David Mundy says Dockers won't take Richmond lightly
AAP From: Herald Sun April 20, 2010 4:20PM

FREMANTLE midfielder David Mundy is adamant the Dockers won't take struggling Richmond lightly at Subiaco Oval on Sunday.

The Tigers are winless after four rounds and sit last on the table with a miserable percentage of 50.8.

In contrast, the Dockers are flying high in fifth spot on the ladder despite a tight loss to St Kilda on Sunday.

Mundy said his team would continue playing the "Fremantle brand" of football and Richmond would be given the same respect as the Saints were afforded.

"I don't think much will change," Mundy said.

"We have our key focus areas that we try and do well in games.

"They will stay the same and it's about getting a consistent message to our players to play the way we want to play and it doesn't matter who we play.

"They've had a big turnover (in their list), a bit like us from last year and the year before.

"They'll be young and a desperate side and I'm sure they'll want to get a win under their belt.

"It's up to us ... to not let them get a win."

The Tigers are set to welcome back Ben Cousins, Dean Polo and Luke McGuane from club-imposed suspensions but skipper Chris Newman is still in some doubt after missing last week's loss to Melbourne with a hamstring complaint.

Mundy said the Dockers were satisfied with their performances over the past four rounds, when they defeated Adelaide, Essendon and Geelong before losing to the Saints.

"We came out of a pretty tough start to the year up so hopefully we can keep that momentum up," he said.

"It was definitely a focus to get a good start to the season.

"To get three wins out of those four games was encouraging."

Midfielder Rhys Palmer will come under strong consideration for selection almost a year after suffering a serious knee injury that required a full reconstruction.

The Dockers also announced today that small forward Hayden Ballantyne has signed a new two-year deal tying him to the club to the end of 2012.

Yeah I know what you are saying, the funny thing is though, we are usually in peoples faces because we are Richmond supporters and thats what we do, we are always confident of winning and coming good. But the Dockers supporters only want to brag about their club now... typical weak arses. I am starting to dispise them more than the Eagles lot and I never thought I would say that.

LOL since when have we been a bye for Dockers supporters?  They haven't had it that easy against us in the recent past.  Granted they look better this year...  but at least our jumpers don't look like some sort of clown outfit from medieval Florence or something.

And what pick would we have had to give up for that?

Similar to Seaby also?  pick 20-30 probably?

That means one of no Griffith or no Astbury.

I'm comfortable with our decision, especially since I believe Mundy was contracted and has not intention of leaving Freo.

Preview: Fremantle v Richmond

WHO WILL WIN AND WHY?
Fremantle is off to the best start in its history and Richmond hasn't won a game. Richmond's losing streak looks set to continue though as Fremantle are in white-hot form and as long as the players aren't too worn out after playing both last year's grand finalists in consecutive weeks, they should easily account for the Tigers.

PREDICTION:
Fremantle by 96 points.

96 points?
Ouch!

Last time I bet against us it was when Adelaide was in stunning form and smashing most teams by almost 100 points. So I put some money on for us to lose by over 59 points. We went on to win that game in the infamous "basketball crap" game, perhaps I should do the same this week.

I think its a thing were if they say this we get smashed cause we were expected to beat carlton last year and we lost and every game/ season we were aspose to win we lost ... so im waiting for Collingwood to say they will smash us and we smash them fro saying that ...  :thumbsup

I just can't believe we do this each week! How can we give up a lead like that so easily?

take it easy, they lifted their intensity and our young inexperienced boys couldn't handle it. Don't know why ppl get surprised by this?
True TM.

Young sides are inconsistent and can run out of juice . Can we recharge the batteries during half-time or will it be a repeat of last week is the question. For most of that 2nd quarter we dropped away although we picked up a again in time-on.

Our youngest guys have been quiet tonight - Astbury, Taylor and Dea. Not unexpected for first year players but only Martin from last year's draft has stepped up.

We need to reorganise our forward line. We kept falling down that quarter and couldn't score after kicking 6 in the first. Agree RR. Morton would be handy right now.

We really need to address the way the ball is being delivered inside 50, we are just butchering good well earned possession, we need to make the most of every opportunity.

I'm liking Lids off HB, leave him there the majority of the time

Foley is a gun, adds so muc to our midfield, giving us plenty of drive with Martin.

Vickery is doing exceptionally well under the circumstances, is defnitely takingsteps fwd this season.

Dea is much too raw for this level, he's had a taste, now time to go back to coburg

McGuane is getting monsered by Pav in the contest.

Nahas' best game of the season by far, this is what he should be aspiring to each week

Cotch needs to get into it more.

Collo- this kid makes me miss a beat eachtime he gets it, holds onto it FAR TOO LONG all the tme, needs to be quicker with his decison making but good that he's getting it.

