We usually bag the players but here is a decent whack!
D. Hardwick.
ONLY positional change for the night was putting Simmonds are forward in the last 10 minutes of the game when he was completely SPENT.
How on earth can you play the same 6 players inside F50 and D50 for the entire game has got me beat.- especially when your getting FLOGGED
Then coached the second half from the bench and took notes and looked at the laptop the guy beside him was holding. ::) ::) ::)
Will say this, both B.Scott and D. Hardwicks coaching efforts this weekend were terrible.
We had players in the first quarter who""patsy caked "" the ball instead of grabbing it and taking punishment from the opposition and they werent even dragged.
Thats Auskick stuff :banghead
NEVER EVER want to see Nahas again either. Schoolboy footballer

Oh no here we go again! Blame the coach for your outlandish prediction of a win not coming to fruition! And you call us 'internet nuffers'!

Possibly because he wanted to see how the 22 goes in that structure for an extended period of time?
We already know we can't make the 8 with this list, why not make it a fully-fledged development year where Hardwick taking notes and checking things on a laptop is perfectly fine. We are about developing the future this year, not winning games. This has been made completely obvious by Hardwick.

what more can a coach do than tell what his team needs to be done ? when The tigers just dont have the skill to pull of what is needed and WANTED by him and the loyal fans.... But even you can say we have inproved since the Blues and some players are starting to give us a taste of what is to come .... so all we can do is wait like we always have

Well tell me all you internet GENIUSES.
Why wouldnt you make changes and see what you have with the playing group.
Way too predictable are the tiges.
Wont win a game if they are going to dish this up every week
-
^^^ I agree we won't win like this ... BUT Hardwick could not have done more mate, we NEED players which we won't get until 2012 when this free agency comes in and we can flex a money muscle :thumbsup but for not we wait ... watch league the storms are kickin arse :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

I liked the fact that he was at ground level, seemed to be working overtime.
Richmond cant move forward with
Robin Nahas- to small and wasting our time
Jake King- to small and wasting our time
Shane Edwards- to small and wasting our time
Players like
Daniel Jackson should be dropped- just disgraceful today. Cant kick to save himself- get him out
Adam Thomson wont be in our next premiership side. I supported his recruitment, its now clear that it was the wrong move
Tom Hislop- I like his attack but hes not a footballer that can help you win a flag imho.
Kelvin Moore we have seen his best and thats about all - wont improve any further
There were some good points today ... but Hardwick would be putting a few lines through afew names right about now!
Ill go through afew more tomorrow
-
and to further add .
Players will learn nothing by playing EVERYONE behind the ball, as what happened for 20 minutes of the 3rd and last quarters.
Whats that teaching them ?????????????????????????????????? :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead

it was already answered - 3rd post master coach. Result is irrelevant, giving players an extended run in the same position whether they are being flogged or not will give the coach his data. No point moving them around and making the big moves this season duh.
Better to have them exposed for the frauds that they are without a shadow of a doubt rather than hide them when the going gets tough. Didn't these same players want Terry removed bc they kept being moved around and felt the didn't have a set game plan/positions they could get used to? They've been banging on about this super new game plan all summer saying how good it is to have defined roles, well now sink or swim smartar.ses

both are young inexperienced coaches they will both make mistakes but its important we stick by our coach, he gives the impression that he knows where he wants to go and how to get there, there will be mistakes, there will be hurdles and roadblocks, but If the club sticks together then maybe they can find a way through.

spot on DH needs to work out quick enough who's is in this for the long haul, already Im seeing players fall by the wayside in Nahas , Thomson and a couple mof others, I reckon Hislop was moved into a new posi to quite good effect...and agree that players need an extended run at it demonstrate one way or the other if they are up to it, we dont need to give them anywhere to hide

