Uncle Andy D is thinking of us as far as extending the season to 24 rounds :P
The AFL was grappling with whether to have a final eight or nine, whether to have 22, 23 or 24 rounds, whether to expand the finals series, and whether to introduce a conference system.
"This is a very critical question because the 16-team competition with 22 rounds has been an amazing success," the AFL boss said at a business lunch in Melbourne on Wednesday.
"We want to make sure we get the 18-team bit right because if the season's too long it's going to disenfranchise a lot of people.
"You'd hate to be a supporter of a club - Richmond - and you've lost the first 12 games and you've still got another 12 to go.
"Getting that part right is going to be a real challenge."

tbh owl thats a pretty unnecessary post, you may not like the cypriot but no one deserves caustic soda- i know you only said it in jest but it really is unnecessary. its not his fault by the way that we are a rabble, its 99% of our own making to be honest.

And it was extremely unprofessional of Demetriou to mention any club in his statement. The fact it's us is irrelevant - in his position he is charged with ensuring our code is as successful, strong and popular across our nation as it can be, no place for public favoritism or bias. He didn't have to mention any club here, his point would have been just as relevant. Disgraceful by him actually and completely at odds with his charter as CEO. >:(

Good on you Dimwitrio, another clown having a cheap shot at us when the chips are down. There is that many of them now they may as well start a circus and go on tour.