Reiwoldt needs to do more, had a super game last week(minus the kicking) needsto lear to back it up!

history says no, we seem to be running out of juice bigtime which will happen wth our side who weren't really very fit in previous yrs.
1 positive for today has been our start, I will take aother positive if we fight it out hard this 3rd quarter. don't give lads!

We're playing rugby at the moment. Trying to get meterage along the boundary line.

Taylor wrong option going long inside 50 to Freo players. Turnover and Freo run it up the end for a goal.

40 - 51

we know how to make opposition debutants look good don't we.

Geez I hate our kick-ins.

We're out of juice. Resorting to old school footy of going long and high in hope. No run whatsoever. Giving away stupid undisciplined frees.

Why is Jack down in defence  ???. He can't play there.

We can't blame just one player when it's been 1.4 to 8.13 since quarter time. It's fortunate we had such a good first quarter otherwise this would far more ugly on the scoreboard than it is.

Good tackle Nahas. Taylor had to do better there.

1st qtr was really good.

Showed some great signs.

After that..
* Insert broken record whinging about our negatives*

No new complaints the same old fumbled and turned it over.

Thought Rance was superb. Great example of why you don't write of players who are under 20. Presented well had a crack and kicked truly. Still learning the game and will improve.

Foley good first up didn't look to be hindered.

Nahas was good early until copping a corky

Lids improving in qtr back role.

Martin was class in patches.

He has nothing to offer the Richmond football club.
Lazy & Pathetic  :banghead Lets his team-mates down & expects others to do his hard work.

Hardwick be a man & do whats best for the team
l will buy my memberships if you do cause l dont want Rewoldt at Richmond his PATHETIC  :banghead
l have seen weak players but to pull up short of contests is the weakest thing in football

Rewoldt is a weak little sissy

Ive been critical of Riewoldt for a long time. If we could get Jack Darling (or think he may fall through to 4) you could trade out Riewoldt and cover another problem in another area. A good onballer or ruckman.

If Damien Hardwick dont drop Jack Rewoldt next week & for the next month,  then Richmond football club aint going anywhere

TOTALLY AGREE.
What we will see this week is the following.
Is Hardwick a hard man or not ?
And if not, is Cameron helping picking the side each week, :banghead

Dea has to go, where on earth did we get him from, HE CANT PLAY

Of course he's going to struggle.  He is an 18 year-old playing his 2nd game of AFL footy.

He wasn't a disgrace for a young kid and he's learning what level AFL requires him to be.

That is correct as he was nervous as stuff for the second week in a row and failed to pick the right options.  Send him back to the VFL with clear instructions of what to work on and he'll continue to improve.  The kid can play, we just have to, for once, start developing these kids to transition from the junior level to the top level.

well you dont put them in the top level until they are proven in the lower level.
Otherwise we are going to have a team of McMahons & Rewoldts ( Gutless & Pathetic players)

No its not

we have players like Polo, Morton, Browne, King, Hislop, McMahon, who should be playing while this players are learning cause we aint going to win games with players who freeze up on there first games. Thats bs anyway cause most first gamers are so pumped with adrenelin they kick goals with thier 1st AFL kicks & have at least 1 top quarter but duds are duds the struggle to run onto the field properly  ;D

Jack Riewoldt needs a kick up the behind!

FHO!

Get a real footballer for him.

I'm sick of watching the ugly little bastard sh it himself when he kicks for goal and in general, shouting out crap to team mates at the kick in.

Geez I hate the bloke.

Put the turd in th magoos for 8 weeks until his balls drop and he stops thinking he's nicks cousin.

dog.

Edited for avoiding the swear filter

The Commentators sumed us up perfect tonight
Everything they said about us was spot on.
We waste energy chasing teams & this is why we crumble.
We have passengers who know everything about football. ( JACK REWOLDT ) Richmonds DUD

Im deadset convinced that Riewoldt should be traded at seasons end. We can replace him with kid from the national draft and hopefully pick up a ruckman or a decent on baller along the way as well.

First quarter was good.  Rest - it was like we thought we'd done enough.

Totally agree with comments re Riewoldt (although I wouldn't use some of those words but still it expresses the right sentiment).  Riewoldt must be dropped and not let back into the seniors until he gets his act and attitude together.  Like Ox, I hate it when Riewoldt misses goal and then shouts to all his team mates.  Hardwick should fine him for every goal he misses - should do that with the rest of the team.  Yeah I know Richo missed goals too but Riewoldt is no Richo and will never be.  Our forward line is the worst in the league.  Thought Rance, Nahas & Nason did well and Lids in defence.

Sure does - the shot of him in the rooms 1/2 time - Stupid tackle on the midget and basic demeanour during the game - A week at Coburg for mine.