Im glad some can see the logic, its fantastic bo bc for mine there were a fair few players I could have gone either way on over the summer and several of them have been clearly exposed already instead of hiding them in different roles in which case I was often left with a "well he showed a little here and a bit over there", this way is brutal to endure but I'd be surprised if a few didn't already have a line going through their name :clapping

The result did not matter.
I actually thought the effort without the ball was good. We worked hard running back filling the space in front of Hall and our one percenters were there. Something we have not been accountable in.
Our problem lies when we do have the ball and that is because we turn it over and our decision making is poor. Something Dimma is working hard on.
Would rather watch the kids learn by being thrown in the deep end and asked to see how they cope with it rather than sensationalise everything and overreact to a 12 goal loss to the pre season premiership favourite. I would rather lose with kids by 12 goals and know there is an up side than lose by 12 goals with an experienced side and then say he needs to get rid of this this and that and we are nowhere. We are closer tonight to where we need to be with another game into the kids than where we were last game.
If someone told you the dogs were a 12 goal better side than us two weeks ago you wouldn't disagree. Why sensationalise it now and ask for the coaches head when clearly we are two years into a three year deal with the youngest list in the league.
-
I thought the bulldogs were off tonight I might add.. If it was Docklands, it would of been 20 goals
-
Did Melbourne play everyone behind the ball ??? NO
Question is, did Melbourne play their gameplan they've been learning from Bailey for the past 2 years, or did Bailey do a Wallace and throw it out the window and just told the Dees to play man-on-man.
The pressure we put on in the first half will be too much for some of the lower teams and we'll see more fruit for the players labour.
I saw good signs tonight.
-
I seen some good signs as well.
Thought Martin was excellent, Cotchin and Thursfield as well.
McGaune had a go.
Seen worrying signs as well.

correct!!
The players have been asked to sink or swim and some are siking fast. Well im glad because we have been carrying them for too long.
That doesnt bother me because those players will be offloaded come seasons end.
Il standby Hardwick all the way because i see what he is trying to do. Even by resisting the tempation to play Mclovin and Tuck says a lot about what he wants to achieve with this list.
Can he coach? Maybe he can maybe he cant time will tell but he is not after short term fixes like those losers Spud and Leatherskin and thats gotta be a good thing..
-
Ive been thinking all night about putting up a thread about Riewoldt. Hes not coming along as he should. There are some good forwards in the draft this year. Jack Darling and Sam Day just to mention 2, we also have Griffiths and Astbury to look at
Anyone consider giving Jack up for some decent compensation trade wise?
-

I don't need to watch the replay, I was closer to the game than you may think, I saw every player come & off through those interchange gates, and every positional change. I'm debating your opening statement, "ONLY positional change for the night was putting Simmonds are forward in the last 10 minutes of the game when he was completely SPENT", which is a reflection of your undertanding of the game.
I wish you stick to the topic and stop going round in circles.

I reckon the main reason these two can't get a game is because they can't stick to the gameplan.

He needs help Ramps. He is surrounded by the cast of Fantasy Island how could he be expected to kick all the goals
What do you expect him to do when the ball travels 5 metres above his head most times.
I think Post will come on but more importantly we need Astbury and Griffiths up there with him and then you will see a different Jack.

I write down at the start of each quarter the 6 D50 players on ballers and F 50.
Can tell you, NOTHING CHANGED

FOS!
Jack is doing good considering there is no one else down his end take pressure off! Postie was terrible early but will improve, it was his first game!
-
Jack misses to many shots for goal and thats a problem for a key forward
-
I think Post will come on but more importantly we need Astbury and Griffiths up there with him and then you will see a different Jack.
Quality post Daniel. Let's start with Post first. Came in tonight for his first game of the season and would of been blown away by the speed of the opposition, not only offensively but also defensively. Was crucified at times with the poor delivery too him and at times was thinking too much ahead which caused him to drop marks. 2-3 weeks in and he'll be up to speed with the tempo, where he plays will depend on our available structure because as you mentioned if Astbury & Griffiths come in the side Reiwoldt will have less pressure on him. Astbury may take a minimum of 4-6 weeks before he gets looked at (injured at the moment, Griffiths maybe the later half of the year depending how he comes up after injury. The idea by some people off-loading Jack is simply wrong.
-
Jack misses to many shots for goal and thats a problem for a key forward
Correct.
-
Jack misses to many shots for goal and thats a problem for a key forward
Agreed second quarter members stand side city end. Pulled it left. Same shot similar distance missed it left by the same margin 10 minutes later.
Like his effort but delivery into the area not conjucive for him. Even with Richo fit we would be struggling. Need Astbury and Griffiths in the side to develop.

