The WA media pushing to have our game moved from the Gold Coast to Perth given they can now have crowds.
-
from what im reading its likely more than unlikely. The AFL would like nothing else to stuff us over even more, and have us booster the tv ratings with a monster crowd at the same time.
-
I’m reading the opposite with WA teams staying an extra week on the Gold Coast and then playing the derby in round 6.
-
There’s no way any Victorian Club will be going to Perth without having to do the two weeks quarantine. This completely rules out round 5.

yeah i heard that late last night, and we can safely rule out playing the eagles over there.
Assuming the afl dont change the fixture on us that is.
-
The Eagles lose badly again up in Qld and Will Schofield has been reported for headbutting so he may be out for our game against them.
-
They'll at least have supporters. :cheers
-
Will Schofield copped a week from the MRO. So he's out for the Eagles.

-
He would've be replaced by McGovern anyway... :shh
-
We may not be going north to play the Eagles. According to the Age we will be playing Melbourne instead while WCE play Sydney.
I'll take it.

-
It doesnt matter who we play we'll losr coz our players dont seem to be fit or they dont care.
-
Another nail in the coffin for the 2020 season?
-
Yep, we're now playing Melbourne on Sunday according to 3aw.
-
season over, dees will beat us
we will have to play eagles in perth too
-
Gil is holding a press conference at 12:30pm.
-
We will play Melbourne 'away' @ the MCG on Sunday @ 3.35pm.
So we are still a Ch 7 game.

That's really a Mickey mouse competition if it wasn't already laughable.
-
Richmond ... is also navigating its way through a last-minute fixture change.
A phone call early on Monday morning rapidly shifted the entire week for the club, with the game against West Coast on Thursday evening postponed and a clash with Melbourne at the MCG shoehorned into the R5 fixture on Sunday.
"Our club got in contact with us as early as 6am yesterday morning, which is effectively when they found out," he said.
Playing on Thursday night would have been the ideal way to shrug off their form woes, but now the Tigers will have another main training session to work out any faults that have stopped them from firing since the season re-start.

I was thinking about how good stack was in the Melbourne game last year and coincidentally I’m listening to the sacked podcast with Leppa and he mentioned how Stack turned his playing prospects around in a really short time. Went from not being able to run for >15mins to AFL standard in 4 months.
I really hope stack can fire a shot against Melbourne because he’s probably one of the players who could reignite our season
-
Peter Burge on re-adjusting to the fixture change:
"We’re (now) going into a Sunday game this week and our following two games are Sunday games, so our schedule will reflect the same week for the next three weeks, so it was fairly easy to adjust. We gave the players an extra day off on Monday and started our weekly program again today. Our week progresses as normal into Sunday’s game."

Prediction: The Tigers have been struggling since the competition restart. Damien Hardwick's side has lost twice and had a draw in their three games and enter the round in 14th position. A bit like West Coast on Saturday, there's too much talent for the Tigers to lose another game, especially against an opponent in Melbourne who is unlikely to play finals football. Tigers by four goals.

Q. If the Tigers lose to the Dees this weekend they will not be contending for back to back flags?

Agree, let's hope we go out there and win cos I know the dees will be playing their GF this Sunday

Just checked the AFL broadcast guide and it doesn't have us as a channel 7 game. Anybody know any different?

