PS/rookie draft preview: club by club
afl.com.au
By Matt Burgan | Thu 10 December, 2009
RICHMOND
Pre-season selections: 1 (2)
Rookie selections: 6 (7, 23, 38, 51, 62, 70)
Locked in: Jamie O'Reilly - international
Needs: The Tigers are likely to target players across each position, although a focus could be on tall and mid-sized defender/forwards. Players with strong kicking skills will also be a focus.
In their sights: Youngsters Dylan Grimes and Robbie Hicks are believed to be serious contenders for the Tigers' second pick in the pre-season draft, and could also be claimed in the rookie draft. Eastern's Jayden Cass and Josh Free, the son of former Richmond skipper Tony, are also in the rookie mix. Expect big man Graham Polak to be redrafted as a rookie.

could there be any surprises?

probably could be some suprises.
Burgan's analysis is pretty contradictory. he says the focus could be on tall/mid sized forwards/backs. Yet all the names he mentioned apart from Grimes are small.
-
and even Grimes is small for a KPD.

Isn't Grimes 192cm tall? That's not short for a key defender. The problem with our key defenders is weight/strength or rather not enough it rather than lack of height.

i think Grimes is a Tall!
