Post by: one-eyed on July 05, 2020, 06:10:27 PM
Nank, Prestia & Cotch all looking like forced changes  :(.

Houli & Edwards not heading up to the hub. So that's 5.

Other than Bolton who I thought was stiff to be dropped, I’d like to see some of the young players who haven’t played this season get a chance.

Out: nank, cotch, Prestia, Houli, Edwards

In: CCJ, Dow, RCD, DES, Bolton

Hardwick revealed post-game Lynch played out the game with a broken finger. But scans will determine the severity of the injury.

Possibly 6 out of our top 10 (arguebly). Can't think of how you replace them. Im not going to even suggest who comes in as I haven't seen any of the practice games. Going to me tough.

POTENTIAL RICHMOND 2020 ROUND SIX TEAM

B: Nick Vlastuin, Dylan Grimes, Nathan Broad
HB: Jayden Short, Noah Balta, Liam Baker
C: Kamdyn McIntosh, Jack Ross, Josh Caddy
HF: Jake Aarts, Jack Riewoldt, Daniel Rioli
F: Jason Castagna, Dustin Martin, Jack Higgins
FOLL: Ivan Soldo, Jack Graham, Kane Lambert
I/C: Marlion Pickett, Shai Bolton, Thomson Dow, Mabior Chol

IN (from 2019 GF): Noah Balta, Kamdyn McIntosh, Jake Aarts, Jack Higgins, Mabior Chol, Jack Ross, Thomson Dow, Jack Graham.

OUT (from 2019 GF): David Astbury (knee), Bachar Houli (personal), Brandon Ellis (trade), Dion Prestia (syndesmosis), Trent Cotchin (hamstring), Tom Lynch (broken finger), Toby Nankervis (syndesmosis), Shane Edwards (personal)

IN (this week):
Jack Ross, Thomson Dow, Jack Graham, Marlion Pickett, Shai Bolton, Ivan Soldo.

OUT (this week): Bachar Houli (personal), Shane Edwards (personal), Dion Prestia (syndesmosis), Trent Cotchin (hamstring), Toby Nankervis (syndesmosis), Tom Lynch (broken finger).

Richmond has been mightily impressed by the development of first-round draft pick Thomson Dow, who looks slightly ahead of Riley Collier-Dawkins and is pressing for a senior debut. Noah Balta was among the best on Sunday, replacing Astbury in the backline. Jack Ross and Jack Graham will give the midfield some grunt in the absence of Cotchin and Edwards, while Jack Higgins will keep his place after a couple of solid weeks in the forward line. Jake Aarts enjoyed a really impressive debut against Melbourne, doing more than enough to keep his spot, while Mabior Chol's versatility will give some support for Soldo in the ruck. Kamdyn McIntosh has done enough to keep his place on a wing.

Team tips
: It‘s going to be a busy Richmond selection meeting, with as many as six big-name stars set to miss. Trent Cotchin (hamstring), Dion Prestia (ankle), Toby Nankervis (ankle), Bachar Houli (family reasons) and Shane Edwards (family reasons) are already confirmed, while Tom Lynch (fractured hand) is very unlikely to be ready for Sunday. So who replaces them? Omitted trio Jack Ross, Shai Bolton and Sydney Stack are all likely, while Ivan Soldo is an easy call in the ruck. Does Marlion Pickett regain his spot? Recent draftees Riley Collier-Dawkins and Thomson Dow will push for selection while Callum Coleman-Jones may get a gig replacing Lynch.

In the Mix - Round 6

Richmond

Expect the Tigers to make at least five changes for Sunday's clash against Sydney at the Gabba. Bachar Houli and Shane Edwards decided against going into hub life, while Trent Cotchin (hamstring), Dion Prestia (ankle) and Toby Nankervis (ankle) all picked up injuries on the weekend. Tom Lynch is hopeful of playing despite having surgery on a broken hand, but appears doubtful. Ivan Soldo is the logical replacement for Nankervis, while Jack Graham, Marlion Pickett, Jack Ross, Shai Bolton and Sydney Stack will all be in the mix. Don't discount Pat Naish for a spot on half-back, while Thomson Dow will be considered for his debut.

Verdict: Soldo, Graham, Stack, Pickett, Ross and Bolton for Nankervis, Cotchin, Houli, Edwards, Prestia and Lynch.

It‘s going to be a busy RICHMOND selection meeting, with as many as six big-name stars set to miss the clash with Sydney. Trent Cotchin (hamstring), Dion Prestia (ankle), Toby Nankervis (ankle), Bachar Houli (family reasons) and Shane Edwards (family reasons) are already confirmed, while Tom Lynch (fractured hand) is unlikely to be ready for Sunday.

Omitted trio Jack Ross, Shai Bolton and Sydney Stack are all likely to return, while Ivan Soldo is an easy like-for-like ruck replacement for Nankervis, unless they opt for Callum Coleman-Jones.

Recent draftees Riley Collier-Dawkins and Thomson Dow will push for selection, but Marlion Pickett appears a near certainty to regain his spot after an excellent scratch match outing.

Tigers development coach Xavier Clarke said Pickett laid eight tackles, adding his “pressure around the ball was his biggest highlight”.

“He had some really unbelievable passages of play, finding a teammate by foot either coming out of the back half or coming through the midfield,” Clarke told the club’s website.

Yep I reckon with others down on form, Houli has dodged some criticism.

Some of his efforts have been Bellis like.

Glad he isn’t playing to be honest.

Bachar should take this opportunity to focus on his family and his academy and retire gracefully as a two time premiership player. He has been sensational but uts time.
