Title: Is Rex a life member?
Post by: mightytiges on November 18, 2004, 11:58:28 PM
Does anyone know if Rex is a life member?

According to the constitution life members have the same voting rights as ordinary members and I presume if that's the case they can run for a board position:

3.3.3   Any person elected to Life Membership shall be exempt from payment of any further subscription but shall nevertheless have the same voting rights as an Ordinary Member.

Just to answer my own question - No. Played only 121 games for the Tiges and wasn't at the Club for 10 years.

Yeah unlike a lot of other AFL Clubs we do not award Life Membership to our premiership players. Could you imagine Freame from the 1980 Premiership side being a life member having played a total of 17 games :-\

Or the guy who's name I've just forgotten who played 1 game - the 1920 GF and premiership - before accidently shooting himself in the foot on his farm :o and never playin footy again.
