The AFL site is tipping Adelaide ....
QUESTION MARKS
Can the Tigers re-light the fire? The Jack Riewoldt-led recovery had the Tiger Army dreaming of better days - was it a false dawn?
Can Adelaide deal with expectation? The Crows played well when the season seemed lost, but crumbled just when finals started to come back into the picture.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY?
Neither team showed much last week, so it will be down to who can get back on the horse the quickest. Graham Johncock is a big loss for Adelaide who will also be missing Andrew McLeod and, most likely, skipper Simon Goodwin. The start will be vital and you fancy if the Tiges can bounce out of the blocks they’ll go on with it, but the Crows get the nod on the proviso last week was a blip on the radar and not the start of a trend.
PREDICTION:
Adelaide by 11 points.

No Edwards McLeod Johncock and Goodwin will help our chances but Adelaide love to play us and if we can't control the midfield and Tippett we will be in severe trouble. Would love to beat the crows hate them with a passion
-
I just want to see a return to competitive football.
There is still a massive gulf between our best and worst football.

Dimma on the game this week.....
The Tigers host Adelaide at the MCG on Sunday.
“They’re a very well-structured side, they play a disciplined brand of footy and it will be a really good test for our guys come Sunday,” the coach said.
“The main thing we’re looking forward to is challenging ourselves against another side who, at the bottom end of the ladder, is a very good side and could quite possibly play finals footy. It will be a great test for our guys.”
Heavy losses to North Melbourne and Collingwood in the past fortnight have burst Richmond’s bubble somewhat, but Hardwick felt some correctable errors from his young side had contributed to both losses.
Those defeats extinguished Richmond’s faint finals chances, but Hardwick will be looking at his team very closely in the remaining weeks of the season.
“We think it would be disappointing if we went back into our shells and played the way we did at the start of the year so that’s been a real driving force of ours,” he said.
“We’ve had our form ladder from round nine onwards and I think we’re on an even ledger at the moment so we just really want to keep our heads above water on that.
“It’s a real character builder for them to see how they finish off the year. We’ll keep putting our processes in place and hopefully get the desired results over the next four or five weeks.”

Good luck to Hicks in his debut (Cheers Danog)
-
Only 13 pts behind....feels like 10 goals

GRRR! Turn overs, little bodies, dumb decisions, rucks, umpires, Jack trying to take spekkies, etc! This will get ugly today!
-
Teams have worked out - stop Jack and stop Richmond... It is like Richo all over again, a combination of no other real presence up there and midfielders just bombing it to him
Amazing that the Coleman medalist could possibly come from the team that has the lowest number of points scored and that alone shows the unbalance down there at the minute
-
If it is out of King and White, I take King.
-
Can anyone remember a more inept display at kicking for goal...good on ya crows.
Cant believe we are now in front as there were times I wanted to gouge my eyes out.
-
The win would have to be in the bag now with Jack's goal
-
That last quarter was brilliant.
-
This is not, before the argument even begins, a meaningless win! None have been this year!
-
10.6 goals to 4.3 in the second half.
All our wins against interstate teams this year.

:lol

BrownE was good today!
-
Victory over the scum in rd 20 will finish this year off nicely. :thumbsup :gotigers
-
What a great win!! Damn Thursty kicking that last point as I tipped the tigers to win by 19!! :banghead
But hey the win somewhat softens the blow. :thumbsup
So good to see this season that in most of our wins we have come from behind with some excellent fightbacks.
Lids was outstanding in the second half and king had a brilliant first half. I'm glad we gave Brownie another crack as he shows a lot of promise.
-
interesting fact - all 6 wins this year have been against inter-state teams, and Adelaide is now the last of the inter-state teams we've beaten this year.
-
Bugger does that mean we can't get rid of Browne now
-
Bugger does that mean we can't get rid of Browne now
Yup! :lol
-
On todays form you would have to consider giving Ben Cousins one more year.
25 disposals today.
-
Disposal by foot was pretty bad on the occasions he did kick it
Plenty of ineffective kicks that resulted in turnovers, don't know what was up field though
-
glad to be home in front of the heater thawing, 4 seasons in a day,
Good win :gotigers
-
why didnt Phil Davis from Adelaide play today? great young player Davis IMHO.
-
Terrible 1st half! We had no idea how to tackle the crows and their game plan, ohh did I mention the umpys? Let's not go there! They want respect! they will never, ever get it from me.
We started to play a bit of play on footy which got us home in the end.
I know no one will watch but have a look at the leniancy the skunks get in their games, we never, fken never get it. If anyone was there or cares "depending on what they show"! Watch Martin getting tagged to the sh|thouse and given absolutely nothing. Crows are still a good seasoned outfit and was a good win by the boys.
F this tanking poo, rubbish supporters.
Dees will probs get us next week and maybe port only win to go, season success from what I expected.
NB: Tankers, lets see how pick 4 v 5, 5 v 6, 6 v 7 go honestly what a load of crap .....