Pretty well what Hardwick just said in the Press Conference along with mentioning Troy Taylor and Relton Roberts as those that will help the forward line in the future.

For starters i have to agree with you on this one Jack. Im just back from the game and even my son was commenting on the lack of rotations.
Even worse was the fundamental errors by some of the players, early last quater when there was a throw in dircetly beside the bulldogs goals we were watching in amazement as not 1 player was on the goal line, sure enough congested play a snap and a low goal goes through. not sure which quater but the ball was comming into the dogs forward line and Edwards (I NEVER want to see him play again. Id rather have McLovin on the team) had an easy mark if he didnt stop and look behind him to see if anyone was coming. Just to name a few really obvious errors.
Im not that worried about riewoldt as a player but the fwd structure semed lacking when all the fwds were playing behind the ball and had to run flat out down the ground when there was a turn over, it didnt give them time to setup a team stucture at all or even settle for the contest.
There seems to be a total lack of faith in their team mates ability to win th ball. That was THE biggest differance today. The dogs were spread out everywhere and simply waited for their team mates to get it then moved to advantage.
-
Jack Riewoldt must think he's really his cousin Nick or even Richo but he's not even close to either of them.
-
Jack misses to many shots for goal and thats a problem for a key forward
is it?
2 behinds tonight not exactly a big problem.
How many set shots did his cousin or Richo miss in his time.
We have bigger problems than Jack R. If he still performs like tonight with big men around him then yes i would look at getting rid of him but come on what chance do you have with Nahas and King next to you

Post has a major technical fault with his kicking ...the ball drop, which has too much hang time - needs to work on it with the development coaches.
Thought that he was a reasonable lead-up option but needs to fully focus on the ball, particularly when marking. However, at least he is prepared to mark with the duckes rather than just the chest.

I thought Hardwick was pretty clear at the start of the season that he's going back to basics and giving players a defined role in the team. Not only does it give each player strict guidelines of what they need to do, but those that can't do what they are assigned will be found out very quickly. I have no problem with that, how many times does Hardwick need to mention that this year is a "transformation" year? If our players are trying as hard as they can then I'll be happy no matter what this year.

I agree, at least they are putting up some fight compared to last year
I didn't like the lack of workrate in the Carlton game, no leading into space when we had the ball, but it appears to be getting better based on today.

im not looking at scores this yr stuff the score, its the attitude that counts
proud of the boys today, they had a dip and never dropped their heads, they tried
they will get better

Good call X....and I think that the coaching staff feel the same way ATM.
Its all about attitude.
-
Just shocked and blown away at the reactions in this thread.
Hardwick changes:
- Post was down back and up on the wing at times.
- Morton had a run on the ball and up the ground.
- Nahas was chipped and changed from middle to forward
- Riewoldt was seen down back for a preiod of time and had a spoil and tackle.
- Hislop got his hands on it in defensive half.
Nothing game changing but who on earth is going to play forward against Lake Morris and co? Hardwick has guts anyone who persists with King in the forward line has a heap of patience and good on him for putting his rep on the line to try new things.
Riewoldt. Wow. Lets just put the knives back in the drawers should we mention Richo's set shots. Jack is a lead up forward we can't rely on him to kick 7+ goals each week. Jono Brown and Nick Riewoldt doesn't do it every week. Fev has missed more than he's kicked this year. Riewoldt will be better than the likes of Cloke, Neagle etc. Although no1 is safe when it comes to upgrading at the trade table.
Post first game of the year and has he played more than 10 games? Let him play.
Just need to get our tall kids in the side, especially up forward.
-
We are a long way off. Someone wrote that we'd be lucky to win a game TY and I was horrified at that call. I am horrified to concede that I might be wrong to have been horrified.
I like Dusty, Cotch improved from last week, Thursty looks back to his 08 form, Newman was okay.
-
C'mon guys what are we waiting for, Hardwick has had two games to show what he has got, it's not as if he has half a team of hacks in the side.
Lets get behind Jackstar and start a movememnt to give Hardwick the boot.
-

