Might only be the pre-season but still....
....#lolnorf :shh

Welcome to the preseason ...
Gold Coast flogged Geelong by 68 points :lol.
https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/live-afl-preseason-2020-gold-coast-suns-vs-geelong-cats-marsh-community-series-live-scores-updates-video-blog/news-story/bf18e39a2c5ddc4a0e7aeaed9131a460
And the media are calling Petracca a "Dusty-clone" because he and Melbourne beat up on a hapless Adelaide that are likely to finish down the bottom of the ladder this year :huh3.

Tim Taranto dislocated his shoulder early in the Giants' 94-point win over Sydney.
Tom Green had 21 disposals and kicked 2 goals.

The Dogs might as well have stayed home with the fans. Been a training drill for the Pies.
-
The Dogs might as well have stayed home with the fans. Been a training drill for the Pies.
Doggies embarrassing tonight
-
Towner with 3 goals in the first half.
Umps sure are looking after the Bombers with some charity frees. Must be the same whistle-happy umps that did our game with Carlton.
-
Bummers getting the rub from the umps -What else in new?- at home v Freo and still only get up by a kick... :shh
-
The Dons-Freo was the poorest standard of the games so far. Both sides lack reliable key forwards. You're not going to win too many games kicking only 4 goals over 3/4ers. Sam Sturt looks promising for Freo though.
Swans beat the Crows 74-71. Two more sides unlikely to see finals.
-
Flicking between matches:
GC still shyte...#borrowedtime :shh
Handbaggers look slow...#ontheslide :shh :shh
-
Giants love a game of low tackling and little pressure. Giving them open space allows room for their runners to use their elite footskills and find open forwards. We didn't give them that time and space at the 'G.
-
21 possies for Ellis in a team that was flogged. But only worth Pick 40 as compo according to the AFL :rolleyes.
-
In the words of the late great Kenny Rogers - "You've got to know when to fold 'em..."#GoldCoastSuns :shh
-
#lolnorf #foldnorf :shh
-
Shouda known not to go early against a side playing the Aints... :facepalm
-
st Kilda is an appalling football club. they need to merge or fold.
-
Them, Norf & GC are all a waste of space...stuff em off along with Greater White Elephant..... :shh
-
New season but same old Dees struggling to score :yep.
-
Aside from the last 5 minutes of the first half, you'd give Carlton the wooden spoon already. Imagine giving up the first 7 goals of a game to the Dees :lol.
In the other game, there was a bizarre non-review. Field ump Dean Margetts overruled the goal umpire who wanted a review on Taberner's mark in the goalsquare that wasn't paid and then was rushed through. Margetts said 'I make the decision on marks' and refused the review. Lucky he wasn't umpiring our game and didn't pay Higgo the mark.
-
Adelaide are a completely broken football club. Their supporters are broken too. Instead of trying to fix their club they spend there time whinging about unfairness and inequity of AFL footy.
-
Only just saw the GC v WC result from last night (haven't bothered getting Fox Footy back yet because our first four games are all free to air) Bad weekend for two of our flag rivals..:shh
-
N0rt rolled the Giants
Bumbling bombers beat Sydney
Going to be a crazy season no doubt
-
Finding form in the last 5 weeks of the season will determine who wins it all.
-
Finding form in the last 5 weeks of the season will determine who wins it all.
Tends to be our MO :)
-
3 upsets to start the round with the Swans knocking off North. With Essendon not playing, only Port can go more than a game ahead of us.
-
Blues with 5 goals to 1 at 1/4 time down at Geelong :o.
-
Blues with 5 goals to 1 at 1/4 time down at Geelong :o.
Well Clarko did say Geelong aren't that good :rollin :rollin
-
i tell you what the pies get the rub of the green almost every farkin week over for as long as i can remember.
Does anyone have the stats to substantiate this?
-
I watched the first half of the pies v giants and it was quite a sloppy unskillful affair. The whole ground was clogged as usual. It made me realize the first quarter this year isn't worth watching at all. They should make the players run 5 km then start the game and just have 3 quarters.
-
Oh boy we gotta get Tom Green home..... :shh
p.s. #lolpies... :shh :shh
-
free kicks all night and they still couldnt win.
love it.
-
Bad night for the Pies all round losing Jeremy Howe to what looked like a PCL. That's a 10 week injury.
Mason Cox showed again he is a one-game wonder. He dropped every pass that went near him.
-
Howes injury is gonna cost them big time. He and Moore hold up there defensive structure.
-
shocker from Mason Cox but some of the delivery to him was woeful.
-
I cant believe we missed out on a GF attempt at a 3 peat because of that dud.
-
The ‘blueprint’ to stop Collingwood is now obvious - tag Sidebottom.
https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2020-steele-sidebottom-tagged-by-matt-de-boer-collingwood-vs-gws-blueprint-to-stop-magpies-move-to-halfback/news-story/50d066dc30bf8f6e7c72fc602936861d
And stay close enough to them on the scoreboard to half-time :yep.
-
Pussies look decidedly ordinary and should've lost... forget Tomlinson's miss that was never going to go through- that dumbarse Salem cost Melbourne the chance to win the match when he ignored about three free blokes inside the 50 in far better positions as he was running to his mark after the penalty.. :shh
-
Taylor taking that mark out of Brown's hands - dumbarses everywhere ...#lolnorf :shh