That's where I was referring too. To me it was showing not free to air. Somehow my location had been changed to Canberra :P
-
What I want to see today is a good first quarter, tackling pressure, winning contested footy and clearances, clean possession and taking our chances in front of the sticks.
-
Jack you should have held that but ump that's not holding the ball ::).
-
Good pressure in that first passage.
-
Forced the forward-half turnover. Cotch to Aarts who chips inside 50 to Lynch. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 1.0-6
Melb 0.0-0
-
Talk to each other and show some awareness in defence :banghead.
6 - 6
-
Baker's a dumbarse... :facepalm
-
Can we actually pin the arm in the tackle?
That was holding the man to Kmac.
-
Are we trying to gift them goals? Talk about fumbling and schoolboys mistakes :facepalm.
-
Hmmm :banghead
-
Do we actually train during the week? Skills and decision making haven’t improved in 4 weeks.
-
Will be interesting to see who the couple are that are not going in the hub. There's one at the minute I hope isn't going, horrible out of form
-
Finally some control of the pill.
Short hits up Lynch. Misses from 25 out :P.
7 - 7
-
Another week and another soft gifted goal coast to coast
-
ah there's Lynch's traditional "gimme miss" for the game.... :shh
-
Pathetic.
11 point turnaround to melbourne :banghead
-
We haven't started well here. Season on the line stuff here
-
Edwards & Houli shouldn't be playing if they're not going to the hub.... :shh
-
Oh George :banghead
-
George misses everything for 40 out on the run :P.
-
Max Gawn, thank you
And sadly typical Higgins
-
Well that's a gift shot at goal to us. Higgo intercepts Gawn's kick in defence.
And we miss another gimme :banghead.
8 - 13
-
We are lucky the Dees are as out form as we are :-\
-
LOL. We did our best to stuff that up. Plenty of fumbles and Lynch dropped a sitter.
Higgo gets the goal off one step :gotigers.
Rich 2.2-14
Melb 2.1-13
-
Kmac chips to Rioli 40 out. Goal :gotigers.
Rich 3.2-20
Melb 2.1-13
Our forward pressure is the only thing that is good though.
-
Good intent today. Much improved.
-
Gee we can be dumb :banghead
-
Hang your head in shame Baker, that was pathetic. Gifted them a goal
And stupid handball with 11 seconds to go
Should have kicked it
-
What was that aimless handball Baker?! :banghead
Gifting them a goal in the last sec :banghead
-
Lots of mistakes but at least we are having a go today.
-
Hardwick should tear strips off them here. Liam Baker pathetic in defence right there 2 or 3 times.
-
Dumbarse Baker with two goal assists for Melbourne so far... >:(
-
Hang your head in shame Baker, that was pathetic. Gifted them a goal
And stupid handball with 11 seconds to go
Shpuld have kicked it
He has been worst on ground by a mile
-
1/4 time
Richmond 3.2-20
Melbourne 3.1-19
Goals: Lynch, Higgins, Rioli.
Only positives are our forward pressure, Cotch leading the way in the contest, and that Melbourne has been making as many mistakes as we have. That's the only reason we're in front. Otherwise, we've been butchering it and all of Melbourne's goals have come from our U10s brainfades.
-
Lots of mistakes but at least we are having a go today.
Agree but having a go won't win us the game.
Dusty? Looks totally disinterested, back to very bad habits of not defending in any way, refusing to chase just corraling (If you can call it that)
-
Closely followed by Riewoldt who is also crap
-
I hope if we bring the effort mistakes will be lessened and we'll win. Need to win today. Just get a win doesnt matter how.
-
We are getting smashed in clearances
-
Im liking some of Baltas early effort.
-
Lynch wearing a glove. Hurt his right hand.
-
We are getting smashed in clearances
Isnt Viney out of contract end of this year. He would go ok with us i reckon.
-
Lynch wearing a glove. Hurt his right hand.
Actually had a finger taped from the first bounce?
-
Half-arsed tackling not stopping the ball movement still a major issue... :banghead
-
Aarts goal? back heeled it?
-
When you're ready
-
Point
-
Pushed the padding. Point.
21 - 19
-
They are a lot stricter on HTB this week.
Free to Nank 25m out against Petrecca for making no attempt. Goal! :gotigers
Take it!
Rich 4.3-27
Melb 3.1-19
-
Good improvement. Bring intent and we are more than competitive.
-
Lambert is so out form. Ran over another loose ball.
Dusty not far behind. Fumbly and flatfooted.
-
Cut out the cute stuff Baker. That was almost another turnover.
-
Bakers playing like he thinks his maurice rioli. He should stick to the basics.
-
A bit of good old Richmond footy :clapping
-
