Gee, I can see everyone now hoping online at 9.00am ::)
-
pity it's an early start I have no hope of getting down there after golf sun morning 8)
-
BIGGEST UPSET OF THE CENTURY
Richmond beats the premiers, Bottom beats top, under dogs win, ...we almost did it last year ..
i can dream guys
-
We did in 1991 ??
Was the mothers day mascecar.
Des Ryan kicked 3 goals I reckon
-
yeah well this period reminds me of the early 90's...circa 93 to be precise
-
Well call me a masochist but in keeping a promise I made to a friend I lost at the start of 2009 that I'll go to every game - I have my tickets and will be heading down the highway in a fortnight
Fly out Sunday too for Freo. And yes I packed my construction hard hat for protection against the feral Freo supporters who have a tendency to spit and whack with flags ::)
-
gonna miss the freo game unfortunately, have afamily do on
but will be at the geelong gam,e siting in the geelong social club , gonna be fun ..... not!
unless a miracle happens lol
-
Lol @ how hard it has been in the past, got 4 seats today for 25 bux - The straight jackets were no extra charge.
Junior has been once for 1 win - so maybe! just maybe :pray
-
OH DEAR - And looking like on the rebound after a lesson from the cheats :help
-
The Cats on the rebound in round 6 just like in 2007. :help
They kicked 23 21 against Port at Kardinia Park on the rebound and barring torrential rain they will have at least 50 shots at goal. They could easily kick 30 -35 goals on Sunday depending on how accurate they are in front of the sticks. :help
Will be a 100+ point thumping. :help
I hope that they have two poor weeks in a row. :pray

Tigers won't shirk challenge
* AAP
* From: Herald Sun
* April 27, 2010
RICHMOND coach Damien Hardwick admits his youthful Tigers face a "bloody daunting" task in taking on Geelong on the rebound when the teams clash at Skilled Stadium on Sunday.
The Tigers slumped to their fifth consecutive loss on Sunday night when Fremantle overcame a 27-point deficit to win by 39 at Subiaco Oval.
Hardwick urged Richmond fans to remain patient while his young team gains experience, but declared it wouldn't shy away from the challenge of taking on Geelong.
"If you try to shut down Geelong who do you shut down? Ablett, Chapman, Bartel - you take your pick," Hardwick said. "It's too hard, they're such a quality side. We just want our blokes to play on them and see how they go.
"It's another learning process for our players. We don't run away from a challenge, we approach it head on.
"It is bloody daunting at the same time, don't get me wrong, but it's an exciting period for our club where we can put those players against the best in the competition.
"There's some real exciting times ahead for us, we've just got to be patient."

Bring lots of vaseline, but can anybody explain this to me....
WHY in rivalry round we play Geelong? I couldn't a fat rats arse about Geelong....we got nothing going with Geelong except in the past 25 years they have fairdinkum kebab raped us, nonetheless, we were just too crap to put up a resistance. Collingwood, we hate, and have a real rivalry with that goes back forever, Carlton we hate and have a rivalry with, Essendon including our punch up but Geelong...crickets... lol
-

how longs the promise last WP?
-
how longs the promise last WP?
As long as:
1/ I am physical able to get to games
2/ And can afford it; that is afford to fly around the country to get interstate
So I suppose you could say forever or until further notice :thumbsup
-
well i will be there
i have seen us play some good games at kardinia park, i think we will not be as easy to beat as some think
i just hope we can use our pace to run them of their feet
-
It will be a miracle if we win. Expect the worse hope for the best. Kadina Park is dump and has not been a happy hunting ground for us

i'll be there, on the northern terrace!
Went last year and the Northern Terrace was very raucous for the first two quarters but exploded in the third when we kicked 8 goals to that end. Other than the result was a memorable day.

