Title: Changes for next week vs Hawks?
Post by: pmac21 on March 29, 2018, 10:32:23 PM

Bolton, Conca, Grigg, Castagna all out

Prestia, Soldo, Miles, Moore

Really hope Hardwick makes changes so that players realise you have to fight to keep your spot. Conca has to go, CEllis doesn't contribute much and Bolton too worried about featuring in the highlight reel. Whatever statistic they use to measure player performance will tell the story but at least 4 changes for mine.

I can't understand what's the love for Conca from Dimma. Our Vfl team plenty of depth there and players in form Miles,Higgins,Chor,Moore.

I think we a one tall short need to mix it up a bit Dimma.Either Chor or Moore to help Nank and play forward aslong as there contributing play one.

Out of the three mosquitoes, Bolton did better than Butler and Castagna and impacted the scoreboard unlike the other two more seasoned premiership players.

Jack was worse than all of them though.

If I was dropping any of them it would be Castagna

Miles never ever shirks, wtf is he not in. there were so many of ours were squibbing it up made me angry.  No point saving yourself if you are losing ffs.  Lloyd as well.  If some of ours think they are prima donnas now they got a medal, time for some vfl, let the unlucky ones have a stuffing run and we will see some friggen effort.

Hooter me old China, Miles is slow, doesn't tackle and Lloyd's as unnaccountable & selfish as they come...

Out: Bolton, CEllis, McIntosh, Conca

In: Moore, Prestia, Garthwaite, Higgins

EDIT: forgot about Vlastuin...swap him for Garthwaite...

Out: Conca. Macintosh. Castagna.

Ins: Prestia. Vlaustin. Any one of the M’s dependant on team balance (Miles, Moore, Menadue, Markov).

I still don’t know why many want Bolton dropped when he was better then the other three,
Jack included.

Sack the coach...who's training well?

FFS i hate Adelaide, Tex Walker looks like a VW with 2 open doors, you would think they won the granny.

Out B Ellis, in Lloyd, out Conca, in Miles, happy with Bolton, but if you need to change in Stengle.

Gee i hate Adelaide....sorry I already said that.

Can play , but doesn’t read game well at the moment

Honestly, these players need to be dropped;

Grigg
B Ellis
Conca
C Ellis
McIntosh

Bolton - has played less than 10 matches ...

Not enough coming out of Butler or Castanga

OUT - IN
Caddy (suspended) - Prestia
Conca - Vlastuin
C Ellis -  Balta or Moore

On notice - Townsend, 3 smalls

i would risk Higgins for Bolton ...

You can drop players all day and agree with Bellis and Conca, but i think that the game plan suffered against Adelaide.

When playing against a TALL team we need to bring the ball in LOW and we kept playing the ball high.

I think Bolton needs more game time, he does some nice things and is lively.

We will have a massive test against Hawthorn which will really test us.

Team selection is critical as we want to tell all our players that their selection needs to be earned.

Small worked last year and we were the perfect storm, but we need to develop talls ASAP.
Cows played it well and we weren't to clever, interesting game coming up against the hawks.

I would cut the Broad suspension by a week, don't say nothing no one will notice. :shh
Prestia straight back in

We can certainly tell them to get stuffed but seeing they weren't the ones who suspended him; we were then no he wont be playing

I love a good over reaction to a loss, a few more and we should even get some of the lurking doctors back and posting again.

LMAO @ Townsend on notice

I know what you are saying BUT those players mentioned have not played well at all this year. We must reward form showed in the seconds (albeit in practice matches). Also those mentioned all have senior experience except for Higgo.

I love Macca but he has been awful so far this year. Menadue would be an upgrade. We were thrashed in conrested ball now in both games. Bring in both contested ball beasts in Miles and Prestia. Bolton needs a run in the seconds. Bring in a debutant. We are one of the few sides who haven't done so so far.

Could be wrong but pretty sure Conca's only ever lost his place in the seniors through injury or suspension -  can't recall him ever being dropped on form?

Well if that's the case we cannot go to the next level as a team carrying players like him and Dimma can't go back tohis old ways gifting games. We have got better players in form who I rather see.Miles,Menadue and Markov.

In the mix: round three

RICHMOND

Get them in: It's getting harder to ignore small forward/midfielder Jack Higgins with the first-round draft pick from last year catching the eye again in a VFL hit-out on the weekend. Higgins had 22 disposals, took six marks, laid five tackles and kicked a goal to cap off an impressive summer. With Josh Caddy out, Higgins, who was an emergency last week,  could get his chance, or Callum Moore or Ivan Soldo if they want to maintain a bit more height. Connor Menadue has also shown good form in the VFL off half-back.

Under the pump: There'll be one enforced change with Caddy suspended, but others could pay the price for the Tigers' loss to the Crows. Shai Bolton has been quiet in his two games this season with just one goal while Reece Conca and Corey Ellis could be in the gun for the second week running after limited contribution.

Medical room:
Nick Vlastuin should play provided he gets through training and passes fitness tests after missing last week with delayed concussion symptoms. Dion Prestia played two and a bit quarters of a VFL practice match in his first competitive hit-out for 2018 and is over the hamstring injury that derailed his pre-season. Given his lack of summer training, he's likely to need more minutes at VFL level. Caddy is out for a week while Nathan Broad has one more to go on his club sanction.

Verdict: They've got to make at least one change – too many more could appear a kneejerk reaction to their first loss since round 21 last year. Two seems plausible, with Vlastuin and Higgins to come in for Caddy and Corey Ellis.

Expect Nick Vlastuin to play this week after missing with concussion symptoms and Daniel Rioli is looking to be available within the next month, having resumed running. Dion Prestia got through a game in the VFL and should be available for selection this week pending match fitness.
