My guess (in chronological order):

Ian Stewart
Paul Sproule
Barry Rowlings
Darren Gaspar*
Houli
Prestia
Nankervis
Lynch

* I would have others already named higher than Gaspar.

Don't forget John Pitura!  Plus, the unforgettable Terry Wallace!

Ohhhh ... you wanted GOOD players?  Sorry ... my bad.      :santa

Bachar Houli has to be pretty high up there. Got him for nothing and did a lot for the culture of the club and also was white hot during finals. Also biceps.

#1 has to be Shaun Hampson for bringing Megan gale to punt road.

Fair few Tassie boys on the list

Generally speaking our trading of players from other clubs over the last 25 years has been abysmal.

Lets have a look see hey.

1998 - Biddiscombe lol, Hilton sheesh.
1999 - Clinton King , L Cameron 28yo recruit but age aside a good one.
2000 -  ????
2001 - P Hudson, G Stafford at age 27 or 28? who cost us pick 17 in one of the all time strongest drafts.
2002 - Justin Blumfield sheesh. K Johnson we got reamed in the deal.
2003 - N Brown gave up plenty but he was high quality.
2004 - T Simmons
2005 - P Bowden lol.
2006 - G Polak. People dont realise but this trade could have cost us Riewoldt.
2007 - J McMahon and M Morton ffs.
2008 -  A thompson.
2009 - M Farmer god almighty.
2010 - S Grigg was a trade in name only but regardless a good one.
2011 - I Maric, S Morris.
2012 - A Edwards
2013 - S Hampson
2014 - Taylor Hunt as a dfa i suppose that don't count.
2015 - J Townsend, C Yarran.
2016 - Caddy, Nankervis, Prestia.
2017 - 2020 none.
2021 - Tarrant
2022 - Taranto, Hopper.

Happy with:
N Brown
T Simmonds, good player and seriously we traded Fiora for him lol
Polak was good until he wanted into a tram and if you look at how we drafted and traded later that ended up being a bargain, got our man Jack and took Houli for nothing soon after.
Grigg, great trade.
Maric and Morris were great trades too. Maric and spiritual leader and Morris IMO was a gun small defender until the AFL started a campaign against him for taking out blokes' legs.
Towner, cheap and fairytale hero.
Caddy, Nank and Prestia all nailed.
Taranto and Hopper good gets imo.

So we have stunk it up and come good in the last handful of two imo

Was one of my favourites back in the day as a kid. Was very sad when he couldn't get on the park anymore.

Don't think he turned out to be good value due to that but if injuries didn't cruel him I think we'd be collectively happy about it.

Gasper ahead of lynch is ridiculous. Unless I’m missing someone he should really only be behind Prestia. Maybe you could argue nank but I think lynch has had more impact.

Yep absolutely Gas was a good player but nothing on Lynch

Gaspar was clearly the best defender in the entire competition for a period of time

Reckon people forget just how good he was

I’m not saying I have him ahead of Lynch, in fact I’d probably have Lynch ahead of him .. but it’s tight and definitely not “ridiculous” IMO

I remember very well how good he was.

But he didn't deliver premierships and although it's not his fault that the team wasn't as good as 2019 the reality is that Lynch did, so for me he is comfortably ahead of Gas.

Hate it when team success is used to rate individuals

I assume Richo is behind Castagna as a player then?
Georgie was very important in the third quarter against Geelong in 2020 and a triple premiership player .. Richo didn’t deliver premierships so he must be behind Castagna going on the above?

And I dislike when people take the pee, become sarcastic, act ignorant, or use dumb hypotheticals/comparisons for the sake of making an argument.

Gas was great. Lynch is great and won us a flag. To me that puts him comfortably ahead of Gas.

Just his kicking was a problem, took forever to get from hand to foot. Loved him tho, saved us from plenty of beltings….
I do think Lynch in 2019 was one of the all time greatest seasons I’ve seen from a tiger forward. He single handedly kept us going there in a number of games including the prelim