-
How many running shots on goal like that did Butler just spray when he played for us? >:(
...and how's that pick swap with the 'aints looking now... :shh
-
What were Norf thinking playing Cunnington when he could hardly move?! :stupid
-
Freo did us a favour knocking off the Saints. If one of the Bombers, Suns & Giants loses tonight then a win tomorrow :pray puts us back in the top 8 and only half a game off a top 2 spot.
-
Norf going great guns with shaw as coach lol
-
Norf going great guns with shaw as coach lol
Scoreboard flattered Norf too. If Essendon had kicked straight they would have been smashed. Norf's only gameplan is to kick it down the line. You just need to tag Higgins out of the game and hold numbers back to hit them with pace on the break to beat them.
Mind you Norf will pump themselves up for their 'Grand Final' next week like they always do ::) while we press numbers up instead :-\.
-
i have zero confidence in beating north.
in fact i dont think we will win.
if it wasnt for our defence we would be completely screwed right now.
-
Who saw the cats pies game. Thank God I'm not a cats man or id be ropeable at the umpires.
-
#freekickcollingwood :shh
-
10/22
every year Dio, same poo with these cheats.
-
Geelong still relies on their older players. Danger was ineffective, Ablett was quiet while Selwood went off injured.
Another good result for us provided we can win our game.
ps. That idiot that ran onto the ground better be rich as it cost him 50k.
-
DeGoey possibly out for two months due to finger surgery.
-
Essendon's free-wheeling gamestyle is exposed once again under pressure.
-
No finals for essendon this season. Theyre not ready yet.
-
baggas. Such a shame
-
Watching the hawks getting carved up by the Dees and I’m trying to figure out how we lost to them.
We must of been playing really crap Dawks look hopeless.
-
DeGoey possibly out for two months due to finger surgery.
Wow that's a surprise.
I suspect he's a douchebag but gee I like watching him play so it's a shame. Poor pies haha!
-
We clearly didn't turn up to play against Hawthorn. An indictment on us that night. No way could you try and lose to them. Even Sydney knocked them off.
As for Norf and dopey Pittard :rollin
-
12.1
Amazing what happens when a team kicks straight as opposed to our 6.14 :P.
-
Apparently it was only the third time a side's kicked just one behind and won and the first time since 1900... :shh
-
Yeah it's an extreme example Dio but it does show the basic skill of goalkicking still makes the biggest difference to a result even in modern footy's world of sophisticated tactics and structures. We kick 6.14 + 2 OOTF rather than 18.4 in last year's QF and we would've lost. Losing like we did against GWS is my pet hate of footy. Amateur hour! :banghead
Well done to the Saints btw. Ratten getting the best out of their list.
Port's downhill skier rep is still alive after last night :yep.
-
Essendon very lucky to get over the winless Crows. Another game where the loser had more shots.
The results haven't gone our way this weekend :/.
-
Would be nice if the Eagles really pound the pies
The last 10 minutes junk time could be huge for us
-
Would be nice if the Eagles really pound the pies
The last 10 minutes junk time could be huge for us
They are :clapping
-
We're still 7% below the Pies. Equates to about 4 goals.
-
Geelong winning means we're down to 9th :P.
-
Another stunning performance by the Dees :rollin
Someone on Twitter asked if there were ski slopes in QLD :lol
-
:rollin
A few cheese platters would've been thrown at TVs tonight lol.
-
Helluva second quarter from Hawthorn v Scumbaggers ...hope they go on with it.. :shh
-
Wow what a capitulation by the blues. Hate them both anyway
-
#lolbummers ... good result for us.... :shh
-
Hipwood's going tease and frustrate the shyte out of Brisbane supporters for the next decade... :shh
-
Adelaide should be relegated to the SANFL
Theyre hopeless
-
I think Fitzroy in 1964 was the last side to have a winless season. The Crows are stuffed for the next decade. They need to rebuild their list from scratch.
A similar loss to last year's prelim for Geelong tonight. Overrun again the 2nd half. Exposed again against top sides.
-
#lolpies :shh
-
Go Swannies. 5.0 to Pies 2.10 at half time :laugh.
-
Go Swannies. 5.0 to Pies 2.10 at half time :laugh.
Umps come to the Pies rescue 23 - 11 to get them over the line (http://oneeyed-richmond.com/forum/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif).
-
Go Swannies. 5.0 to Pies 2.10 at half time :laugh.
should make a rule not to go the early crow on pies games. Spewing OE, and yep Umps did their usual thing
-
Softaz Butler finally gets a 4th goal in a match.... non-call on Ryder for an unrealistic attempt cost GC the chance at the win - was even more obvious than Jack's the other night.... :shh
-
First time I've seen Towner come off second best in a collision. Huge hit.
-
Essendon ... cough ... cough :rollin
5 goals up & they choke :lol
ps. Towner's face blown up like a balloon post-game.
-
Im in two minds. Should I laugh at essendons misfortune at being blatantly robbed a win by a dive and goal in the last minute or outraged at the crap umpiring in that game and GWS cheating their way to a win.
-
Na happy with the choke. Happy for Leon and and Campo before that mob
-
Your right the bummers suck dogs balls.
-
Na happy with the choke. Happy for Leon and and Campo before that mob
FYI
Campo no longer at the Giants, he was sacked
-
Na happy with the choke. Happy for Leon and and Campo before that mob

