from today's Herald-Sun............
Aware Round 1 opponent Richmond has made a theme of derailing Carlton's off-season momentum, the Blues are likely to rest Brendan Fevola, Chris Judd and possibly Nick Stevens until late in the NAB Cup or regional challenge series.
Carlton chief executive Greg Swann said the club had been made aware Richmond was talking up its chances in the season opener.
We are focused on Round 1, we are not focused on the NAB Cup this year," Swann said.
"We have won it (in the past) and then we haven't won another game, so we will do it a bit differently this time."

i havent heard the rfc talk the talk much this yr , have you?
-
I would have thought it was the tankers that were doing most of the talking. If Swann is talking about what is talked about at training then I should bloody well hope so. The team should go into every match thinking it can win even if nobody else thinks so. Thinking about the Bluesers really leaves a bad taste in the mouth, pompous behinds that they are.
"We have won it (in the past) and then we haven't won another game, so we will do it a bit differently this time."
Yeah but that's because they are pathetic.

LOL at Carltank's reverse psychology.
'Hey, if we LOSE the NAB cup this year, that means we'll play good in the regular season!!'
-
ooh my god are you serious, they make me sick.
i standby what i have said 100 times in this forum, i almost dont care if we lose the next 5 games after round 1 as long as we beat those pricks. it means more to me than anything else this year.
cant stand those cheating pricks

Trash talk. Making something up that isn't there :whistle. They haven't won a game over the last 6 years because they've been crap! ;D
Sound like they are a touch worried. We should know as this sort of waffle before the season starts is something we do lol :shh.
-
somethings amiss at bloosland this early in the year to pull this little gem out from nowhere, Swann couldnt lie straight in bed. :sleep
-
Reverse phsycology if you ask me. Does anyone have a link to an article where Richmond is talking it up for the season opener?
-
The only club that's talking up their season out of the tigers and the blues is Carlton....
The have OWNED the newspapers since Juddsiah went there...
-
Carlton are starting the mind games 9 weeks away from the season opener.
I hope they are worried and I hope TW has the boys well and truly fired for this one against Carlscum. Maybe Swann was reading London's Daily Mail newspaper and got the headline of Kevin Keegan's appointment at Newcastle Utd somehow coming out as TW reckons Tigers are a 20 goal better side than Carlton. :whistle
Swann has always been a tosser. This is further evidence.
-
Yep a long long way out from round 1 to start the mind games. This could come back to bite Swann on the posterior ;D especially if he's admitting already a number of blues may be underdone or will have interrupted preseasons.
-
Maybe they have been reading the crap written by the intelligentsia over at PRE! :lol :lol :rollin

Punt Road End, it's another Richmond forum.
-
sweet. gotcha
-
Swann must be hearing things as there's still silence from Punt Rd. All I see in the papers today is the doggies, swans and especially the hawks mouthing off about how much bigger, stronger, faster and better they will be this year.
-
I suspect it may also be a little risk mitigation exercise , just in case the "Coup de Judd" proves to be something short of the revolutionary success they expect it to be. The consequences of spending all that cash and tanking their arse off , then, still not producing anything in the wins column might just prove to be catastrophic for our friends at MC Labour Park. They need to prepare some excuses and early just in case.
-
I hope forcing out a kid like Kennedy to get Judd comes back to bite them big time and they spend the next decade chasing after a CHF they tossed away.
-
Swann still parading Judd again the other day :sleep. LOL at Fev being captain.