Nice of the AFL to make Geelong our "rivals" in rivalry round. Apart from 1967 since when did we have a rivalry with the Cats ???.
-

its what happens when youve been poo for 30 years
-
I apologize for the poor English. Unfortunately I have many bad memories at that ground and not many good ones. Geelong have had the wood on us for a long time. No one can forget that thrashing they gave us in 1989.
-
It will be a miracle if we win. Expect the worse hope for the best. Kadina Park is dump and has not been a happy hunting ground for us
we played quite well there last year ::)
Yes we did. But we were denied any chance of a win by the whistle-blowing maggots pandering endlessly to the sleepy hollow ferals. And that scenario will never change. Why does the $#%**!! AFL send us down to that friggin' DUMP every year??
-
Its just BS, we have NO rivalry with Geelong. I don't give a fat rats whether we are going good bad or indifferent the concept is a failure. Geelong...wtf...what MORON in the AFL fixtured that as our rival, prick needs a bullet.
-
:P
GARY Ablett has set the scene for a ferocious Geelong performance after questioning the Cats' hunger in Monday's loss to Carlton.
The premiers will seek retribution against a winless Richmond, which looms as a sitting duck at Skilled Stadium on Sunday.

Need Will back in because our back line is going to be given one hell of a workout by Geelong.
-
No Scarlett for the pussies again.
Source: Bomber Thompson on SEN.
-
They've been a little nicer to us this week in the match preview.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY
Geelong might be in the unfamiliar situation of not being in the top four, but they're still a cracking team. The Tigers are looking better than they did early on, but they're still last on the AFL ladder.
PREDICTION
Geelong by 50 points

From BF:
Just a few pointers for those going to Geelong on Sunday
- if you decide not to use the car park, watch where you park, if you don't park correctly you WILL be booked, the council made a seven figure amount in parking fine revenue last year, beware of fire plugs (one metre) that's one of their favourites, they love booking non-locals because they won't bother coming all the way back to Geelong to contest the fine. So make sure you triple check where you have parked.
- avoid Melbourne Road on the return journey, repairs are being done on the railway bridge near the Ford factory and Melbourne bound traffic is reduced to two lanes at 40 kph. My suggestion is try using Ballarat Road (turn right just after the LaTrobe Tce bridge) to the ring road. Ballarat Rd is dual carraigeway right up to the ring road on-ramp.
- other useful imformation can be found in this thread
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=573958
-
just take the geelong ring rd and go all the way to the end and exit at waurn ponds/grovedale
from there Kardinia park is only 3 minutes away max!
-
Its just BS, we have NO rivalry with Geelong. I don't give a fat rats whether we are going good bad or indifferent the concept is a failure. Geelong...wtf...what MORON in the AFL fixtured that as our rival, prick needs a bullet.
Yeah it's pretty funny.
-
lol indifference round.
They scheduled us to Geelong as a reward for winning the GF last year. They see us as a high crowd drawing easy beat patsy.
-
I'm off - Wish all us suckers minimal pain :help :gotigers
-
Thanks Tim Lane for giving the Cats some extra motivation today :P
Pack smells blood in great Cat hunt

Great, Dwayne Russel will be commentating. ::)
-
I was really peeved off to be announced (in absentia) as the auskick coach of the under 6s here in Corowa because i would miss out on watching the footy but i think it may be a blessing in disguise!
-
Side as selected. AFL live stats has the correct team now.
-
SEN so confident we'll hardly kick a goal they are offering a prize for every goal we kick ::)
-
Poster to the Cats
Have we touched the ball yet :P
-
Lids steps over the line with the kick-in and Geelong get a goal from the ball-up and free kick :scream
0 - 7
-
We need you today Riewoldt.
Kick the bloody goal son. :thumbsup
EDIT: *sigh*
Cmon Richmond. Just a bit of scoreboard pressure would be nice.
-
First time forward. Lids nice pass to Jack on the lead. Point
1 - 7
-
Rewoldt Dud cant kick
-
Rewoldt cost us a goal from FF
-
Edwards did very well buttering up then but Jack couldn't hold the mark. Cats run it down the other end for a goal.
1 - 13
-
It would be nice if we got a free. Jacko held without the ball and no free.
Cats get another.
1 - 19
-
1st: 12:05 remaining Geelong 4-1-25 Richmond 0-1-1

Getting ugly.

