
-
Yeah it was a great win.
I find myself in unfamiliar waters.
7+ minutes to go, the ball flies high towards a north player and conca pulls off a miraculous spoil (which should have ended up as a goal, great effort.
The unfamiliar part for me was calling out "CONCA", can't believe I said that.
Damn you conca for making me like you a little :thumbsup

TRENT COTCHIN vs BEN CUNNINGTON
Cotchin led the Tigers to an important win over the Kangaroos and played a starring role, racking up a game and season-high 155 points.
He ended up scoring 12 more points than Ben Cunnington who smashed the contested possession record to finish with 32 for the match.
So why did Cotchin outscore Cunnington?
The answer is clangers. Cunnington lost 37 points as a result of negative acts compared to Cotchin’s 13 points – a swing of 24 points between the two.
