i thought melbourne exposed quite afew flaws in the pies game yesterday. collingwood cannot win the flag, and they seem to have wasted time, money and picks on getting Jolly and Ball. Jolly is no where at the moment and Ball cant kick!

Collingwood are more than happy to remain competitive without tasting ultimate success in order to tell others how big their membership supporter base is and how good their facilities are. The mystique of Collingwood failing in unbelievable and cruel circumstances is more important to Collingwood and their fans than the glory of ultimate success. It creates the us against them mindset and gets the ferals going. :lol :rollin :lol

Blind faith means no scrutiny for Eddie, Mick and co. and nothing changes at Pieland always falling short. Mick has screwed Bucks with his top up recruiting the last few years. In 2-3 years time when their senior players retire or slow down they'll be walking into a bottom 4 hole. Hopefully we are starting to move up so we can enjoy it properly lol.

Very very amusing.

I can understand where he's coming from sure he's been held at gun point so the pressure of playing elite football week in and week out is nothing compared to that and takes his football as a pleasure instead of a job.

I don't care if my opponent kicks 10 goals... ahhh surely edit that lol

What a tossbag. Collingwood recruit footballers and then turn these so called footballers into wankers. Sadly there are bigger wankers than O'Brien at Collingwood. Just look at his captain.
Is there currently a bigger wanker in the league right now? I certainly don't care what he has to say. I find my lounge room rug has more character.

If wanking was a premiership prerequisite they would have won 45 flags since 1958.

Col E Wobbles would really be stiff they wouldn't of have allegedly buried him in 1990. :rollin

It's all in their wrists.

You gotta hand it to me folks, I can spot a "special" person a mile away lol  ;)
I'm working at the moment and no time to really comment so enjoy the read :-)

EXCLUSIVE: COLLINGWOOD footballer Harry O'Brien wants to meet Barack Obama during his Australian visit next month, and is assembling a powerful lobby group.

Brazilian-born O'Brien has written to the AFL to try to arrange a meeting with the US president, prompting chief executive Andrew Demetriou to raise the request with Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

O'Brien has also enlisted the support and reach of Collingwood president and media heavyweight Eddie McGuire.

After Mr Demetriou told Mr Rudd a precis of the O'Brien story during the Collingwood-Essendon game at the MCG on Anzac Day, Mr Rudd said: "I'd like to meet him."

The O'Brien letter, seen by the Herald Sun, says: "I desire to meet individuals who share similar visions and crusades as myself so that I can feed off their energy and continue to drive myself towards the direction of giving hope to all people.

"For me, this is much more than a meet-and-greet where I would then be able to walk away with a story to share with my grandchildren about the day I met with President Obama.

"This is about the voice of the children's cries I still hear from the HIV-infected orphans I cared for in Africa, the millions of women violently abused throughout Australia, depressed men who see no other option but to end their lives through their own hands, indigenous youth following a chain of dysfunction, forgotten homeless mental health sufferers throughout Australia, and immigrants to Australia who have trouble integrating into Australian culture. (His stepfather took his own life in Perth in 2009).

"This is my way of life. That is why I would love to get the opportunity to represent not only the AFL and the Collingwood Football Club, but all the other affiliations I have made in my short time and will continue to make, in meeting the US president."

O'Brien, who came to Australia as a three-year-old, is known for his dashing style as a Collingwood defender and his keen social awareness.

He carries a tattoo of "Audacity of Hope" on his left arm and friends say he feels a bond with the US president, given their African fathers and upbringings in broken families.

O'Brien, 23, was unavailable to the Herald Sun this week.

Mr Demetriou said: "Yes, I received a letter from Harry O'Brien. I've made Harry's request known to the Federal Government and, hopefully, it can happen."

O'Brien is a remarkable figure in AFL player ranks.

He is the AFL's multicultural ambassador and an ambassador for the Burnet Institute, which allows him to travel to Mozambique, South Africa and the Congo to spread their stories to the world.

His creed is "Live for Hope".

O'Brien was recruited from Claremont in Perth as a rookie and has played 91 games in six seasons with the Magpies.

Maybe Harry is after the Nobel Peace Prize lol. The solution to problems in the Middle East is everyone there having 10 goals kicked on them and not feeling pressure  ;D.

Typical Collingwood tosser and of course his ego is helped by Eddie himself.

Its arrogance disdain and delusions of grandeur that see you up for a huge fall if you don't focus solely on your task. ;D

Really who gives a fa.

If he played for any other club he would just be another player who's just a little eccentric.

Why is the media so interested in trying to present these bogans from Collingwood as some sort of model citizens who live interesting and wonderful lives? :sleep

How I want some magpie to get pi$$ed back in Melbourne and put them in the news for all the right reasons to show that these guys are really maggots and filth.

concentrate on playing football. Thats what you're paid to do.

You've been poo for a month

he does nothing but bomb the ball and thats poo.

Less time twittering and obamaing and more time plying the trade that pays you.

I think he should change his name to Harry-change-the-world, because he sure insn't changing much on the footy field. Been disappointing the last month.

SEN guy: "When you first started your AFL career you mustn't thought about playing 100 games?"

Now the typical answer to this question is 'no I was just trying and happy to get a game at first'

O'Brien: "Oh yes I always thought I would reach 100 games"

Humble Harry lol :wallywink
