Title: 19,181
Post by: mightytiges on August 01, 2010, 07:37:33 PM
I know the weather forecast before the game was the rain, wind and hail we got in the last quarter but that's one poor crowd by Richmond's standards. The Club would've lost money today as the MCC were expecting 30,000 :(.

These are the kind of home games we need to play in Tassie.

At least we'd break even.

Hahahaha...log dwellers? i like it. I was there, hardly noticed the hail because the game was so exciting then, it all adds up to the whole melbourne/winter/footy experience! (and makes you appreciate getting home to your warm house even more) :gotigers

I was there but seriously , don't underestimate the foul weather forecast, I ruled myself out when washed out at golf but was talked into it when the weather cleared late morning, not everyone is as crazy as I though :P

Thought we were guaranteed $100,000 per game at the G under our new deal so it shouldn't matter.

I went today as well.

Maybe a few Tiger supporters have put the cue in the rack for 2010 with one more home game after today to go. It's against Port as well so we won't get a decent crowd to that one either  :-\.

FACT  :rollin

Actually it was a shocking effort by Tiger fans today

And we wonder why we get very little FTA coverage and get dished up these crappy games that start at 1.10pm

pussys like Gordon and WA tiger would've got scared away from the G when they saw possible hail forecast.

The highlight of the day was standing next to unleash the geesch as the half time siren went near the players race and telling him what i thought of the umpring. Those green maggots deserved every spray that went their way today. What a joke.

Crowds like this only encourage the AFL to give us more crappy Sunday games against interstate clubs. Not to mention more home games at Etihad plus trips down to Kardinia Park and alike. Fair enough if people are working or sick but it's just not a case of people not being able to make it each and every week when only half our membership turns up  :P. The MCC were expecting 30k and we did get 30k against the Eagles at the 'G who would attract a similar crowd to the Crows normally.

And just on theweather - it is a winter sport for crying out loud. It was at the MCG and there is plenty of undercover seating

Poor effort by Tiger fans yesterday IMO

Ease up x! I don't think MT is having a go at you; or those that work, go to weddings, live interstate and the like! I think he is having a go at those who just couldn't be bothered turning up!

supporters are generally pretty good at tigerland. I'd imagine WP that parents with young kids may have chosen to stay at home.
If you want to bag things that don't deliver at Tigerland the supporters would be a long way down the list.

Yep I go to our home games as I only have a 11-game membership. Sure it's impossible at times to get to games and work, sickness, weddings/funerals, finances, etc are of course perfectly valid reasons for not being able to go. But those reasons are there every week and don't cause half our membership to not show up at once. We've had 1pm starts before and still got a decent crowd. Not going because it might be cold and wet or because we've been flogged the past 2 weeks and have key players out or because we're not playing a big 4 club is a bit soft. I fear what our round 22 crowd will be against Port  :help. Hopefully being the last chance to see live footy for six months will help boost the crowd.

ps. did you have a hidden radio and earpiece in your suit pocket at the wedding X?

Priest: If anyone has any objections as to why Dusty Rose and Antony should not be married speak now or foreverr hold your peace?