Aarts did well there. To Chol who finds Jack 25 out in the pocket. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 5.3-33
Melb 3.1-19
-
Gee Choi is a beautiful kick
-
Going well. Tigers switched on. Need to cut out the rubbish and we'll win by at least 6 goals.
-
Why wasn't that holding ball
You got one ump paying it every time
Another calling for ball ups everytime :banghead
-
Looking better
-
Good transition from D50. Ends with George 25 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 6.3-39
Melb 3.1-19
-
Why wasn't that holding ball
You got one ump paying it every time
Another calling for ball ups everytime :banghead
Was that that one-handed handball by the melbourne player on the wing?
-
Im so pleased with the effort. This is good.
-
More Tiger footy :clapping
That's more like it
-
That Prestia smother
That's tiger footy,
-
Have to say, so far been pleasantly surprised by Aarts
Goal to Lambert
-
Dusty looks injured
-
Goal from a forward stoppage :clapping. Nank good against Gawn. Lambert snaps the goal :gotigers
Rich 7.3-45
Melb 3.1-19
-
Melbourne are really bad. Good booster for the boys
-
Liked Baltas game
-
Excited by Baltas performance
-
Liked Baltas game
Yep
Have to just keep playing him
-
Awareness Higgo :banghead.
-
Really poor by Higgins
:banghead
-
Liked Baltas game
Yep
Have to just keep playing him
Playing his best game in defence at AFL level by a mile.
-
Best qtr since the season restarted
And that should have been a free to Jack, grabbed by the arm
-
Take the shot Dustin.... >:(
-
Dusty is either crook or can’t be stuffed
-
Best qtr since the season restarted
And that should have been a free to Jack, grabbed by the arm
It was Lynch not Jack
-
Half-time
Richmond 3.2 7.3-45
Melbourne 3.1 3.2-20
Goals: Lynch, Riewoldt, Higgins, Rioli, Castagna, Lambert, Nankervis.
Much better quarter all round. Just need to stop doing the brainfades.
-
Best qtr since the season restarted
And that should have been a free to Jack, grabbed by the arm
It was Lynch not Jack
No, not the Lynch / Lever on the boundary before that
-
Dusty is either crook or can’t be stuffed
Either way he's not as agile as usual. He's pulling out as soon as there's a change in direction.
-
Pressure, intent and attack on the footy back to something resembling Richmond standard.
Ball skills still a long way off. Dropping chest marks, missing kicks/handballs.
-
Is Dusty injured or unfit? Unlike him to be showing the pain as he did just before half time
-
Makes a world of difference when you have quick, agile & skillful talls.... :shh
-
Best qtr since the season restarted
And that should have been a free to Jack, grabbed by the arm
It was Lynch not Jack
No, not the Lynch / Lever on the boundary before that
Lynch was a free kick also
-
Makes a world of difference when you have quick, agile & skillful talls.... :shh
Now we are going to a hub in warm weather id bring in Coleman Jones to make a 3 pronged attack.
-
Best qtr since the season restarted
And that should have been a free to Jack, grabbed by the arm
It was Lynch not Jack
No, not the Lynch / Lever on the boundary before that
Lynch was a free kick also
Yes absolutely
-
Caddy in two minds to take the shot on the run. Lynch spoiled. Rushed.
46 - 20
-
Another good transition from D50. Dusty moved forward. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 8.4-52
Melb 3.2-20
-
Chol tap and clearance and nails the pass to jack on the lead 35 out. Misses.
53 - 20
-
Lynch hits the post from 3m out :P.
54 - 20
-
We need to nail these shots
-
That's poor
Leaving Melksham unmarked
Another gift
But it was further back, nil pressure by certain players
-
Grrr! Make us pay for our misses :scream.
54 - 26
-
FFS Lynch. Hit the post from 2m out. 2 goal turnaround
-
That uncontested mark to McDonald on the wing that started that movement >:( was unforgivable...
-
Castagna.... :banghead
-
:scream :banghead
Stupid by Castagna
Stop take the free
Throw in we wasted the first 5 minutes, not nailing shots
-
You stuffen stupid idiot Cantstandya
-
Nice advantage to us ump when it results in a Melbourne goal ::).
And yes George should have stopped.
54 - 32
-
Cantstandya is a halfwit
-
Great by Lambert
Needed that
-
George has always been an ordinary player. Dont kniw why you guys expect more. He isnt a classy player and ge cant kick.
-
Lambert brilliant smother and snapped goal :clapping :gotigers.
Rich 9.6-60
Melb 5.2-32
Needed that steadier to stop their momentum.
-
Great courage by Short
-
Haha dopey Melksham :lol.
-
Lambert on the ground out to George who snaps a point.
61 - 32
-
Great tackle Grimesy. Balta did well just before that.
-
Best game Caddy has played this season
-
Best game Caddy has played this season
Yep BOG imo
-