It was kids versus veterans and we all have to realise that I guess.
I was pleased with the first 3 quarters.
Bulldogs were out for revenge on last weeks loss so I knew we were gonna get flogged.

Will say this. Nahas wont make it.
Plays scared.
His option to tap the ball in the ball in the first quarter and not grab it boarded on Auskick stuff.
Also Hardwick needs to do 2 things in upcoming weeks.
When we have a possesion, have structure to kick to, am sick and tired with having everyone behind the ball which happened last night , teaches the YOUNG KIDS NOTHING.- Wallace did this and its ugly football and teaches players zip
Watch Melbourne , the past 2 weeks game they have kept players inside F 50.
Footy isnt a hard game.
Secondly. the amount of tackles last night was pathetic. -43. :banghead :banghead
-
agree on nahas he wont make it, definate trade for a low pick probably around 50s at the end of the year imho.
-
We usually bag the players but here is a decent whack!
Jack, what part of Hardwick's pre-season message did you listen to? He is doing exactly what he said he would do - take the whole team back to square one, learn the simple defensive mindset needed to underpin his eventual gameplan, and then move forward in small steps as each one is learned - no deviation from that plan. And what are we seeing? Exactly that - gameplan kept to it's most simplistic, defence first, and no panic measures before during and after games. Breath of fresh air for our club to be not chasing rainbows and showing the patience to do the hard yards instead.
-
Just finished watching the replay on Foxtel.- AGAIN !
the entire last quater we played a 16 man defensive zone, with 2 players sitting in the centre square.
If thats teaching young players to play football, its a disgrace I am afraid.
Also Nahas kick to Connors where he broke his ribs should see Nahas down at Coburg for the next month.
You people are deluded.

No, its about a footy club going backwards who kicked 9 goals in Round 1, 7 goals in round 2. which the club say there in a ""transition stage ""
Yep, by playing everyone beyond the ball last night , transition stage my arse.
3AW today, the experts are worried about what will happen to our proud club.
They are saying we are the next Fitzroy
With the draft now compromised and with our list riddled with midgets.
Now Ox, how is your ego and profie ??????

Smokey Ol Fella
This is a professional sport as you well know. You improve players & set thier goals at the lower level. Get them to carry out their roles at that level & improve thier skill level, Confidence, & Strength. Most players these days are ready made coming through TAC or interstate Senior clubs. Sadly for us that level is the VFL Coburg side which has many AFL senior players who cant even beat Non Affiliated sides or even win thier set roles for the day. Players dont even wanna put in at that level or wanna be there.
Trying to do that at senior level is unprofessional & looks very ugly which of course we are seeing under every coach in the last 11 seasons even more.
Having kept senior players on the list & paying them huge money to play for Coburg & even the Coburg seconds is the most stupid thing l ever seen in football.
So having these players & playing skinny little lads that weigh below 78kgs & small in height when you have a player who is considered by the football people as in Richmond top 22 , Tuck who was one of our best performers last year is absolute craziness not playing him.
Tuck would solve our forward problem & can kick goals, has muscle & height, l just dont get it do you
-
No I was just listening to David King
Ahhh yes David King - who for some strange reason really did side step (massive steps actually) taking any responsibility for the state of the list and lack of skill of some blokes after his time at the club
I think one of his comments was something like "Richmond blokes just aren't just average kicks they are poor kicks"
-

