Title: Hardwick on 'On the Couch' tonight
Post by: one-eyed on May 31, 2010, 06:33:02 PM
According to BF, Damien Hardwick will be on 'On the Couch' tonight on Foxtel to talk about Richmond's first win on Saturday.

If someone can give those of us without Foxtel a brief rundown of what Dimma says it will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance  :).

On the Couch with Dimma-
Very confident Dusty will stay
Morton has a few things to work on, is in our best 22 and part of the future
Simmo deserves a fairwell game as he has done alot for player development as well as on field
Hard to say he loves a man on tv but he nearly could when describing ben cousins!
Jordy has a few a things to work on- reading between the lines, or lack of them, his cards are marked
Rapt to see the faces on the players walking off the ground
What does Richmond need to work on the most? from Mike Answer from Dimma, " Coaching."
Richo leaving has helped Jack develop quicker as it has forced him to become the number one forward.

No, nor the one about Jordy either!
Oh and Dimma said he models his coaching on Clarkson by being meticulous and taking ideas from other sports. He believes Clarkson taught him how to think outside the square!

On Cuz' future - will be determined at the end of the season. But apart from saying he loves Benny  ;D Said Ben is a great person to have around our footy club and a great role model on and off the field

Agree with GR12 about Jordie. Said Jordie has been given things to work on and now the ball is firmly in Jordie's court but did mention he played well on the weekend at Coburg

Actually compared Jordie to Tucky, said Tuck was made aware of his deficiencies (defense side to his game) and to Tucky's credit he has gone back worked on them and is now back in the team. Described Tucky as a "resilient bugger" and close to BOG on Saturday

A couple of other things:
When asked what kind of players we'd be looking to recruit, he said outside mids because of the pace of the game. He'd already given our inside mids a huge rap.
Gerard asked him if he'd changed his mind on Tuck through the course of the season as it looked like his papers were stamped. He suggested they never were, he'd just been told very early in the season to go back and work on his defensive aspects. Same as McMahon. He did say that McMahon played a better game last weekend.
On Simmonds, he said that he'd been working with Jayden Post on his weights training. Just stuff like that makes him a great club man, loved around the place, and deserves a farewell game.
Hird asked him where we want to be in terms of success in 3 years time. He acknowledged that was a tough question that caught him off guard. But then he said that he was just looking to get 50-60 games into all our under 22 year olds.

I must say i thought McMahons general attitude towards his footy was the best i have seen on Saturday for the season so far.

I think Tuck might get another contract just quietly, certainly at this stage of the season he'd have to be on the positive side of things rather than the negative. However there is still 12 weeks left for younger development and time for Tucky to do himself in so to speak. Goodluck Tuck

Before Dimma came on, they were talking about Podsiadly being possibly short-listed for the All-Australian side, and they flashed up a slide of some of the tall forwards under consideration.
The name J.Riewoldt was on the list, but I doubt many Tiger fans would have noticed it, as the guy who put the slide together had obviously just seen the name "Riewoldt" and automatically put a St. Kilda symbol next to the name.

Nah not so RR, it was definitely a Tiger logo. Listed that Jackie R had taken (IIRC) 26 contested marks in his 10 games so far this season.
