Now that's a good trade - would appear to be a win/win for all clubs
Personally I rate Dalziell highly, good get for the Eagles especailly seeing it is packaged with pick 22

Eagles do it better than any club. In the long term, they will win out in the Judd trade.

Little bit puzzled by the Brisbane top-ups. Not sure if Voss is impatient, or if he wants to make the best of J. Browns last few years or if there is pressure from upstairs to make sure they are a the best team in SE Qld when the Gold Coast enter the competition.

make no mistake the lions think they have another window now or at the latest 2011.
They have the following star players from their premiership team nearing the 30 mark in the next year or so, and they are all playing sensational footy
J Brown
Bradshaw
Black
Power
add a few more descent top ups and they are pushing top 4 next year no doubt about that.

Andrew Lovett to the Saints
Essendon gets Saints first round draft pick - what's that about 17 ?
If we were prepared to trade the right player which other clubs believe has currency we could get another 1st round pick..... lost opportunity me thinks

That's not a bad deal at all. WP I think the best we can hope for is another third rounder. We're a bit like a Queen Vic Markets fruit stall at 3:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. Hard to get top dollar for our Mangoes when they are all bruised and over ripe.

16 I think.
For whatever reason they do the picks after the finals ???

You're thinking of Foley too WP?
Also, whatever the Saints might have seen in McMahon (pace ?) its clear that Lovett is a better outside player and any skerrick hope we might have had to offload him there now appears gone.

Absolutely jake. Haven't tried to hide my views that Foley was our best option of trading for another first round pick

I think you're right on the money :thumbsup

Huh?
They would have agreed a trade of picks when the Seaby-Staker-Dalziell-Buchanon mega trade went through. Sydney would have said yes to the deal on the condition that if the Hall trade went through Brisbane would swap the #39 (from West Coast originally) for the #47 they were possibly getting from the Doggies. Imagine there was probably some fine print somewhere.

Please take Jordy, he's quick!

Yep they did in the GF but I would say trading Peake and Lovett has left us stuck with Jordie for one more year :P. The Saints must have hardly any picks left unless they score a decent pick for Ball.
-
Beat me to it MT
With Peake now heading to the Saints - not a hope in hell of Jordie being traded now
BTW Are teams allowed to trade rookies this year or not?

Geelong are going to come out of this looking pretty smart. Nothing earth shattering here, but to exchange 33 for 40, 42 and 56 is great business.
Lost: 33, 49 and Mumford
Gained: 28, 40, 42, 56 and Drum

For a long time yep but not overall.
46 players were traded to another club in 1991. The year we traded for Stevan Jackson, Todd Breman and Steve O'Dwyer :P.
