Who is Mr X?
--------------------
“We have a very exciting group of young players.... But the most important thing is the coaching staff. The fact they are going to be here for the next few years is something we’ve lacked in the past and to know they’ve got someone to guide their development is very important,” X says.
X is full of praise for the coaching team and rates the mix.... as the best in the business.
He says the main difference between the Tiger teams of the past and the present is the players’ belief in the coaches and the coaches’ faith in the players.
“There’s an air of confidence and consolidation here now. The coaches have to take a lot of credit. From the very first day .... you’d be out there and working on how we would play and how we’d turn defence into attack and how we’d move it inside the 50 metres.
Unlike in the past, X believes the Tigers now have a set game-plan which they refer to no matter what position they are in during a game or throughout the season.
“We’ve got a really strong game-plan which is reinforced daily at training and which offsets any confusion when you are struggling or battling through a game. If you’ve got a strong game-plan, then you’ve always got the confidence to stick to it and know you’ll come good at some stage.”

Joel Bowden :lol
Not Joel lol. Joel's not over 190cm.
I would say the Club would consider Mr X one of the brightest players off-field we've had.
Hint 3: Took a while to come on after his debut. Never a superstar but still a very able and likeable AFL footballer.

Sounds like Richo

Well done FF :cheers. Yes it's about Spud ;).
Here's the complete quote from Benny Gale - dated 7th September 2001.
“We have a very exciting group of young players – guys like (Greg) Tivendale, (Kane) Pettifer, (Aaron) Fiora, (Brad) Ottens and (Ray) Hall. But the most important thing is the coaching staff. The fact they are going to be here for the next few years is something we’ve lacked in the past and to know they’ve got someone to guide their development is very important,” he says.
Gale is full of praise for the coaching team and rates the mix of Frawley, Darren Crocker, Greg Hutchinson and David Wheadon as the best in the business.
He says the main difference between the Tiger teams of the past and the present is the players’ belief in the coaches and the coaches’ faith in the players.
“There’s an air of confidence and consolidation here now. The coaches have to take a lot of credit. From the very first day with Danny (Frawley), you’d be out there and working on how we would play and how we’d turn defence into attack and how we’d move it inside the 50 metres. Danny’s just been strong and disciplined; guys like (David) Wheadon and (Greg) Hutchinson have been older, wise heads and have helped where necessary.”
Unlike in the past, Gale believes the Tigers now have a set game-plan which they refer to no matter what position they are in during a game or throughout the season.
“We’ve got a really strong game-plan which is reinforced daily at training and which offsets any confusion when you are struggling or battling through a game. If you’ve got a strong game-plan, then you’ve always got the confidence to stick to it and know you’ll come good at some stage.”