Campo no longer at the Giants, he was sacked
must have missed that info. They probably werent happy the tigers won a flag against them so he was the scapegoat
i dont mind leon though, seems a good fella
-
Welcome back Aints
-
Sainters are gonna Saint... :shh
:shh :shh
-
Amazing how Collingwood can play interstate and have the umps giving them a cushy ride 20-12 in frees.
Convenient for them they are getting a soft draw playing all the bottom sides 5 weeks in a row while they are missing/resting players.
At least they didn't beat the Crows by enough to jump above us.
-
Bumblers lucky to escape with a draw against Soon-To-Fold Coast..... :shh
-
Shame I actually quite like GCS this year, and I love watching Bombers lose.
Hope we have money put aside to raid this GCS list some more. Maybe we could trade dual premiership wingman Josh Caddy back to them in a deal for Rankine!
-
Just wait a few years to feast on their carcass... :shh
-
Thanks Swannies.
-
Port clearly pumped themselves up for us as they are flat as a tack tonight :rolleyes. Geelong should be 5 goals ahead already.
-
Exactly MT
Gee they look average and in doing so are making the cats look great
-
I’d say the cats should be premiership favourites.
They are clearly playing the best footy at the moment.
Their defence is impenetrable and their forward line has the big boy playing great footy.
The whole team running hard both ways
They’ve clearly taken some intel from us on how to win finals playing Richmond type footy better than us at the minute.
-
we win monday and we sit 2 points behind the cats.
we have played poor outside of say 3 games and we are virtually right with them.
Thats enough for me
cats arent that great
-
Brisbane lucky they were playing Norf. Shocking standard of a game.
-
Pies getting smashed by Melbourne lol.
-
Thanks Dees
-
Go Bombers.
-
Id like a 1967 grand final replay where we stitch up the cats and then we can spend another 12 months laughing at their social media commentary.
-
Freo rapped by the umps and the Cheats are still getting away with their cheating ways.
-
Great shot by Newnes but that was one ridiculously soft down the field free. Would be spewing if an umpiring decision like that cost us a game right at the end.
Oh well, it means Freo have nothing left to play for. So not a bad result for us.
-
Kat Loughnan in that outfit on Saturday Stretch...lord have mercy... :dancingpickle :shh
-
Its always good when collingwood supporters realise
there not going to win the flag. Knives are out for Buckley and McGuire on forums like big footy. Trelol praying now he wont be 0 and 3 in the next couple of months.
-
the only game im looking forward to outside of our own is pies blues in a few weeks.
im not sure who i want to lose more
-
Shocking news for Hawthorn. James Sicily confirmed ACL. Will miss 2021 season on top of the rest of 2020.
https://www.afl.com.au/news/487041/star-hawk-to-miss-the-next-12-months-after-scans-reveal-horrible-news
-
The whole 2021?
As if.
Bloke should be aiming for R1 surely? Or at least the second half of the year.
-
12 months out takes him to mid-August next year. In a normal season that's about round 21. Hawthorn unlikely to play finals given they need to rebuild. You wouldn't risk it for a late season meaningless game.
-
You might play a few reserve, nah your right you wouldn't risk it.
-
win tonight and we play finals 100%
reckon 6 out of the top 8 is sorted after the dees loss.
rest are playing for the 2
-
Justvwamt to say GO LIONS!
-
win tonight and we play finals 100%

