More experience for the cubs against the best :-\
Any others?
-
Totally agree. Hopefully this fuels the desire for success
-
the game finished before Geelong could kick 50 goals
-
just cause we are young dosent meen we should lose by frekin 108 points ... No excuse for hardwick .. Wallaces team did better last year :banghead

It didn't in 2007 with a lot better team than today's.

POSITIVES FROM THAT????? Oh Lord, it's like trying to pick a few kernels of corn out of a great steaming ocean of dog's faeces :banghead

nason keeps trying.

nason keeps trying.
and 2 goals off his non preferred

a positive will be how we bounce back next week

Also a golden lesson that some of his team mates could learn from - when you are streaming into goals and 60 mts out the next action must always be a kick, the longer the better. Take note Polo, Rance, Deledio, Collins, Simmonds (and I know there were more that escape me at the moment) - this is the time to kick, not handball to a team mate under pressure.

4 out of the 5 blokes you mentioned shouldnt be long term players at rfc and deledio being the 5th looks like he doesnt give a poo anymore.

Deledio will be the next Ottens mark my words
We be best to trade him

Just got home.
NO POSTIVES what so ever.
Lids being played out of position.
Hardwick HAS NO IDEA

Clutching at straws here but Geelong beat Port by 95 pts (and they are in the eight)
-
Deledio will be the next Ottens mark my words
We be best to trade him
then we might as well shut up shop TM.
Does anyone down there have an idea where to play him.
Actually does anyone down there have an idea where to play any of our players. Each player has played in about 3 plus positions in each game this year, except for Thursfield and Simmonds. What a joke :banghead :banghead

A suburban coach like Mick McGaune would have better idea.
RFC , big mistake with the coaching appointment

We should stop searching for positives from every week as perspective will show that players for the most relapse into poor form or habits.
A more telling question - what are the positives of weeks 1-6 this season
* Martin
* Nason
* Cotchin showing he is still on the path to becoming a gun
Seriously that is almost it. No semblance game plan. Players with skill are soft, hard players no skills. Still struggle with big bodied forwards. Our own forward structure lacking.
-
can't find positives out of today, poorest effort of theyear imo luckily cats were in cruise control

Not in the first half they weren't. They whacked our blokes more physically than they have been whacked so far this season.

yep they did indeed but geelong weren't "on" so to speak imo, they punished our poor skills with ease but didn't really go geelong berserk like the have in the past

Your right players are reverting back to what we have seen under Wallace
You cant play football against any side if you continue to hold up play
The Wayne Campbell type football does not work in todays football
axe Wayne Campbell. l bet some are surprised but so what, its a fact. There is a serious Ruck \ Midfield problem.
put Simmonds on the LTIL, pay him out & promote Gourdis.
Cant teach midfielders if they dont have a 100% ruckman
-
I don't know why your crapping on Simmonds from that game, just habit?
His stats are not bad for a Ruckman not only did nearly ALL of it against Ottens and Blake, he racked up a decent amount of disposals and his efficiency was 79%, he used his strength and body well and mixed it up in there in a lost cause so I cant for the life of me see where your pulling your criticism from, the poor bastard is pushing poo up hill. P.S. Ottens had bugger all disposals and only 44% efficiency but he did beat him for hit outs, Blake had 3 and only beat him by 4 for Hit outs. Vickery had 6 hit outs, 10 disposals but excellent efficiency @90%

you must be joking right?
10 extra hit outs means a lot didnt you watch the same game.
You can bet your hard earned that Ottens laid more tackles than the black belt fool also.
We need to try Browne, we just have to find someone else. because Graham and Simmo aint the answer

Owl dont make me start about Simmonds game.
How can you back him up the only time he showed strength was when he held the ball to his chest while old Pods grabbed him after Hawkins & then Hawkins got under his legs. What sort of Ruckman handballs to flat footed players 3 feet away. Rucking OMFG l seen him jump & he jumped past Ottens & missed everything hahaha

I thought Vickery was good, well better, likewise for Jack, Edwards went ok, drifted in and out of the game but he has really improved over the past 2 weeks. Other than that it was a pretty ordinary display.

Mate, I should of applied
At least we would of been competitive
We cant even get the ball inside F50
Club needs to make bold decisions, otherwise we wont have a club in 12 months
-
Sorry to say this but today i saw no positives.
other than i respect my fellow tigers who bothered to drive down geelong road and stand behind the goals along with the western district farmers
-
simmonds a black belt lol, he may have a black belt but so what in tae kwon do lol
he could not hurt a fly, he is pathetic, was crap today and has no presence on the ground
ben cousins all of a sudden has caught the punt rd bug and has lost his polish
no positives today except for newman, and polo
nason im sorry to say has bluffed many, sure he looks good when he has the ball, but his work of the ball was pitiful and disgraceful. too scared to even tackle and put pressure on and never near his opponent
the only positive that also may have come from today is dimma may finally realise that his game plan and blue print is a joke
-

Yep, I went , seen no positives what so ever.
Should of lost by 30 goals if Geelong were fair dinkum
-
Sounds like a positive for me was that I didn't see any of it. :lol
I was busy today.
I never used to be too busy for the Tigers.....