No I was just listening to David King
And I was referring to your constant criticism of the club
You're doing the club no favours
We have to deal with where we are, not jump on the media bandwagon who would want nothing more than our demise.
They criticise us, you criticise us, in the end everyone critises and starts agreeing that we should be out of business
It would be nicer if people were more encouraging rather than sticking the boot in at every single opportunity
Like a list full of young kids you don't get stuck into them every mistake they make, you encourage
Or am I wrong?
-

Actually just at the minute FNM I reckon it isn't the kids letting us down it is senior blokes. Scary thing is our senior blokes apart from Newman, Simmonds & Moore are all under 24 years old
Struth we are young ;D
-
I truly believe this coaching tenure is make or break for the RFC. Hardwick & the club appear to be sticking to a process that no doubt is going to take time. I remember the back lash Ross Lyon copped in his first year, and he had a heap of talent at his disposal...
I am intrigued to see where we are at in 10 rounds time with hopefully the likes of Dea, Astbury, Griffiths & maybe even Taylor playing some footy alongside a match fit Cotchin, Deledio, Foley etc. I think thats when we get an insight into how far away we are.
When Coburg is full of players such as Nahas, Edwards, King, Hislop etc we should be in a better place.
I'm still not confident that we can extract ourselves out of this mire though.

We're so young it's scary and the media have a point about our demise
But I'd rather have an us versus them mentality than us with them
And I agree, the kids are having a go, but they're unsupported
Hence my criticism of Tambling. He still gets treated like he was new and he'll eventually come good.
He might have done a few nice things yesterday, although I missed them to be honest, but he has to do more and more consistently.
That's harsh, but it's what we expect from our leaders
-

I thought tambling was OK last night (brillant compared to last week ;D). Constantly put his body on the line while some others stood back and gave him little or no support. Needs to played of the HBF IMHO
But I undestand people's frustration with him.
they are so young and i feel so old :rollin

The way we're going we'll be in the ground before they make the finals again lol

Until these "kids" realise that its a privilege and not a right to get a game with us, we are going no where. Whether it be abiding by club rules even if youve had a "really good " first game, or getting a haircut and making it look like you want to have a red hot go, rather than prancing around on the "G" like a little boy on a big stage. Show no mercy Hardwick, if you believe they are capable of playing AFL football then the time for molly coddling is over. If they are not ready, they shouldnt be out there. The soft touch gets us the likes of Deledio and Tambling, who should by now be leading the way, instead, all they show is flashes of brilliance when they feel up to it.
I, like a hell of a lot of other supporters, am fed up. Give me a reason to go and watch them this year, show me changes, even subtle ones and I'll get keen again, till then, i'll take my knitting to the game.

Thats how many stuck.
Your having a dip trying to tackle players twice your size and twice as fast as you. The attempted tackles would have been the highest its been for some time

i want to see griffiths, astbury, taylor, roberts, dae, webberley, grimes, contin and gourdis in the side before we start writing up the demise of the club ... thats 9 players right there, even if only 3 or 4 of come good then we wont be in as bad a place as many are making out!

Although I dont want to see 16-18 players behind the ball like last night.
POINTLESS

Then please, go find somewhere else to peddle your pessimism. Just think what our league would be if other clubs/supporters were as stoic as you:
Bulldogs - 56 years since a flag - GONE.
Melbourne - 46 years since a flag - GONE.
St Kilda - 44 years since a flag - GONE.
Swans - 72 years between flags - GONE.
Geelong - 44 years between flags - GONE.
Collingwood - 32 years between flags - GONE.
Real support is not like water from a tap that you can turn on and off - it means backing your club through the good times and the bad. Well guess what, we are going through the bad, so harden up or go follow someone else.