You can always count on the Dees
-
The Pies can thank their soft draw over the 6-8 weeks playing bottom sides for staying in the Eight.
They play Carlton next so at least one of them has to lose :yep.
-
Cats haven't turned up. Dogs all over them early. Good for us.
-
Early crow MT :banghead
-
Yep nice mozz :P. Geez the Dogs threw that one away. Kicked the first 6 goals then got run over. No wonder we flogged them.
-
Yep nice mozz :P. Geez the Dogs threw that one away. Kicked the first 6 goals then got run over. No wonder we flogged them.
i was hoping you didnt back it up in the saints game MT, which you didnt
So unless pies catch us on %, its us v eagles for a top 4 spot.
does anyone think the finals can be played in adelaide?
-
Yes I reckon there will be finals in Adelaide
But not the GF
-
Current whisper is in the first week of finals Port & Eagles get to host home final. Rest of finals in Qld.
-
Pies just won :sleep

Disagree
If we beat Geelong , massive chance they miss top 4
-
Bye bye bluebaggers. Pies lucky again they weren't playing an experienced top 8 side. Blues froze in the last.
-
who will take their spot Damo?
1 game plus a lot of % ahead of eagles
could go either way i guess, but it would be lovely to see chris scott start his usual tear again about something
-
Yes I reckon there will be finals in Adelaide
But not the GF
Interesting. Imagine if its us in SA. They will have 20,000 victorians heading up so fair chance they wont want to open the borders.
-

Eagles have a game in hand and could definitely win out
-
Hawks tanking? Look like giving the Crows their first win :o.
They are not playing like the team back in round 3 we lost to :P.
-
stuffing Bumblers never win when you actually want them too... >:(
-
#loldees :shh
-
Umps fisting GWS something fierce... :shh
-
Melbourne are like we were in the 90s. They go to water as soon as there are expections on them. Top 8 spot on the line, expected to beat a bottom 4 side that has nothing to play for, plus the Dees had the breeze in the first qtr = don't turn up, freeze & lose with a wimper. Those losses are coach killers. Thank gawd those days are long gone for us.
-
Bye bye bluebaggers. ... Blues froze in the last.
Twice in a row :lol
You would think the top 8 is set given the poor/untrustworthy form of the sides now outside it and a game behind the Giants.
-

