Brags to riches

ANOTHER Tiger will be a big winner at the Masters.
Richmond president Gary March has the franchise for the merchandise through his company Hopgreen.
Those in the know say at least $1 million in sales is expected.
The cheapest souvenir, a Masters cap, costs $25, but you'll pay $50 for the ones with the TW emblem.
While Masters polo tops cost $70-$90, a shirt similar to the one Tiger Woods will wear on Thursday sells for $150.
And a box of 12 Woods-endorsed balls costs $80.

I hope he pumps the profits into the Tiges! :)
I wonder why the heck we are paying $3Million for an appearance fee, he's a great golfer for sure but it seems excessive given the economic times.

Probably because its the only way they can make the tournament turn a profit. By the time you add attendances, sponsorships, media and marketing revenues he will have repaid his appearance fee over and over. No other current golfer I can think of would be able to guarantee that - with emphasis on the word "guarantee". Did I hear on the radio that 20k turned out to watch him at the pro-am?

You have to spend money, to make money.
The hype surrounding the tournament is huge, 80,000 tickets @ $44 is $3.5m, heaps of sponsors, merchandise etc. Money well spent.

So that's how he's getting rid of those Terry Wallace caps.
