What went right
A final four weeks full of promise suggested there is a bit to look forward to next season. Nathan Brown showed he's still got it and Jake King was a find as a 23-year-old rookie.

What went wrong
Injuries, especially to ruckmen Troy Simmonds and Trent Knobel, and several narrow defeats early conspired to turn 2007 into the season from hell.

What they need
Having found the makings of a couple of good key defenders in Will Thursfield and Luke McGuane, the Tigers would do well to build up their midfield rotation. The return of knee victim Mark Coughlan will help.

Draft picks
2, 18, 19, 35, 51

The Good
Richmond was the second-best ball user of the competition :o with a disposal efficiency of 80.5 percent. It kicked the ball short more often than any other side.

The Bad
They won a hitout from only 29 per cent of stoppages - the fewest in the competition, and conceded the second most goals from stoppages.

Sheahan's Verdict
Richmond finished last. How can it be anything less than an embarrasing year? Yet the Tigers finished the season with gusto. With Browny fit and hungry, Simmonds to return and significant progress from Foley, Deledio and Thursfield, the signs are promising.

This is more a bad than good IMO. Any team will have a good disposal efficency when it's playing too safe kicking short and wide and overpossessing with handball like we did most of the year. Looks good on the stats sheet but does stuff all for trying to win a game of footy. We didn't play proper footy until the last month of the year when we straightened up and played more direct and through the corridor. No coincidence that in the four times we kicked more than 100 points we won 3 games and 2 of those were in the last month.

There should be more names in the "going, going?" column but our "untouchables" is pretty much on the money.