no way MT, far from it. Giants still have saints and demons.
its anyones spot IMO.
Go doggies against the eagles.
-
St Kilda play the Hawks & GWS play Adelaide next. So the Dees, Dogs or Bombers will most likely need to win all 3 of their remaining games to get in. I just don't trust them to do it based on their form or lack of as well as their mental fragility.
ps. I want the Dogs & Saints to both knock off the Eagles for our sake :thumbsup
-
Always a good week when the Tiges win and the Pies, Blues and Bombers all lose ;D.
I don't see it happening but it would be hilarious if the Pies lose to the Suns and then Port and they miss the Eight.
-

As long as the Dees don’t get in

Geez Norf are in a world of hurt with their list. Watching them v Port. Norf are terrible and Port is overrated.

X2.
Brisbane overrated too.
Huge issues for North - their best players are old as hell. Goldstein, Higgins, Tarrant, Ziebell
-
Right now im thinking its a Richmond vs Geeling grand final.

Not if we don't beat them on Friday night.... :shh

Thank You Scraggers.... :clapping :clapping :clapping

Being Spring now and in lockdown they can't escape in their Range Rovers to the snowfields either lol.
-
Adelaide not the guaranteed 4 points they were a fortnight ago..... :shh
-
No one is a pushover, BUT theya re average, and if we cant beat them we shouldnt even bother playing finals
GWS are rubbish too.
-
Jeez for all his talent, that Rankine is quite the squib...Bellis must be mentoring him... :shh
-
Umps loving West Coast tonight.Paying imaginary frees to them while the continually ignoring Eagle players dropping the ball.
Mind you the Saints are playing like the Gabba is an ice skating rink.
-
C'mon Saints. Make it easier for us.
-
Saints now choking.
-
Umps absolutely sucked off West Coast all night but stuff me drunk St.Kilda are a seriously dumb football team.... >:(
-
Only St Kilda could cough up 4 late goals in the last 8 mins in a low scoring game in the wet with the opposition two down on the bench :rolleyes.
Just shows again you can't rely on sides to help ya out.
-
Too true, umps love the weagles but gee it was a poo game what I saw of it. I turned it off.
-
St Kilda should never be depended upon. Theye always been a rabble. Always will be. Its their club DNA.
-
....and yet somehow we lost to them..... >:(
-
....and yet somehow we lost to them..... >:(
3 of the 4 sides we've lost to are now in ordinary-to-terrible form: Saints, Hawks & GWS :P.

Anyone see Rhyce Shaw's last couple of press conferences....looks & sounds like he's already run out of ideas and has given up after one year...I'd sack him after that but they can't afford it.....another Neeld... #lolnorf :shh

