The start of the season is just over a month away. A good time as ever to start discussing everyone's expectations of various Tiger players this year.
First up is Markov.
What are your expectations for Oleg this season and what would be a good year for him?

Deserves to be in the mix fighting for a spot, a bloody hard task that that is.
I like the guy but has to step up and show something more, injury free full preseason let's see what you have son... Bar the wierd Tatts :lol

Sadly, don't have many expectations for Oleg
Think he is further down the pecking order in 2019
Really cant see him getting much AFL game time TBH
-
How's his preseason been tho might give us the run and carry of half back we need to.

From what I have seen of Markov, I think he can be a player.
Houli’s days are numbered IMO so it will be interesting to see who can step up like Shorty did last year.
Whoever it is they will have to play good footy to get a game in our side.
How f$&king good is that to say and it be true.
Can’t wait for it all to start.

I think there is an opening for a rebounding defender with Houli coming to the end of his career. But there looks to be a number of young players in line for the role.
So it is over to Markov really. Every time I see the guy on TV he looks like someone who just loves life, always similing. I wish him all the best, but he is really going to have to pull out all stops to make it into this team on a full time basis.
I think a good year for him would be playing 12 games and holding his spot for a run of games on form, rather than injury to other players.

It's time for him to shine to take over Bacha's position....Up to him

Was Markov injured last year?

Was Markov injured last year?
Yes. Was playing well in the twos before he did a medial ligament in his knee.

So typically how long does that injury take to overcome?

He was back playing in the latter part of the season from memory, didn't he play in the semi final v Essendon? Played well from memory too.
3 months im guessing was his time out injured

Thanks for the info, hopefully he gets his chance this year and takes the bull by the horns

time to step up for Oleg.
We seem to have him pencilled in as a H/B But i reckon he has all the attributes to play as a utility.Playing on a wing should hold no problems for him and he did well as a junior up fwd when played there.
Has had injuries and has always been a bit undersized i think that is now corrected. With size he can now compete stick tackles and just be confident.
Hope he takes the next step.
