With Richo no longer a dominating presence in our forward line who should be given a crack to hold down the KPP FF position.
One of our other touted KPP FF's eg Schulz or Hughes, or one of our recent drafteees or maybe not to have a KPP FF at all and just run another small to mid forward line player (eg Browny)
-
I think Hughes is definetly our first choice he should be given a huge opportunity to show his worth. Playing Coburg 2's is not good enough. Should be getting as much oppurtunity to make a decision whether or not he can play at the level before next years cull.
Simmonds is our best option if we are a chance to play in September. I still have hope but otherwise it should be Hughes or Schultz (again..)
Post, Putt Gourdis should be given chances at the end of the year hopefully but regardless aren't playing to stay on next year. Schultz and Hughes both would be.
-
We have tried Hughes
We have tried Schulz
Simmo is not a long term solution
Gourdis is not ready (and I would promote Browne off the rookie list before him)
Post will be CHB
That leaves Vickery and Putt. Try both of them at FF over the remainder of the year. Start to blood them

Your spot on about Hughes but I think he should still have 1 more decent stint to see whether he can play at the top. Putt and Vickory are both undersized I think and need some more time. But both if the chance arise should be given a shot.

Maybe try the Doggies approach - Schulz/Hughes as the get out long option, with Nahas, Cotchin, Brown, Deledio and play Cousins as a high hit up half forward.

when Putt or Gourdis or Vickery plays at FF this year and does not get a kick you will be the first one yelling at how rubbish they are.

find one post when i have bagged a new player
i would rather see Vickery there and fail than your mate Schulz.
he is waste of space that guy

Only option at this stage of the season is to play Schulz at FF.Last roll of the dice for him to save his career.Give him minimum 6 weeks.
If Hughes is playing coberg res....He is miles off playing AFL standard footy.
Im all for playing Vickery and Putt when it is a mathematical impossibility for us to make finals and their form in the VFL warrants selection. From all reports it sounds like young Vickery wouldn't star in VFL reserves at the moment-not an attack on him....Just the reality of where hes at as a young 18 yo

Vickery is a 200cm 18 yoa who cannot take a mark @ Burgers. Will get smashed @ AFL
Gourdis got delisted last season.
Putt is 202cm skinny bastard who is playing wing and for Coburg 2's untill recently

POLAK

Reiwoldt FF
Lids CHF
Cousins + Cotchin + Nahas + White forward pressure
-
if Cleve Hughes plays full forward, we wont win a game. :banghead

Why not play Vickery, Post and or Putt, they are men and it's only a game of footy, not war!
They will learn more in 10 minutes at AFL level than they will learn all year at Coburg.
It's time to play these guys and get some game-time into them, they can learn the hard way but there is nothing wrong with that!
Time for some young blood at Tigerland to stand up and show what they are made of!
It may be exciting!!

No no no no no.
All your ideas a fanciful to say the least. Why because they might work and the RFC and their supporters may benfit from this.
RFC should call another press conference tomorrow and say we got Dr Nick Riviera and he performed on Richo for $129.95 after the RFC sacked their medical staff and resoursefully caleed 1300 DOCTORB. The B stands for bargain and Richo crutches and all will be lining up at FF on Saturday raring to go.
If however we want to be fanciful and destined to fail then play Vickery. OK the kid has alot to learn but he'll learn more we hope at Richmond in the firsts at an elite level by observing a few of our players and the majority of our opposition on the field than sticking it out at Coburg. Like Big Tone said just do it. We never play any kids when given the opportunity and take a risk. We have not done this for years. Just do it it may work. Remember Cloke and Keane were premiership players in 74 as eighteen year olds. Take a chance and punt on the kids. At least we won' have any what if questions in 2-3 years time as we do with Clever or Riewoldt right now. Do it right and promote Vickery or Post.

I'll throw a cat among the pigeons - promote Brown into the ruck and play Graham full foward

Good idea actually :thumbsup

I think I'll go with the two above this post.

Pettifer was one of the only decent players for Coburg on the weekend. :outtahere

Cleve played games at full forward last year when we won games! Port at Port and Cleve with 6 goals!
-
Whoever it gets the gig they have a massive opportunity to establish themselves
Time to step up to the plate I would think
Schulz would be my first option. He's always struggled in the same side as Richo so he can have the FF area all to himself... your time is now Jay

Must of been a leap year :banghead :banghead
he is shocker who has trouble beating witches hats at training, give me a break, Cleve Hughes :chuck

Spoiled for choice lol.
He'll probably get another crack now but we've already tried Sarge in the first 3 rounds and he failed once again. I would go with Cleve. At least Jack, Morton and he showed in a couple of games last year they can work together to kick a winning score.

The other reason why I would go with Cleve is he can kick straight for goal. Poor Sarge's goalkicking has gone to the dogs at AFL level. Even makes Richo seem a dead-eye-dick.
