Think we have two spots available.
Academy prospect Derek Smith almost certain to be one....so Krueger or Riccardi for me.
Other options:
Bernacki, Scharenberg, Beasley, re-rookie Lennon, Podhajski, Jaksch, Goodwin (Coburg), Sam Nelson (WAFL)
...or Jackson Edwards for the laughs....
Ideally we should get one more tall and one more inside mid but unfortunately Smith, who we seem commited to rookie-ing(is that actually a word?) is neither, so flip a coin and with depth like Miles still on the the list, as well as CEllis who can play inside & outside, and Conca who can go in the guts as well(and belongs there IMO) I'd go with the tall. (although this why I like Lennon as he can be both. :shh )

You are allowed to have between 4 (min) to 6 (max) category A (normal) rookies and 3 category B (international/non-registered footy) rookies.
http://www.afl.com.au/afl-hq/the-afl-explained/rookie-players
Based on that, we have 3 spots free on our category A rookie list as we have currently 3 (Stengle, Moore, Chol).
This year we had 4 category A rookies (the above three plus Castagna who's been now promoted to the senior list) and one category B (Soldo - also now promoted).

WHEN IS THE ROOKIE DRAFT HELD?
THE 2017 Rookie Draft will be held from 5pm AEDT on Monday, November 27.
While the rookie draft will not be televised, foxfooty.com.au will provide live coverage of the picks as they happen online.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
UNLIKE the national draft where every club convenes at the one venue, the rookie draft is conducted via a conference call and computer screen that is administered from AFL headquarters.
Clubs are granted two minutes for each selection and will be granted the opportunity to ask for extra time, mirroring the rules of the national draft.
Clubs log their selections in real time via a computer.
THE ROOKIE DRAFT
THE order of the rookie draft is dictated by last year’s season, with the order the reverse of the AFL ladder.
Richmond, as premiers, will have the 18th selection. Brisbane, as wooden spooners, will have the first selection.
Nb: The rookie draft will proceed in this order over several rounds with some exceptions based on number of list spots available.
First Round:
1. Brisbane
2. Gold Coast
3. Carlton
4. North Melbourne
5. Fremantle
6. Collingwood
7. Hawthorn
8. St Kilda
9. Western Bulldogs
10. Melbourne
11. Essendon
12. Port Adelaide
13. West Coast
14. Sydney
15. Geelong
16. GWS
17. Adelaide
18. Richmond

Dunno about the 3 spots.

In the section about List Size it says 40 plus 4 A rookies and 3 B Rookies.
This year we had 40 + 4 (A) + 1 (B)
So we can take 1 (A) replacing Castagna and up to 3 (B) replacing Soldo.
-
Pretty sure we upgraded Stengle ahead of the draft. So we hve to Cat A spots,
Actually....think we can take Smith as a Cat B if no-one else picks him. ...and also that Irish bloke we're linked too and I heard we were looking at some yanks as well...
So two Cat A spots free.
Krueger & Scharenberg for me ....though looking at One Eyed's post....is Parish inside? Could do with a mid that size.... :shh
-
Stengle is not on the main
He is a retained rookie
-
So we only have one live Cat A selection then?
Also - wasn't the AFL supposed to be changing the rule for next year so that rookies are now eligible for senior selection without needing to be elevated?
Is Cassidy Parish Darcy's brother?

I think he is and he is a spud
-
I like his size though.....and if he spuds it up we can always shift him forward like a certain other spud mid who turned out to be quite useful around the goals late in the year ....has the height for it... :shh
...and then if his brother ever gets the urge to leave Eseendon.... :shh :shh

Not worth the investment. Townsend has much more talent than Parish. Snails move faster and his kicking is absolutely horrendous.....
-
Krueger for me if we only have one pick. If not him, then Joel Amartey.
Despite taking some good steps to address the lack of young KPP on our list, we need to have a couple more in the wings.
I think Amartey could develop into a good forward/pinch hitting ruckman. Great athlete.

Thanks for the correction, Redan :cheers.

I would take Nathan Kruegar if he is available. I think from the highlights he showed he is a good leading type player, with lots
of space at the MCG he could go alright.

So there is NO MORE Pre-Season Draft?

So there is NO MORE Pre-Season Draft?
Yes. No Moore this time.

The PSD still exists, will happen @ same time as rookie draft tomorrow @ 5pm
-
Krueger will probably be gone by our pick so I'd go Riccardi, Parrish, Jaksch or Close.
Did hear a rumour we're looking at Hansen... :help
-
Anyone know if Angus Styles is the son of Styles from teen wolf?
-
My teenage daughters are hoping he's the brother of Harry Styles..... :facepalm
-
I don't get why they don't fill cat B rookies every year. They seem a free hit to me. Load up on 3 Irish or 3 Yankee basket ballers. Are they considered bad luck or something.
-
Probably because they still cost money and take up resources.....
-
Derek Smith will get picked by us
Played VFL for us ( academy player )
Likely type
Although needs to work on fitness
Can play though

I have - watched him play some game for us at VFL level. Nice left foot and can attack from the back but lacked defensive technique. Has enough speed and like most left footers glides along nicely.

Baker looks like a lovely kick on both sides and reads the play well and has a nice turn of speed. No doubt he can develop in the guts. :clapping
