I am confused :-\
Now I know there a lot of people on here that are not Tambling fans ;D
However, today Richie laid what couldn't only be described as the perfect tackle in the middle of the ground
I cannot remember who the Demon's bloke was but he had run about 15 metres, bounced the ball and Tambling ran him down from behind, didn't drive him into the ground and the OPSM representative flapped his arms and called "play on".
This was a perfect tackle and the player tackling was not rewarded. It isn't the first time it's happened this season but it is becoming a blight on the game IMHO :banghead
Why should blokes bother trying to tackle if they aren't going to be rewarded? Might as well just corral (sp?) the opposition
RIP the perfect tackle

I know the incident WP, should have been ball, by all interpretations of the law. On the other hand marrtin was tackled with no prior opportunity, but the tackle pinned one arm which meant it was physically impossible for him to attempt to get rid of it, yet he got pinned. :banghead
When your team is getting beaten, you just don't need to see the opposition get that sort of help.
-
It was Cameron Bruce that he tackled. Was pathetic umpiring.
-
many ppl dont notice tamblings work ethic and the things he does
dimma does thats what counts

RT was better today, but TBH he needed to be , still not finding enough of the pill, he was avg 23+ possies a game in 2009, he would be lucky to have thatb in 4 games this year :o

he was getting those possies playing behind the ball, he has a different role atm, as a defensive fwd, he is winning our tackle count by plenty, and doing alot better than what many perceive, no fwd pocket gets 30 toches
-
Not sure why people question his work ethic.
What he needs to do is start hitting the ball hard.
How often does he get the ball at half pace, which means he has to stop and prop to avoid the bloke confronting him?
Hit the ball running hard and you will run through the stationary tackler most of the time. He gives the impression that he is afraid to fail the way he plays sometimes.

I am unsure if it is the same incident but another Dee's player bounced the ball while being tackled and didnt regather the bounce. I was gobsmacked one of the fundamentals in footy out the window when the goose didn't award a free

I saw that crap umpire with the bulbous proboscis monkey nose who always dry dildo whips us. Needs hot grease thrown on him. He always seems miss frees for us but plucks dubious ones against us. See now I need blood pressure medication just thinking bout it....@!_&_(&R_(E&W E###(#((&%R%& idiot

Yep, he is being unfairly judged this year based on his different role. Same with Deledio - playing a different role and not getting noticed like he might normally. Doesn't mean their not doing exactly what the coach wants of them and that it won't pay off in spades when they get some help around them.

I think part of Tambling's problem is his size. He makes it to a lot of contests and attempts a hell of a lot more tackles than he actually makes but so often a player just runs through little richie because he doesn't have the bulk to stop even average sized players when coming straight on.
He is best when running someone down or laying a tackle before they get a run up. I don't know how much bulk you can put on a bloke after this many years in the system but surely there's room for improvement there. Having said that, love his work rate because at least he makes a lot of these contests and attempts the tackle. If that mind set rubs off on some of the bigger boys we might be able to put a lot more defensive pressure on teams.

Another week another perfect tackle not rewarded
This time Jackie Reiwoldt in the final qtr, great chase down and Mclaren just flaps his arms and says "play on"
And they wonder why we are confused
RIP the perfect tackle :'( :'( :'(
-
There were heaps of incidents today with frees not being paid to both sides when a perfect tackle was laid.
Play on was called. Very confusing.
The there was an incident in the last when a Hawks player in the centre of the ground got run down and took an eternity to get boot on ball again play on. No wonder the fans are confused and angry from all clubs. Mystifying decisions.
Yet there were also some extremes again for both sides when no prior opportunity had occurred and holding the ball was adjuducated.
-
Agree. There were a number of baffling holding the ball decisions/non-decisions today that must frustrate the players just as much as us supporters.

The Hawthorn player just a got boot to that ball.
As much it pains me to agree with McLaren it was the right call. :chuck :chuck

Can anybody explain what that "so-soft-I-can't-believe-it's-not-butter" 50m penalty and goal to Franklin in the 3rd qtr was for???

Edwards not coming back a metre on the mark according to the press.
-
that 50m was a horrendous decision. You could see in the replay Edwards look to umpire and move backwards as directed to do so. He was still moving backwards when the 50 was given. Somebody needs to check if that umpire had laid a bet on the game.
The holding the ball rule. :banghead Every time a pack forms you hold your breath. It seems everyone in the football world can see that players on top of the bloke with ball try to to stop it coming out, everyone except the umpires that is.
At one stage I think it was Rioli was tackling Tuck (I think) who did not have the ball. Newman had it and was been tackled by Franklin in the same pack yet the umpire paid a free kick against Tuck. It appears they are paying what they think is happening rather than what they see.
-
if andy d and his other fukwit mates want to clean up the game why dont they look at decisions like this instead of trying to stamp out plays from Campbell Brown and Mumford last week.
NFI those pricks have got.
That was pathetic that decision. How a game can nearly be decided on that is beyond me. stuffin Geesh that fat prick has NFI
