Title: Quicktime software
Post by: Ramps on November 27, 2009, 08:18:13 AM
I believe this is an Apple application. What I want to know is can you download it onto a non Apple computer? what in the old days was termed a IBM compatible computer?

I'm pretty sure you can get quicktime software for winblows, Ramps, or at least codecs to allow quicktime media to be played on windows media player.
If no one has pointed you in the right direction in the meantime, I'll hunt something up this evening for you.

Apple has always been a different operating system to micro$oft, BTW.

Quicktime will definately run on windows based PC's Ramps, just be a little carefull when setting it up that you only select the types of media you want it to run as it has a tendancy of hijacking (for lack of a better word) the system.
For example things you used to watch on windows media player will start playing on quicktime.

I have Apple Quicktime on my laptop and it runs on Windows XP.

As Jacosh said only select the media files you want to use as it can hog all media files that you would prefer to see with realplayer, Windows media player or Winamp.