-
Rewoldt threw the ball gives another free away :banghead l hate this player
-
Not long the way the game is going cranny lol. I've got visitors coming at 4pm.
We've got 8 Tigers with just one touch. Nason hasn't touched the ball at all.
1 - 32

Jack marks on the boundary. Point

Rich 0.2-2
Geel 7.2-44
-
1/4 time Geelong 7-2-44 lead Richmond 0-2-2 :banghead
-
Astbury will probably get bagged this week from the same olds. 2 of his 3 kicks have been shockers and lead to Cat goals.
All our high possession getters are in defence not surprisingly.
Tuck 11
Newy 9
Polo 9
McGaune 7
Lids 7
Cuz 7
Nahas has been a rare Tiger to be really proactive and take Geelong on breaking the lines.
Our forward line is non-existent. SEN saying our structure is wrong for Kardinia Park and oyr talls playing too deep. We need a lead-up CHF.
-
Monk give up your bondage pain fetish for Riewoldt.
He didn't throw it he got tackled and was dispossessed.. Get it right..
Lids really good off half back.
Tuck seriously struggiling.
Polo is OK but just takes for ever with decision making.
Astbury is presenting but made some errors.
Edwards is taking it on and doing ok.
Foley going alright in middle.
Just getting smashed everywhere.
-
I was really peeved off to be announced (in absentia) as the auskick coach of the under 6s here in Corowa because i would miss out on watching the footy but i think it may be a blessing in disguise!
honor your committments or give it to someone who will
-
Hardwick gave a big spray at qtr time.
-
Morton is really struggling IMO, there is something wrong there, I don't think he is even enjoying playing anymore.
GO TIGERS, show a bit, c'mon!!!!

l would want out also
Rewoldt scored l'm shocked

Yeah we kicked the first of the 2nd. Jack goal.
8 - 44
-
Its like watching the Harlem Globetrotters.

Incorrect he called it holding the ball.

Riewoldt goal 44 - 8
Duncan goal 50 - 8
Geelong are free everywhere.
ok Popelord your correct ok stuffwit
-
This is going off the rails.
Everyone expected it to be bad, but not this bad.
Everyone expected 2010 to be bad, but not this bad. :-[
Hardwick is a raw coach learning the trade, perhaps we should have looked at what Collingwood did with Buckley or what Port wanted to do and taken the risk that he might have taken the Kangas job.
-
Vickery is going very good IMO, Polo not good enough, not hard enough, this guy won't make it. Gee we are getting hammered, not a lot of confidence out there.
-
Worst RFC team of all time.
At least since I've been watching.
Seriously - even the roys were more competitive than these boys.
This is a shambles from top to bottom
-
Morton is really struggling IMO, there is something wrong there, I don't think he is even enjoying playing anymore.

Popelord l know more about inside Richmond than you know about TAC being the water boy
read back on last year l told the story on Morton before he even flew back home on the plane so suck cock
-
Winless team of kids vs one of the best. Bound to be a flogging. It could be worse. Ablett could be playing lol.
Astbury OOTF having a quick snap.
Geez I hate that exclusion rule. Happens 50 times a game every game and the umps pluck one out of the blue.
8 - 58

Deledio is soft & weak
-
Jackson puts a hospital ball on the top of Deledios head who gets crunched... :banghead

When u consider how harsh reality has hit the Hawks under Clarkson you have to give up hope on Hardwick(quoted as saying the Clarkson plan is what he's trying to implement )especially after seeing how out of their depth our whole coaching panel is.
Copping to a wholloping just to teach a team a gameplan that doesn't suit them
is as stupid as not trying ANYTHING.
poo coach man
Love how easily Geelong brush aside our pre-pubescent bodies.
-
We've got no big forwards to kick long to. Falling down at CHF. Newy goes the bomb from 55m because of it. Point.
9 - 58
-
Deledio is soft & weak
Did u just work that out?
Better late than never :thumbsup
-
Again another stuffed up forward foray (point) and the Cats hit on the way back.
10 - 64

Wow getting ugly, but we didn't expect anything else did we really.

