6 days a week off the top of my head. Morning and arvo sessions. During the preseason they have one day off although it's usually a day they don't have to come in to the club to train so they may train alone. During the season they don't training between the morning of the day before a game up until gametime. Training is light for 2-3 days after a game as they are usually very sore in the body from the collisions of an AFL game. Ice baths, dips in the ocean and light running and circle work. The days of a senior coach flogging the guts out of his players on the track at 6am Sunday after a bad loss are long gone.

A good flogging on the track every now and then won't go astray whether a team is winning or not.

Absolutely but it won't happen at 6am the day after.

I agree Tucker - but I'd like to see us use video review to the max to drill home the game plan. I'm thinking 5+ hours on top of the normal match review process. Each player would be given a video with some of their decisions from the weekend and asked to justify why they did what they did. Sort of like an exam.

Half of them still play like they got no clue.

I know the coach isn't full time - saw him playing trivial pursuit at the local on Sunday  :lol