And players walking down the ground.

yep I said it in another post and i'll say it again, this was by far our worst performance of the year for mine, took nothing from that and if Geelong had of been on then we would've lost by 200. If Hardwick doesn't flog them for that pitiful effort this week, he runs the rsk of running down the same path as his predecessors ie those selfish imposters will think they can get away with pretend efforts again.
I accept losses due to lack of skill/gameplan but as a paying supporter I refuse to cop that sortof effort and non-commitment anymore, better do someting about it dimma, go hard or go home tiges.
-
No effort today
Apart from Reiwoldts 15 hi fives everytime he kicks a goal :chuck
-
Tuck was a positive today, he got 38 disposals today, 21 contested possies, 6 marks and his efficiency was 76%. Definitely turned up, to play.

Would agree, although its a team game.
He has 21 team mates who just didnt put in.
Rance and Dea are totally useless. Might as well play with 20 players

Sometimes with Tuck I feel because his disposal is suspect the opposition doesn't seem to worry too much about a tag as he usually gives it back and therein lies the problem with some of our ball winners.
Lids had about 30 today as well and he had no impact either whereas others have less stats and really hurt you. That for me is the most worrying aspect for me that when your most prolific ball winners on the day share 70 possessions but do not hurt the opposition. Seems a bit wasted to me unfortunantely. We just have to suck it up and persevere with the kids and Dimma as that is the only remedy at this stage.

Blind man Freddy knows that Lids should be used in the corridor.
Instead we play him off half back :banghead
There lies a huge problem

Sometimes even in the midfield I find Lids does not have an impact in his stats until after the pace and sting in the game has gone out. I feel that therein lies the problem with him and not the coach. He has played over 100 games and he has yet to grab a game by the scruff of the neck and shake it violently put it in a deathroll and then drown it and he is supposed to be our leader and match winner. To me therein lies the problem not where he is playing as he has been tried up forward in the middle and off half back and he has yet to deliver an imprint of any substance.
-
For what is worth.
The Captain played one of his rare good games
-
Agree with owl about Tuck. Also accept what Tuckerbag is saying. Agree that our possessions need to hurt the other side. The problem is that we play most of the game in our defensive half. Jack kicking three goals deserves some credit

one of the smartest posts ive read. :thumbsup
i can handle the fact we are playing youth, i can handle the fact Dimma is in his first year. no issues there.
what i cant handle is half hearted attempts at tackling & shepherding and Dimma better do something about i as you said he will end up soft coaches like the other 2 hacks before him. He came with a reputation on playing hard ball things like if you cant kick you wont play well???
Daniel Jackson 6 clangers among 15 possy's yet how that justifies selection astounds me. Simmons my dear god retire him now. If we can dump Gaspar mid year i cant understand why we cant dump Simmo.
We need promote Gourdis or search long and hard to find our own Barlow or Pods.

sorry Tucker i dont agree.
He cant do it on his own you know, much like Jack R in our forward 50.
What i cant understand is everyone is quick to jump on Lids because he is not the "match winner" we all want him to be.
He is thrown around from the tanned one and now Dimma in all different positions so it must have some sort of effect. It cant go on he needs 1 position!!!
What baffles me most is everyone is quick to bash Lids but no not Tambling he does everything right.
-
Only positives for mine was the Captain's game - very good, Polo's game - he got thrown around but seemed to the be only really prepared to go with Stevie J and Edwards - thought he was Ok to good
Was disappointed early on with Tuck - probably stuck with most of the day, hence why i've marked him as average. When he was thrown on Chapman gave him far too much freedom IMH
The only other positive I didn't get abused by any of the ferals down there. ;D
-
I'm sure you'll get a double dose at AAMI next week to make up for it.
Frankston only bigger. :D (the most serial killers per head of population in the world)

Tuck was a positive today, he got 38 disposals today, 21 contested possies, 6 marks and his efficiency was 76%. Definitely turned up, to play.
To me therein lies the problem not where he is playing as he has been tried up forward in the middle and off half back and he has yet to deliver an imprint of any substance.
sorry Tucker i dont agree.
That's cool Daniel I can see your point but regardless of where he plays and for how long because during his career he has had ample time over a 6-8 wk period to take a game by the scruff of the neck and make that position his own but he hasn't and even though he gets 25-30 possies most weeks they don't hurt the opposition. Furthermore he is in his 6th season and with the season we are enduring it is a fine time for him to stand up and show some real leadership.
As for Tambling is you go through my posts you'll find I am very critical of him. Comparing Lids and Tambling , Lids is streets ahead now and alas always will be.

I'm sure you'll get a double dose at AAMI next week to make up for it.
Frankston only bigger. :D (the most serial killers per head of population in the world)
Have to say Crows supporters aren't too bad out of the interstaters
Without doubt the most disgustuing & feral bunch on the road is the Dockers supporters. It just isn't safe at Sub at a Dockers game ;D

I went along and here's a couple of positives I noticed.
firstly the golden moment of the game was when Ottens first got the ball and he was roundly booed by the Tiger cheer squad down the Colac end.
Later he fluffed a mark and some wag behind me yelled out, 'That's why we got rid of you Ottens!!'
Nason was really good. I thought Nahas had a dip and I was pleased with Polo's efforts. Tucky was OK and proved some of his doubters wrong.
I know we got flogged but I did notice a few times that Geelong struggled to get through our zone. It didn't work often of course, but when they got it right it seemed to do the job. The plan of handball, handball, handball through the back half and the centre was clearly obvious at last. It isn't working yet cos we don't have the talent but you could see them trying to do it.
Oh, and I managed to knock this bloke in the side accidentally and he spilt his beer down the jacket of his mate, but they were tigers and we all took it in good spirit.
Had a ripper Villis chicken pie too.