I would sack myself if I worked for Norf
-
Let us all take a moment and give thanks that BEllis is no longer playing for us.... :pray
-
Saints thump the Giants to make the 8
Giants out. :clapping
-
As much as this has been an "unprecedented" year, some things haven't changed. Once again a top 4 side from the previous year has crashed out of the top 8 (GWS) and a non-finalist from last year has jumped up into the top 4 (Port). If the Dogs remain in the Eight then two changes (Port/StK in; GWS/Ess out) is bang on the average.
-
Go Swannies lol.
Geelong will probably run over the Swans but it would be hilarious if the Cats miss the top 4 & then get knocked out in the first week of the finals. Chris Scott's sulking would be worth it alone lol.
-
I wish we got the charity frees that the umps are giving Geelong.
-
Cats won the game but their lack of pace was exposed again and they struggled to score again until the young Swans tired and there was no pressure.
-
Cats won the game but their lack of pace was exposed again and they struggled to score again until the young Swans tired and there was no pressure.
Richmond and Sydney have exposed a weakness in Geelong’s backline – defending small forwards.
https://www.sen.com.au/news/2020/09/21/have-richmond-and-sydney-exposed-a-geelong-weakness/
-
If both sides tonight go with the same line-ups in the finals we'll expose their bottom 6. Cox, Stephenson, Motlop are soft liabilities.
-
Perfect result - don't have to travel & play Port in Adelaide again...get to play our bunnies at our Gabba fortress & The Wobbles have to go to Perth, spend a week in quarrantine, then play the Coolers.... :tvhappy
-
Pies :rollin.
De Goey was a no showy, Stephenson soft and had a mare while 'one game wonder' did stuff all as usual. Yep Treloar, the Pies list is so much better than ours with a forward line like that :lol.
-
Zip and Three for Treloar coming up shortly. Will go down in footy folklore with Buckley will Treloar. Could have had 3 premiership medallions in treloars case it could turn out he misses out on 4 or maybe 5.
-
Hawkins has got the big shove going tonight. Lucky for Port he's missed all four shots. That last one was terrible. Similar to the one against us when he played on and hooked a point.
-
Chris Scott having a sook at the umps at half-time :lol. Should focus on his own side's missed shots.
-
Cats being shown up in another final. Too slow.
Only potential 'neg' if Port wins is the loser of tomorrow night will have to play Port in a Prelim in Adelaide. So important we win :pray.
-
Porkins with 0.5 for the night. George will be happy about it .... :santa
-
Hawkins 0.9 in his last two QFs lol.
There's always excuses for the Cats losing finals but they are too old and slow. Killed on the spread once again tonight. Simply not good enough against the top sides when it matters.
-
Geelong is gone. Ablett, Hawkins, Dangerfield, Taylor, Henderson all over 30. Shot to pieces no flag for them.
Not for a very long time.
-
The next best thing to the Tiger's beating Geelong
Is seeing Geelong choke in another final :snidegrin
-
Dangerflog standing up when it counts and getting his side over the line again.....oh wait.... :shh
-
The Geelong side last night was the oldest in VFL/AFL history (avg: 28 years 134 days).

Saints hang onto win by 3 points
-
Seems Cox is having his once in two years day out.
-
Eagles you had one job :facepalm.
Can't stand Collingwood but that was a gutsy win. Took their chances even the flukey ones. Helps too when the umps don't favour the home team.
The Cats will be very nervous. Can see the Pies playing Brisbane in a prelim.
-
Everyone is -rightly- raving about Ryan's kick to Kennedy in the last....but I've seen Conca do that...twice... :shh
-
Pies having a mare early. Cameron drops a sitter in front of goal. DeGoey shanks a shot OOTF. :rollin
-
Very sad to see

Lol Chucky.
Game over. Training drill stuff for the Cats.

Dangerflog standing up when it counts and getting his side over the line again.....oh wait.... :shh
Went ok tonight :shh :shh :shh

The Pies might as well forfeit. One goal in 3 qtrs lol. Worst final ever. A preseason match even has more heat.

Yeah really intense match fought under finals-like pressure that was...let's see how he goes in the prelim. #fifthtimelucky :shh :shh :shh :shh

Should Gil really be siting with Ed? I don’t think that’s a good luck. But hey what’s new?
-
Very open game so far tonight. Aside from McCluggage and Cameron, Brisbane are not as on as they were against us in the QF (the one game in 25 days factor?). Cats should be a few goals up at qtr time with five more scoring shots but have blown a few chances. Again Hawkins misses a set shot lol.
-
Meyers did a Duursma :lol.
Geez, are the Cats going to choke in another Prelim lol. They should be 4 goals up with all the inside 50s and shots they've had.
Mind you the umps sure are wearing maroon and blue tonight. Dimma will need to send chocies and flowers midweek to the umps if we're playing Brisbane.
-
Geelong all over Brisbane except on the scoreboard. Even the umps are no longer helping Brisbane (Danger's throw for Ablett's first goal). The Cats should be 6-7 goals up and game over; not just 3 goals up.
-
Looks like it's going to be us vs the Cats. Geelong would have to choke massively to lose it now.

Brisbane played their GF a fortnight ago. Hardly any intensity or pressure tonight except for a patch in the 2nd qtr. Geelong won't get it so easy next week.