I'd be trying to secure Leigh Matthews as a consultant to mentor Hardwick. Find the $$$$. We need to get harder at the contest and start winning the clearances. Simple game plan which the young blokes will understand. Persevering like this will ruin another generation of decent draft picks.
-
You idiot Monk you embarrass yourself week in week out.
-
Deledio is soft & weak
Did u just work that out?
Better late than never :thumbsup
No Ox l always known
-
Hello no protection for your teammate at a stoppage. Poor Cuz got crunched when he should never have been. That was Wallace's gameplan. 4 teammates peeling off waiting for an easy possies isolating Cuz :scream.
Another point to us and Cats hit again easily on the way back.
11 - 74
The final margin will depend on how long until Geelong gets bored and switches off after half-time.
-
You idiot Monk you embarrass yourself week in week out.
strike me down & tell me how Mr Football l read enough of your poo over time you know knowing about football
-
We've actually got it forward a few times this quarter. Jack out the back gets an easy goal at ground level.
17 - 74
-
strike me 3 kicks to gain 50 metres to turn it over
Harwick is teaching nothing down there
-
Geelong 12-7-79 lead Richmond 2-5-17
-
it's not even football,FFS!
-
strike me 3 kicks to gain 50 metres to turn it over

hes got no players or have forgotten what list Wallace left him?

Rich 0.2 2.5-17
Geel 7.2 13.7-85
Goals: Riewoldt 2
-
Geelong 13-7-85 lead Richmond 2-5-17 at Haltime
-
must defend hard to ensure Geelong doesnt kick the all time highest score in AFL history.
-
Wallace left enough to provide more than what we're seeing.
Hardwick doesn't now how to be creative.
For a supposed tuff nut he's not.
It's about the sentiment at Punt road and the alienation between Top end board and team/Coach.
-
strike me 3 kicks to gain 50 metres to turn it over

Mate that is basic football common sence for players to know not to overuse the ball
Kicking it long, quick while the forwards are free leading not giving opposition extra time to push back & push extra men back
-
Oh well, back to the drawing board, not even a wimper out of us, I am not even sure we can single any players out for performing that bad. IMHO Vickery is really the only shining light, the rest of them, well make your own minds up. As a side we really do not play well together do we, but I am sure it will come..... :pray
-
Frawley recons Hardwick is coaching great because he's making the kids play one on one.
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
One on one?
Is that why there are so many cats running loose.
If Frawley likes Hardwick then it's an ominous sign......
-

What's the highest score ever kicked? 36 goals by Geelong against the Bears?
It's men against boys.
We're 70 down already just on possessions as well.
Inside 50s: 21 - 31
Tackles: 28 - 39
Hitouts: 12 - 25
Lids 16
Polo 15
Tuck 15
Newy 13