Idiot.
We changed at half-time from a zone to playing man on man.
Dimma is well aware that we need to lean how to play a zone.
:wallywink

we simply won the "HAIL" ball.

Wasn't McMahon, both have played for Richmond this year

as much as im pro tank was a good gutsy win today and to beat those pricks who have the wood on us was nice.
Lids and Martin to quote Sandy Roberts WHAT MORE CAN YOU SAY!!! So good seeing Midfielders kicking goals as well.
They are unbelievable to watch these 2. So far ahead of the next best midfielder we have its not funny, Cotch included.
Sorry Ramps but King is playing beautifully at the minute. Who knows if he simply playing for his contract but honestly he is ao far ahead of Nason and Nahas, its not funny. His kicking has improved. How long will it last who knows??

NA , good game today.
You can play with stats all you like but as you would be aware they are they are not what the game is judged on .One of the main reasons the tigers won today is because of cuz , particularly because of his work rate in the first half.
GO TIGES
-
I know the strong swirly conditions made disposal tough but you could tell it was a game between two bottom sides. That second quarter was deplorable. Back to watching how we played under Plough - no pressure, tackling and accountability when Adelaide had the ball and us having too many player behind the ball over-handballing sideways and backwards when we had it :P. Not to mention not being able to get the ball outside defensive 50 from the kick-in :scream. The Crows really should have been 7 goals up and game over after 13 straight scoring shots. I had Crow supporters around me and they were doing their nut in with every miss lol.
Second half was a complete turnaround. We dominated with more direct play and had the Crows continually under pressure. Sure we changed from a zone to man-on-man but I would say Dimma gave them a rocket at half-time about a 3rd straight game that lacked intensity. Our leaders stood up in the second half and we pleasantly punished Adelaide for letting us off the hook in the second quarter.

Wouldnt bother discussing with Infamy, he doesnt go to games. ::)
Cuz was great yesterday, especially in close with the handball releases.
-
Just to let Infamy know, Cousins got our best in most media outlets
-
A fighting win against our side that has had the wood on us. Good to see Hicks make his debut.

Ok Jack since when does the non abilty to atend games take away the right to have an opinion of players, tactics and anything else re football. I have been to plenty of games over my life and there is much you cant see from being there that you can on TV and visa versa. The argruement that your opinion is somehow better becasue you are there is not only untrue its one of the reasons you get so much stuff.
Good Win Tigers, and to use a Jakcstar favorite, Hicks rode a winner in the First at Melb yesterday.
-

Where did I say he wasn't in the bests?
I just said that his kicking (on the rare occasions he did kick it) often ended up as turnovers.
I've been very positive on Cousin's form lately and want him to stay on next year, however I am objective enough to add critisism where its warranted. Just because I didn't go to the game doesn't mean I have nothing to add and doesn't make my opinion invalid.
Perhaps you should try proving me wrong with facts and evidence, that will shut me up. Problem is you can't.
-
I gave Cuz b.o.g. because his give and goes at contests and handball releases got us going but I remember him kicking long at least twice to no one so he's not perfect.
He wasn't the only one mind you. There were a few too many lazy blind kicks by us yesterday including the worse ones where the kick is lazily and panickingly around the body without even looking a la Nick Daffy style :scream.
-
Cousins was clearly our B.O.G. was all over the ground, kicked a nice goal Ponsford end & was the man who repelled it out of the backline with his damaging handballs. Personal opinion it was not one of the best games from Richmond & Adelaide missed some simple getable goals
l counted 3 OOTF at the Richmond end. Was dissapointed with the crowd.
-
Cousins was certainly in our top 3 - I thought it hard to split him, Tuck and Deledio for best, with Newman very good also.
-
would rather we keep cousins for one more year than one or two of the others who seem to have won new contracts
-

Can I ask one ? - Were you there
-
There were just four members of that 2006 victorious Tiger team, who played in last Sunday’s success against Adelaide - captain Chris Newman, Brett Deledio, Shane Tuck and Daniel Jackson.
http://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/6301/newsid/99505/default.aspx
Shows how much the list has changed in just 4 years
-
That is amazing! Lids is only 23 and Jackson 24 too but both are some of our most senior players. :o