3/4 time
Richmond 3.2 7.3 9.7-61
Melbourne 3.1 3.2 5.2-32
Goals: Lambert 2, Lynch, Riewoldt, Martin, Higgins, Rioli, Castagna, Nankervis.
-
Best game Caddy has played this season
Yep BOG imo
So good that quarter.
The debutant doesn’t look out of place at all either.
-
Plenty of players down.
Martin, Riewoldt, Rioli, McIntosh and Cantstandya all ordinary. Pressure is a lot better
Gee Dusty is a massive worry. Body language is terrible and no effort
-
Nank? Redone his groin?
-
Ive like Aartz game better than Higgins. Higgo needs to make better decisions, show more awareness and cut those little 10 metre dinky kicks out of his game. Just useless possessions.
-
We lost our structure in the last 10 mins. Allowed Melbourne's half-backs to run into space. Need to tighten that up again.
-
Mcintosh should be dropped for a kid as well. Been really ordinary.
-
Nank? Redone his groin?
Went into the rooms with the doc at 3/4 time. Nank is now sitting on the bench with the coat on. Knee and ankle got twisted in a tackle apparently..
-
Relieved Houli isn't going to the hub, poor again this week
-
Hands out in front on the lead Jack.
3 forward entries botched :banghead and we give them a goal :banghead
61 - 38
-
Riewoldt is shot. Dropping uncontested marks,
-
Riewoldt needs to go
-
Perfect pass from Kam to Jack and it bounces off his chest
They get another easy one
-
Poor decision Dusty.
-
Stupid by Balta
Really dumb
-
Geez we're playing some dumb footy out there. Lacking composure and back to plenty of schoolboy errors :banghead.
61 - 44
-
We've stopped and turnovers are killing us
-
Houli again :scream :banghead
-
Houli shouldn't be playing. Going to ground too easily.
-
Prestia carried off by the trainers (knee?).
-
Lynch
-
It's Prestia's left knee. Twisted in the tackle underneath him in the tackle :(.
-
Lynch kicks a badly needed steadier :gotigers.
Rich 10.7-67
Melb 7.2-44
-
Prestia in big trouble
-
Down to one on the bench.
Cotch off with the jacket on too (hamstring?).
-
Looks like Cotch is gone too
-
If we hang on here it will be a great win
-
Lucky they miss. 67 - 45
4:30 to go.
-
Aarts on the bench with a corky.
-
Add houli and edwards we could have 5 or 6 not go into a hub
-
Just got to hold
Get the ball and keep possession
-
That is not front on contact umpire. Terrible interpretation of the rule.
-
This has gone to poo quickly
-
Dumb by Higgins playing on and kicking to Lynch with 4 against him. Melbourne run it down for a goal.
67 - 51
2:40 to go.
-
Prestia walking back to the bench :pray.
-
Umpires absolutely screwing us as usual
-
Lynch :gotigers
-
Add houli and edwards we could have 5 or 6 not go into a hub
There is no limit to how many can go to the hub
So reckon they all will apart from Houli and Edwards
-
Lynch seals it.
Rich 11.7-73
Melb 8.3-51
-
Great win. Good effort from the boys today.
-
Great courage by MacIntosh
-
Houli goes to ground too easily again. Lucky they miss.
73 - 52
-
Caddy good again. Higgo free in the pocket. Didn't make the distance :huh.
-
Great hands in the pocket. Lambert goals :gotigers
Rich 12.7-79
Melb 8.4-52
-
Great win
To hang on in this last qtr 3 men down
Great effort
-
Feel shocking for Dion
-
Cotchin looks happy that he doesn’t have to go to the hub
-
Prestia looks shattered. That’s him done till next year
We need to trade in a class mid now
-
Feel shocking for Dion
Yep
Cotch suggested it is ankle
And Cotch has done his hammy again
-
Gutsy win by 27 pts :gotigers
Richmond 3.2 7.3 9.7 12.7-79

Every team’s Round 5 performance analysed and graded in foxfooty.com.au’s Report Card.
RICHMOND
Let’s stay in the present first: hard to be too unhappy with that one. The Tigers looked pretty slick at times against Melbourne, running out 27-point winners and getting an important win before they head into their interstate hub. Now let’s be real: hard to be too happy with that injury list. Damien Hardwick will be without up to seven members of his best side in Queensland; not ideal.
In the votes
According to the Official AFL Player Ratings, it was Kane Lambert’s best ever game - and he’s had a few crackers in the past. Lambert finished with 27 disposals, three goals, six marks, five clearances and eight score involvements; in shortened quarters, remember. Crazy good. Jack Higgins was also tremendous, with 19 touches, eight score involvements, 10 contested possessions and a goal.
Room for improvement
This was a very even performance from the Tigers, with six players having their best games of the season and everyone chipping in to overcome a limited bench due to all of their midgame injury blows.

Thought Caddy had a really good game. His disposal was really good.