McGuane 8
Rance 8

now brackets .... tell us what Wallace left besides a list which had 90% junk and 5% half decent footballers and a couple who would get games at good clubs. Hardwicks got nuffin to work with thats the reality of it!
-
His got plenty to work with but its the players who are not doing the hard work & are lazy
l was once told on here Deledio & Tambling were miles in front of Dale Thomas & Scott Pendlebury
Dale Thomas & Scott Pendlebury are hard workers who are damaging every week & consistant since coming to the AFL
-
Look what them players just done to McGuane because his passengers in Jackson watched him get crunched
-
Morton miss
18 - 92
-
I think I will be happy with a loss under 150 points.... :'(
-
U.S Navy vs boy scouts with pea shooters according to Dwayne Russell
-
Cats aren't taking the foot of the accelerator. Similar to the 157 point flogging. In fact I think they've put the foot down as we've tired.
-
only 1 on 1 football l se e is when the ball is bounced
-
only 1 on 1 football l se e is when the ball is bounced
We are playing 1-on-1. Just that our boys can't go with their direct opponent. Hardwick not protecting them or the scoreboard out there by putting everyone behind the ball. They're definitely gonna learn the hard painful way.
Yeah Jack got a goal. His 3rd, our 3rd. 17 hi-fis lol
25 - 117
-
Why cant that lad kick like that all the time.
That was a very hard kick with the swirling wind

For the oppurtunities Riewoldt has had this year he has done very well

Tucky has had 15 contested possessions. So he is trying out there.
Nason. Yeah two in a row ;D
31 - 117.

No left foot Foley
-
For the oppurtunities Riewoldt has had this year he has done very well

Apart from last week's shocker he's the only one kicking goals for us.
point to us. Foley I think.
32 - 117
-
I am TM he is the only forward in a crap side and is getting goals
-
now thats a strike from Corey on Nahas with severe force
l bet he will not get reported or if he does will get off. Remember this come tomorrow
-
I am TM he is the only forward in a crap side and is getting goals
His a FF for god sake its his job to get goals
How many easy goals has he missed & missed the lot completely
His not our future
-
Cats are lairising but still kicking goals. Pods off the ground as well.
3/4 time
Rich 0.2 2.5 4.9-33
Geel 7.2 13.7 19.10-124
Goals: Reiwoldt 3, Nason 1
-
Gary ablett snr wouldn't score goals in our current rfc side
-
Foley is doing well seeing he is really our only genuine rover, Astbury is going ok, Thursfield, Jack, Edwards, Nason and a couple of others or doing ok as well.
-
95 disposals behind Geelong.
Hitouts: 16 - 39
Tackles: 47 - 56
Tuck 28 (19 handballs)
Lids 24
Newy 18
Cuz 18
Polo 17
daylight the rest.
Joel Selwood has had 24 handballs :o
-
Gary ablett snr wouldn't score goals in our current rfc side
BS snr was a champion created his goals from nothing most of the time
was not lazy & players feared him
Seen him destoy our Richmond sides single handedly several times
-
I think I will be happy with a loss under 150 points.... :'(
Spoken like the true visionary you are.
-
Now thats a footballer in Ben Cousins
Gets kneed in the back goes down from pain
Springs up lays the tackle pulling the player down with a second effort
That should be shown for the next 10 years cause he was hurt
Every Tiger player needs to watch Ben Cousins
-
The Richmond Football club = The Richmond football chasers

Astbury has done a couple of nice things since he's gone back. Been composed.
Hardwick has been focussing on defence this year (not much today lol). Our forward line play is next on the list. It's non-existent. If Jack doesn't kick a goal no one does. Hopefully Griffs has a couple of good games at Coburg and we can start building our future forward line.

I think I will be happy with a loss under 150 points.... :'(
Spoken like the true visionary you are.
Another stupid comment from a stupid idiot.... expected no better.
-
Big payout today if the score stay that way ;D
-
Nice roving goal by Nason.
40 - 142
Can we get this under 100
-

Maybe Farmer is being wasted in the back line??

There is no way that can be overlooked by 3 umpires or the match review panel.
If it does l will fax the AFL asking why

them stats are worthless. 50% of them were unnecessary in close from Simmonds, Tuck, Deledio, Jackson, that was overuse. No damage stats

Actually TM, their first 2 goals today came from bad umpiring decisions. First one was the kick out from Deledio for overstepping - replay showed it wasn't. Second one was the chest mark to Riewoldt not paid - replay showed it only came out on contact with the ground and the maggot's revered CD states that a mark held until contact with the ground is a mark. They rush it back down the other end and goal - potentially a 12 point turnaround. It didn't make any difference in the big picture but these blokes are paid good money to adjudicate correctly - many of them are clearly not up to it.

