Been reported to miss up to 3 weeks.
-
3 weeks, ha, make it 8 weeks and you might be close if the clubs previous injury estimates are anything to go by. Interested who will made captain next week with no Rance either.
-
yes that is correct

Deledio ;D

It's a fractured cheek bone. Will have surgery tomorrow.
-
Maybe good for the club as it really puts pressure on the younger ones. This is where stars are born ;D

What a horror story this is turning out to be. I feel for this bloke playing with this injury and still getting the hard ball whilst fully fit team mates refuse to go in :banghead

I heard Cotch did it to himself so he didn't have to play another game of footy for awhile with the same poo players and same poo game plan.
Appantly he asked Houli to do it to him but after 10 attempts Cotch gave up and did it to himself.
I hate Houli...
You can only :lol

Yep
Like a depressed animal in a zoo killing itsel

All part of the rebuild plan

Yes makes you wonder. l near smashed my TV when l seen Rioli squib. If players see that the players start fighting among themselves. Then you have blokes like Cotchin who busts his guts & puts himself in danger many times a game. l wouldn't be surprised if Edwards has arm damage also from being kicked

Well aint this just swell :-[
stuffing hell Hawthorn are going to pound us

I thought he was putrid last night. Really bad.
Fair enough about the jaw.
He has to show a bit more composure sometimes when he gets the footy. How many times did he just slam the footy on his foot last night? He has got himself into a bad habit of doing this as apposed to what he used to do and try and break the tackle first before considering that stupid little kick while in the tackle. (Obviously having a sore face will have contributed to him not wanting to get tackled)
I hope he takes the next few weeks to freshen up and maybe look at some old tapes of himself. He needs to see what used to work so well. Not debating his efforts though. He is one that can hold his head high in that respect.

I heard it was caused by a stray Hampsud fist. :whistle

Fractured cheekbone to sideline Cotchin
AFL.com.au
May 1, 2016
RICHMOND captain Trent Cotchin will miss at least two weeks after suffering a fractured cheekbone in the Tigers' 35-point loss to Port Adelaide at the MCG on Saturday night.
The 26-year-old picked up the injury in the opening minutes of the first quarter, but managed to play out the game.
A Richmond spokesperson confirmed to AFL.com.au on Sunday that Cotchin would have surgery on Monday to repair the damage.
Tigers football manager Dan Richardson said the club was only made aware of Cotchin's fracture after the game, and he praised the skipper's leadership qualities.
"We didn't know about it until after the game, so that shows how courageous it was," Richardson told Triple M on Sunday.
"He didn't put his hand up to come off the ground and we all know how much criticism, at times, Trent's copped from the footy world but … what he did last night shows the courage of the man and shows what a great leader he is for this footy club."
Despite the injury, Cotchin finished the match against the Power with 19 disposals and two tackles.
Cotchin assumed the captaincy duties at the Tigers in 2013, but his on-field leadership has sometimes come under scrutiny.

We have 2 vice captains Deledio and Maric
Will be one of those

I've been a tough critic of Cotchin's this year and those gone by.
But two things I will give him credit for are that he is trying to play more attacking/damaging football by kicking longer and yeah it takes a lot of character and toughness to play with a broken cheekbone.
Still not convinced of his ability to captain the team however. But he's doing better...
-
What a disgrace the media are , not one has picked Hartlet reached over bodies in a pack and King hit Cotchin is just one player in the team but no one can accuse him of giving up.

^
I didn't see the/any incident - is that what actually happened?

Why not, Jack?

because ivan has never patted his head in a friendly manner while having his boots cleaned.

:lol

Neither deserve to play on yesterday's performance.
If Maric was a thoroughbred, he would be put down by the owners.
Hampson wouldn't be because he isn't close to a thoroughbred..... :whistle

At a guess it's because Stephen Hawking would currently beat him in a race for a loose ball get

Tiger injury woes grow as Cotchin surgery successful
AFL.com.au
May 3, 2016
RICHMOND captain Trent Cotchin has undergone successful surgery on his broken cheekbone but is still expected to miss at least two matches.
Cotchin underwent surgery on Monday after playing through the majority of Saturday night's clash against Port Adelaide with the minor fracture.
His absence against Hawthorn on Friday night adds to a growing injury toll, with midfielder Kane Lambert now back at the club after suffering a cracked rub and punctured lung.
The club is hopeful Lambert could return in under three weeks.
Vice-captain Brett Deledio has pulled up well from his first match of the season as the Tigers manage their way through a six-day break, and he could be in line to captain the club this week.
The club is likely to choose one of Deledio or ruckman Ivan Maric to step in for Cotchin and lead the team.
The absence of suspended defender Alex Rance could be partly offset by the return of defenders Nick Vlastuin (knee) and Dylan Grimes (hamstring), who will need to pass fitness tests this week.
Both trained on Tuesday and are expected to face the Hawks at the MCG on Friday night.

Cotch said he's had the plate inserted into his cheek and has his fingers and toes crossed to play next week against the Swans. It'll be up to what the surgeon said.
