Apparently these tv figures may have been skewed to favour NRL (claims they don't include regional SA, WA, NT or Tas) but anyway taking them on face value out of all the football codes Richmond was supposedly the 13th most watched club on tv last year.

This comment on the article from Db of Melbourne,
"
when the NRL like to include the regionals you do realise that Regional SA, WA, and the NT are excluded and most likely Tas, not to mention the double counting in Qld and NSW also there are 16 extra games in an NRL year, 3 hours compared to 2 etc. they are not comparing like statistics" which sums it all up just peachy for mine re Nrl v Afl. With regards to us being 13th, well, when we start winning more will tune in and turn up to games I spose.

It helps when the AFL fixes the draw to give certain clubs all the Friday night games (hello Collingwood and last year Carlton). Not a bad effort from us to be on par with the Bombers in terms of FTA TV viewers.