Exactly my point Jack. Supporting a football club is full of ups and downs, and as a supporter you have to tick this box of acceptance if you want to be classified as one. Bob Skilton, one of the greatest ever players, triple Brownlow Medallist, played in one final in his career. Just imagine supporting his club!! It happens to many clubs and if you really want to SUPPORT your club then you need to suck it up when things aren't going as you want - actually, it's when things are at their lowest that your support is most needed and can do the most good. Peddling criticism and negativity are sure-fire methods of making things harder for the team you 'support'. Right now Richmond needs supporters more than any time in it's history - get on or go away.

We're talking about our club on an internet forum, isn't the dedication to the club implied??
If you follow the club blindly without being critical of decisions being made, does that mean you are a better supporter?
I think people underestimate the predicament we are in, given the direction of the AFL and what will occur in the next 5-10 years.

I think people underestimate the predicament we are in, given the direction of the AFL and what will occur in the next 5-10 years.
I think this sentence says it all.
People underestimate the mess we are in
You are full of poo
You deliberately put the down club after one game
No-one underestimates the predicament we're in except you
You're the one who wanted change, you got it and now you're screaming like a stuffing baby all over again
You can't get blood out of a stone
These are kids with the novice coach you wanted
You may not have picked him, but by jumping up and down for the last three years, together with your gutless mates, we got a new coach

I think people underestimate the predicament we are in, given the direction of the AFL and what will occur in the next 5-10 years.
I think this sentence says it all.
People underestimate the mess we are in
You are full of poo
You deliberately put the down club after one game
No-one underestimates the predicament we're in except you
You're the one who wanted change, you got it and now you're screaming like a effing baby all over again
You can't get blood out of a stone
These are kids with the novice coach you wanted
You may not have picked him, but by jumping up and down for the last three years, together with your gutless mates, we got a new coach
So you're stuck with him, Sunshine
Blame no-one but yourself if it isn't going to plan
Meanwhile we'll just keep on supporting (and not blindly Cranny ::)

great post

We're so young it's scary and the media have a point about our demise
But I'd rather have an us versus them mentality than us with them
And I agree, the kids are having a go, but they're unsupported
Hence my criticism of Tambling. He still gets treated like he was new and he'll eventually come good.
He might have done a few nice things yesterday, although I missed them to be honest, but he has to do more and more consistently.
That's harsh, but it's what we expect from our leaders
I thought tambling was OK last night (brillant compared to last week ;D). Constantly put his body on the line while some others stood back and gave him little or no support. Needs to played of the HBF IMHO
But I undestand people's frustration with him.
they are so young and i feel so old :rollin
i really have to ask what exactly you thought Tambling did to suggest he was okay and not pathetic which is what i think he was.
Who was okay? Newman, Cotch was good, Martin good also, Connors okay. The rest pathetic.
It baffles me how some still think he plays well when he doesnt. He is a down hill skier of the highest order.
Along with Edwards the biggest soft co.cks on our list. One handed attempts at tackling half hearted chases all Coburg stuff, where both of them need to spend some time in the coming months

This thread is a reflection of why we are stuffed as a club. A new coach in his 2nd game is being attacked even though he was handed the worst job in AFL footy with the worst list. What did people expect? Hardwick has made a good start, he got rid of 1/4 of the list and another 1/4 will get the arse come september and october. Thats where we are at!

And the kids are having a go but are just not up to it - YET!

