Al Neville:

DOB 17/8/85

HT: 189cms

Wt: 85kgs

VJoint Coburg Vice-Captain in 2007.

Tied with Jake King for the Coburg B&F last season. Based on his form this year would have to leading it this year. How he didn't make last years VFL team of the Year begs belief. Did the pre-season with St Kilda last year. Would have to be a favourite for the Liston Trophy (VFL equivalent to the Brownlow).

In a word = GUN.

 :thumbsup

What's happening now with Neville given he wasn't picked up in the drafts. Will he continue playing on with Coburg?

I hope so too. He needs to work on his footskills under pressure though if he is to make the jump to AFL.

valenti is a very handy player though, zippy mids who can kick goals are gold

neville is overrated, we have too many "nevilles" in our team

wouldn't say we have too many ready-made ball-winners

No great surprise he wasn't at training - he has been training flat out for 5-6 weeks now at Melb.

Kid deserves a few days off  ;D

I reckon he will be back :thumbsup

Al Neville:

WP, does this qualify Al for a mature rookie in the 08 Rookie Draft, or does he qualify in 09  ?

I think it qualifies him in both years Darth. I think he will too old for the normal rookie listing next in 2008

MT would know :thumbsup

Thanks WP, now that Al has had consecutive pre-seasons at AFL clubs, hopefully he can maintain his consistency and improve some of his foot skills to get a crack at the mature age rookie.

MT, how has he responded to not being picked up in 07 ?

Will he be at Coburg next year ??

No idea as yet in regards to the last two questions Darth although he must feel disappointed. I don't think the VFL finals did him any favours as it showed up his ordinary disposal under pressure.

He's eligible this time next year to be picked up as a mature (23 y.o. or older at Jan 1) rookie as he's never been on a AFL list to my knowledge.

Intersting. I would hope in 2008; Johnson (30), Tuck (26), Cogs (25) are inside mids in their prime ready to go round 1. More so, I would hope King (24), Foley (22), Polo (21) could give them a hand.

Newman? Raines? Jackson? White? Deledio? Connors?

Was good to see Nat Caruso back for his first session with the ball last night after injuring himself in the GF.

He is in fantastic condition and looks set for a big year.

Hopefully with more talls and ruckmen on Richmond's list he won't be needed to ruck for Coburg anymore.
