League set to place cap on interchange next season

THE AFL now looks certain to place a cap on interchange rotations from 2011 and has not ruled out introducing player substitutions next season in a bid to prevent clubs from further exploiting the interchange rule.

Well the new rule shouldn't effect us too much then. I like the idea of having a substitution. Allows for a team to take in utility type player or additional midfielder to swap with a player during the game. I'm hoping the AFL don't try and make it that only an injuried player could be swapped as this would be open for abuse by club doctors and officials.