Why I'm out of here for a month or two
I can't take the crap that's on this and other boards
The problem with supporters is they overestimate where we're at.
If they had have sat back and looked at the list - the seniors and the kids - there isn't much there
Instead, they put the highest of expectations on a very inexperienced group and expect miracles
You are all fodder for newspapers to continue their attacks on us
They won't let up on us until we let up on ourselves and accept where we're at
Self-destructing is not going to help
And disappointing that those that have an idea (Jack) don't use your good advice generally to help the club rather than what you're doing.
Go and offer your services and do something constructive for a change
I have no problem with your footy nous, and I think you know what you're talking about most times, but we won't have a club soon if we keep all this garbage up.
Round 2 FFS and this is where we're at :banghead

Spot on Ramps. It was boys against men yesterday and will be all year. I agree with Dimma that its got to be positive, but I agree with jack as well, I don't want to see 17 men behind the ball.
Best for all of us to take a holiday for two years.
-
Yep, Round 2 and we have 16-18 players playing behind the ball. :banghead
Teachers young players nothing !
Round 1= 9 goals
Round 2= 7 goals.
Good Luck !
As the club said, its not about winning a games but the structures in the place.
There aint any structures in place..
Nahas chasing kicks in D 50.
Riewoldt go for marks up on the wing.
Its not about how many rounds, but the method and way we play.

we have very little talent at our disposal jack, theres nothing we can do about it right now, only thing we can imho is wait for Griffiths and Astbury to get fit and take up kpf spots, wait for dae to take his place on a hbf and a webberley on the other hbf or in a pocket, wait for taylor to take a place in a forward pocket, and wait for grimes to taks a spot in defence, Id also like to see contin get a run at some stage, good size can take up a spot in the mids, also want to see Gourdis get a run maybe even at CHB. Anyway until we see more kids we wont know exactly where we are at!

daniel, as a very brief example (and you'll need to take off your biased blinkers or you will miss it) have a look at the first 10 minutes of the game. I think you will find tambling at the bottom of packs and defensively going very hard at all contests he was involved in. Actually think you will also find him getting hit in the head when he has his head over the ball which I thought these days was a reportable offence but I digrese. Just one example
As I said I thought he was OK not the worse and not the best

he is the biggest dissapointment on our list alongside Edwards.
No blinkers on here just saying it as i saw it.
tell me how many goals has Tambling kicked in his 100 odd game career. he doesnt do enough around the ground and for a midfielder doesnt break the lines.
can someone answer me one thing about Richie tambling. is he supposed to be quick???
every time i wantch him i watch a guy who looks slow and his always scared to take a risk
-
tell me how many goals has Tambling kicked in his 100 odd game career.
Going into this season after 95 games he had kicked 58 goals
And just as a comparison Griffen from the Dogs who was pick 3 before Tambling going into 2010 he'd played 97 games for 51 goals
-
WP i know this sounds really ufair on ritchie but as i said in a previous post what really grates with me is his willingnes to just be a follower or someone who sits on the sidelines of a game, rather than someone who is prepared to make things happen......maybe he cant make things happen ,maybe his lot in life is as is now

Personally, I would prefer to see him playing of the HB line like he did last year - that was where he played his best footy for us. And he did play good footy last year from about round 6 or so onwards and part of that involved taking the game on.

poor return from a poor player. thanks for those stats but FWIW i dont rate Griffiths in fact i rate Tambling higher
am i upset we drafted him. yes i am but it has become more than that now. he is actually a very average player who deserves some critisism like some of his friends out there. He has had enough chances to perform now he should be sent packing to Coburg.
1 goal for almost every 2nd game played is unnaceptable from a midfielder who allegedly has speed. He and Edwards look like the 2 most slowest players on our list constantly getting caught
-
As I said I thought he was OK not the worse and not the best
You are right, but it is still very frustrating.
I think you'll probably see the best and worst of Tambling looking at the game again. One minute he's winning the ball, evading one and two players and setting us up from HB, the next he's missing an open 30 metre target.
5 years on and he's just another good ordinary player who we must write off as a draft miss and as not having reached his early potential.
-
Should he just replace Nahas in a forward pocket, Naish was a high drat pick too, but he could kick forty metres!

was at the Melbourne game, they played great football & should have won
They dont have no super coaches & they performed thier skills well apart from some stray goal kicking :lol but they moved the ball like a AFL side should
Now they have alot of younsters with good skills better than our 4 to 6 year players. why