Agree with that TM, we overused the ball badly today, worse than we had all year. I actually thought we panicked and went back to a lot of last year's crap when we were under pressure today and it should serve to point out how precise you need to be when you are under pressure from a top side.

Just got home
COMPLETE RUBBISH TODAY.
Even Wallace would produce competitive football at Geelong.

yeah but he had Richo, Bowden, Brown et al. Unfortunately Hardwick doesnt have similar players who could for the most part added experience and abit of stability, and even with these players we were extremely uncompetitive alot of matches.
-
who recruited Dea?
-
And hopefully we have seen the last of Rance, he is a spasticccc
-
who recruited Dea?
The recruiting department- probably francis jackson
-
who recruited Dea?
add to that. Who recruited Edwards, Polo, Rance etc etc. They are terrible. LMFAO at how their tackles are broken at ease.
Jackson gee whiz and some say he is one of our best because he "has a go". 13 handballs he can get fu.cked too.
Nason and Tuck show more fight than the rest of those useless hacks
for me the 2 biggest mistake Hardwick has made so far was the promotion of Polak ahead of someone else. What a waste.
What was he thinking?
To keep Francis Jackson who has brought rubbish to this club is beyond me. And i thought Miller was bad. :banghead :banghead
-
Dea ??? was he playing l never heard his name ;D
-
You know why Jackson gets cut & bruised every week ???
cause he dont have a football brain, cant kick, is slow in decision making which cause him to get whacked every week & squashed into the turf ;D
recruited for his Athletics which dont cut it in AFL football cause he has no other skills
-
Jackson one sided player. Always going to be exposed if he is our so called best player. Agree Tuck and Nason don't give up. Remember me of Tony Free in the old days.

im the first to put my hand up and say i wanted Tuck our of the side but after seeing what he puts out compared to other older players how can you possibly leave him out of the side. His efforts are second to none
re: jackson well its simple he must be traded. Would take a 3rd rounder. To label him a stopper is laughable.
His footskills no matter how much training he gets will not change. He is a trier and in this team we need more than that. Goodbye!!
-
Dea ??? was he playing l never heard his name ;D
Might as well play with 21 players
I have never seen a player so bad.
Rance is just as bad :banghead
-

Well its a pity that his team mates cant learn of him about having a dip !

Tuck has a very good attitude. He always puts in. The other senior players need to put their hands up. Agree with the comments that Jackson should be traded

All 3 or 4 of them
-
Regardless of their number they need to stand up. Set a positive example
-
Haven't said much, What can you say ???
I will say this! I know where we are at but that performance was just not good enough and totally unacceptable.
Cows started to show something last week so we better be switched on or they will not only beat us, they will humiliate us.
If we bring the Freo game, well we may just be in for our first of a potential hat trick.
You read it here first folks ........ Can't believe I just made that prediction after Sunday, but there you go! :gotigers
:gobdrop

That's funny CUB. Adelaide have certainly been playing like them of late.

Hardwick in his EOTT report called the side "schooboys":
"We looked like schoolboys out there in comparison to the bigger Geelong bodies, and, unfortunately, played accordingly.
It’s really important for the players to realise that, at times during a game, even when they’re getting beaten, as long as they do those non-negotiables well – put their head over the ball, tackle hard and don’t cough it up – we’ll accept that."
In our match-review meeting, ‘Axel’ Foley gave the example of Cameron Ling having a go at Paul Chapman for not taking a handball well enough, despite Geelong leading by more than 100 points at the time.
Our guys, right now, are obviously young and inexperienced, but they’re clearly not hard enough in what they demand of each other.
