Title: Your trade week expectations?
Post by: one-eyed on September 30, 2009, 02:42:30 AM
As the thread title says what are your expectations for next week's trade period?

What would be a reasonable trade week for us?

Trading for draft picks only with the ones we have already told won't play again for us, or maybe, under 22 year olds only! Lets rebuild proper and judge the new coach for that, not what he inherited. Lets save the mature age hopefuls for the PSD, if the quality is there.

A couple of unpredictable (read unpopular) trades

Gotta keep the board busy  :rollin :rollin

Get Davey, Sphanger and Nickoski to the club.... that should do it... :clapping

I hope that was sarcasm.  :chuck :chuck :chuck

Davey would have us give up an early draft pick for player who I don't see as a leader and will be near done by the time we should have a decent list together.

Spangher is a spud.  Don't let his one good game against us give you any misconceptions.  I hope he goes to Carlton if he leaves WCE.  :pray

And Nicoski is decent when fit but he hasn't been for about 3 years now and he'll be 26 at the start of next year so no.  I'd prefer a 19-21 year old playing well in a state league who can kick the footy decently and capacity for improvement than an injury riddled back pocket player with limited time left in the game.

Watch in frustration as the Demons take two dips into a very lean pig trough and smirk at us as we pass them for our turn of whats left.  :banghead

Shocking trades. Waht is it West Coast rejects and getting them to Richmond WAT?

I expect no will demand we use all our picks to pick the best youngsters in the draft and promote Robin Nahas. There is no other solution. Dimma has hinted he will do this now its time to act on it. No quick fixes.

Great to see the Tigers staying out of the news with all these players bandied around.
Players for draft picks only this year.
If Wallace was still there pick 3 would be already committed to another club by now. Probably for a hack like Mclean.
No recyled players please Tigers unless through the PSD.

Want to see at least two player-stuff trades, maybe the odd player for player trade, but no pick for player trades.

Ideally something like:
Raines for 3rd round
Tuck for 2nd round
maybe Hughes for Farmer
Patto for 3rd round

Forgot McMahon too, him for Saints 2nd rounder would be a great result.

Players for Picks as many as possible.
Players for Players maybe 2

Players of Interest from all the names heard in Trade week.

Mitch Farmer may fill a need in Back Pocket as King and others are not the answer.
Jonathon Griffen can fill a big need we have in the Ruck
David Myers would be good if we could get him in the PSD.

ramps have u heard anything about david myers wanting to leave essendon?? is he out of contract?? if he's keen to leave and is like u said a big RFC fan then it would be amazing if we can nab him wit our psd pick.

i would like to see McMahon, Patterson, Schulz shown the exit door as soon as possible for any pick under 100.

They are useless and combined drag us down as a football club.

If Hardwick respects the jumper and the club, he would pee these hacks off for good.

enough is enough

4th rounders would be a win for us.

JON i would swap for a pack of twisty's and Hughes id sway for a picture of MOI.

We need to make the Raines trade on the first day. Get this done RFC!! 3rd round is a good result

i agree with this 'daniel161', however i can not see this happening.

it would not surprise me if these three are still on the list.

i think the 'clean out' we have had so far is good.

we could have a lot more delisted/traded, but we don't know what Mr Hardwick, Mr Cameron and whoever else is on the list management team are thinking.

"All Positive" was Mr Hardwick's words, so who knows what he is going to do with all of them.

Greg Denham let out today that we will be a small player in trade week, picking up a couple of lesser known players.

Can't off load them if no-one wants them Ramps - especially those with contracts.....

What we NEED to DO and what we can actually DO are 2 very different things

Low expectations now given the high profile names on the table from other clubs which lowers Tucky's trade value to probably a 3rd round pick. Looks like Rainesy for pick 44 will be our only trade at this stage. We would need to put a Daniel Jackson on the table to get something decent it seems but we re-signed him for 2 years.

I hope Denham is wrong about us picking up a couple of lesser known players this week. We should not be trading away any of our picks.

Hope not MT. Dimma has been harping on how the draft is the way to go so to go against what he has been saying would be a fatal mistake meaning we will go down the quick fix path. I don't think so. Dimma is a cluey man and he won't want to be compared to previous RFC coaches nor undo all the things he has said on his appointment and at the B&F. Would strangle any hope we have had since the appointment and that would mean membership $$$$$$$$ for next year.

Let's hope so Tucky. Craig Cameron is the list manager as well so we don't want a repeat of his effort last year where we used just 2 picks on kids.

RICHMOND
It will be interesting to see how involved Richmond becomes in trade week. It hasn't been heavily mooted with players, although the Tigers look set to release Raines to the Lions for a third-round selection (No.44). Speculation mounted before the end of the season that Jordan McMahon could be moved on to St Kilda. Shane Tuck will also be one to monitor this week, with his future unclear.

Main game is trading out for picks IMHO. Day 2 seems  to be a traditional D2 trade period day- Nothings happening. Good start yesterday to trading. Voss got criticised but atleast he made yesterday an interesting day Draft wise.

We need a couple of the big deals to go through.

That'll get things moving.

Not will happen again until Friday imo when all the clubs return to Etihad again to meet up and finalise deals.
