Graig ddnt actually do anything so i'd imagine they'll just put a toilet roll with some pipe cleaners as arms on his desk
-
The key here is what sort of toilet roll?

fancy getting excited at the leaving of someone you dislike only to have them replaced by someone you despise.
The rollercoaster of emotions would be similar to getting shouted a root in a Thai brothel only to discover....
-
with all these messiahs at RFC it's no wonder the indians are getting on board :gotigers

BALMY or they can GET STUFFED!
-
Joel Bowden?
Interesting suggestion.
If Balme doesn't come then is Joel qualified? Does he have the know how? Does he have what it takes? Same questions could be asked for Tony Free.
I don't know these answers.
Just get Balme and make it happen!!
Just do it Tigers!!!!!
-
Like i asked in the other thread,Could Balmey be damaged goods?
-
what a sacrilegious comment to make
-
love balmey but there is possibly a better option in the wild wild west
-
Balmy is a legend. Time to bring him back to Richmond. A Hardwick, Williams, Balme triumvirate would be an outstanding football leadership for our club.
Chris Bond Cucumber?
-
what a sacrilegious comment to make
Wasn,t a Comment.Was a Question. ;D
-
Chris Bond Cucumber?
mm, would save us having to replace balme when he buys a caravan in two years
-
A great man should be approached but I know he won't be. 8)
-
I would like Chris Bond as the GM of Football for these reasons:
1) As a player he understands the onus is on the player to work to save his own job. Experience: the fact he was traded by Richmond to Freo and became their captain.
2) As a coach he understands the danger of factions of contented older players doing just enough. Experience: time at Freo as an assistant immediately after retiring.
3) As a coach he understands the importance and difficulty in developing a well-balanced list. Experience: time as Bulldog assistant trying to repair the short sighted obsession of Wallace on recruitment.
4) The only way to repair such a list is thru good recruitment, development and playing the kids. Experience: Freo under Harvey have bitten the bullet and got rid of the senior bludgers (in the main) and gone after kids rather than drafting other teams rejects. They have also been the trendsetters in quality older untried recruits like Barlow, Lower, Broughton etc.
5) The General Manager needs to have a high focus on welfare of players in a new environment. Experience: He is now the football operation manager at Freo
Overall he has the right experience as a player, captain, coach and administrator.
This is from the Freo website:
"General Manager Football Operations - Chris Bond
A former Captain, Chris joined the Club in October 2007 as General Manager — List Development. He was responsible for the Club’s list development, managing and developing the Club’s football information and technology systems, player recruitment, and opposition analysis as well as being a key member of Mark Harvey’s coaching team. In 2009, Chris was appointed GM Football Operations and oversaw major changes in the playing list as well as overseeing a new direction in coaching and player development, the introduction of a new player development academy and a remodelled recruiting structure. Chris played a total of 163 AFL games in his 10-year career, including 41 games for Fremantle. He moved into coaching in 2000 with the Western Bulldogs as an Assistant Coach as well as Coaching the Werribee Tigers in the VFL in 2001 and 2002."
That's the sort of resume we want, not one that is only focussed on List Management and/or Recruiting.
Let the Cameron contract run out and get the best, experienced, well-rounded GM of Football. I think that's Bond.

Joel stuffen Bowden

Joel stuffen Bowden
Have nothin against Joel but he not ready for this job. This job should be a race in 2 with Balme and Bond leading the charge. I still would like to see Balmy get it but if he doesnt and they can get Bond then that would be ok as well as I liked Bond when he was playing for us.
-
what happened to Balme or get stuffed?
-

thats a good question Alberto the answer is Balme or Bondy or they can get Stuffed. :lol

;D
From what Gale has just said it's likely we won't replace Graig until the end of the season
That would give more opportunity to poach someone already at an AFL club
-

So true, especially those likely to be out of contract ;D

Will keep my appointments open and check my emails every night. :shh

Don't tell me Clipboard is going to take over for an entire season

;D
From what Gale has just said it's likely we won't replace Graig until the end of the season
With so many players out of contract,I doubt we can afford to wait until the end of the season.

You don't think someone else could negotiate the contracts? Don't think CC would have had free run to sign who he wanted to. [Coach] otherwise A.Maric would still be on the list [/Coach] :shh

Is J.McMahon available now he is retired?

Look what happened last time someone had more than one hat at the club.
-
CEO should be able to handle the contracts – those that we want to keep would be well advanced in negs now anyway
those that we don't...
-
If they're not going to make Hartley the new Footy Head then I think it's part of the plan "going forward" that he will be the new List Manager.
When Cameron became GM he was already List Manager and kept both jobs even though he had been bought over by Miller to separate the two jobs.
I have a feeling that Gale at least wants Hartley as List Manager.
This gives us the chance to get IMO the proper structure with a separate List Manager and GM of Footy.
That means Hartley can go forward with the contract renewals while overseeingthe whole List structure as well.
-
Seriously why not Chocco Williams?
-
Seriously why not Chocco Williams?
Cos Chocco is a coach..not an admin person.
Just my thought anyway....

My point was more than one person is involved in contract negotiations. It will just be those people minus CC making the decisions now.
