I believe so, everything exhuasted except reserved seating. I presume this blues area? So if the blue bogger supporters actually go to a game then yes it will sell out.

Imo I think it will sell out, cos most tigers supporters will end up buying those seats

Of the unofficial season opener between Carlton and Richmond on Thursday week, AFL executive Gillon McLachlan said: ''I hope it will have an eight in front of it.

MCC chief executive Stephen Gough endorsed McLachlan's ambition for the ground's first AFL game of the season, predicting more than 80,000 would attend Mick Malthouse's first official hit-out as Carlton coach.

With the Sheffield Shield final now being staged in Hobart, Mr Gough said that the remaining three cricket wickets would be removed from the ground on Wednesday, giving the stadium organisers an extra week to prepare the ground.

Rubbish

Carlton have ticketed games every year against the Pies and Bombers = big games

Point is if we truly want to be a "big club" we have to get to the position of having ticketed games

We always outnumber them at our games

They have ticketed games when successful only otherwise it'll be your standard 60k attendance. If we are successfull every game vs the other big 3 will be ticketed provided the other team is doing well too

Final figure will depend on 2 things how many MCC members bother to show and how many AFL members show

Both those fill ip then they will get 80k +

Those areas end up half empty the number will be around 70-72k

Games involving Rich, Coll, Ess and Blues (AFL members areas) are always pretty full....

In the AFL members reserve All of M, N and P are sold out and front half of "Q sec" top deck meaning A-Z, now selling rear of Q Sec AA and back...I did a mock buy and it stated all those areas as sold out and only rear of Q available....

Area: Reserved Seating

MRC email:

The MCC have today [ed. from yesterday] announced that the club should be highly recommending to members that they purchase a seat for our Round 1 clash against Carlton.

All 16-game members can receive a reduced ticket price, simply enter your 12-digit membership barcode where prompted on the Ticketek website. This will ensure you are charged for the cost of the seat only, and not admission into the game, which you have already paid for with your 16-game membership.
11-game members can simply skip this section and continue to the ticket purchase page.

Anything under 80,000 is disappointing. Bigger build up than last year. 10k more combined members. Both clubs aiming higher and Malthouse coching his first game. Holiday the next day. If a few drops of rain keeps them away them they're as weak as p1ss

My point was this game isn't fully ticketed and 2 days out, now 1 day out they are not suddenly going to make it fully ticketed

And BTW the Cuz first game wasn't fully ticketed. Think you will find our round 1 clashes have never been fully ticketed games

And if you are talking about last year's dreamtime game then with it being a Bummers home game the lesser crowd was due to their crazy reserve seat situation and their members not showing up and other fans not being able to purchase decent seats

Non ticketed should bring more people to the game then. If the weather sucks we could draw less than Hawforn/Geel because there's no rain predicted there atm.

Better be a fully ticketed!  >:(

2 days before the game it isn't suddenly going to become fully ticketed

It isn't fully ticketed

last year Essendon was fully ticket yet only got 80k. The year before non ticketed and got almost 83k

The cuzz v judd game was fully ticket from memory 87k

My point was this game isn't fully ticketed and 2 days out, now 1 day out they are not suddenly going to make it fully ticketed

And BTW the Cuz first game wasn't fully ticketed. Think you will find our round 1 clashes have never been fully ticketed games

And if you are talking about last year's dreamtime game then with it being a Bummers home game the lesser crowd was due to their crazy reserve seat situation and their members not showing up and other fans not being able to purchase decent seats

I think the 2009 Round 1 Counsin's match was ticketed. This was our home match too.

I was a 16 or 17 match member with NO reserve seat and I had to buy a ticket for the match.

At that time we sat in the Great Southern Stand as the only tickets available 1 or 2 days out where them.

Had a lot of general footy public interest for that game too after the ridiculously large media buildup to the game  ::) After our non competitive efforts from that point on, that interest has waned somewhat. Still get a big crowd but they will be mostly Tigers and Blues fans.

Afl members sold out and public reduced to top level back row. Looks like a sellout on the cards
