Get over it, it is done now.

Collins did agree to it, so much for being loyal?

Craig Cameron and Francis Jackson are questionable!

Hardwick, Grigg can not kick! What happened to the "players who can kick?"

Grigg should turn out better, but that's not the point

Grigg faster, stronger, collins smarter and perhaps more polish? Pound for pound pretty even for mine, both middle of the road mid rotation types - if the coaching dpt feel grigg suits their needs more then i'll accept it.

whats the Point ???... Grigg turns out better that is a win for us....Therefore why would richmond get player not as good as the one they swaped?

"Grigg should turn out better, but that's not the point" <- then what would be the point in trading collins for Grigg.. please explain?

reckon he feels, like a lot of ppl, that it was unecessary to give carlton a fair trade for a player who is out of contract and walked out on them

We should have been able to get Grigg and keep Collins, therefore it wouldn't matter who ended up better

But that is the only point Infamy.

Where these players are at "RIGHT NOW" is even stevens, both sides will do alright out of this trade, but to say one player is better than the other is pure folly because it just isn't true. The club did not cave as some are dramatising on this board, some of our supporters are over rating some of our players, which isn't unusual.

I agree with Rodger. The point is to get better as a football team not to let football politics, bitterness and hatred get in the way of improvement. Could we have handled negotiations better?? I don't know maybe but essentially i think this trade makes us a better team so for me at least it is a good trade.

I'm not sure how exactly we could have ensured we got Grigg, without doing this trade?

I am assuming he improves our list over Collins.

Which means what?
I read it as meaning Hardwick wants heavier bigger bodied players, where as Wallace wanted outside quick runners.  And he is willing to do 1 for 1 trades of equally ranked players to get this heavier bigger list that can play his style of game.

Its back to the Frawley era.  Hopefully these bigger players will be able to kick (Grigg ain't known for his kicking) unlike in the Frawley era and hopefully we keep to the game plan for more than 5 minutes into the game unlike the Frawley era.

All in all it seems to be a positive for me, getting a player who is more likely to be able stand up in the tackle and still dish off a pass.  The modern game is almost constant tackle ball, so players like Grigg should have an advantage of players like Collins.

About time we started to get bigger bodyed players.
If thats what the coach wants thats what he gets.
lets just stick with Hardwick all he way.

I think this is rubbish, Collins looks to have shown more in a less time.  Their overall stats are almost identical really so other than playing different possies I really thought we should of played a bit harder with Carlton, we held the cards.  Carlton have never done us any favors, pinched our picks through tanking and are salary cap cheats so lets not get all sentimental about playing nice with them.  They weren't concerned about upsetting Port or Collingwood when they ambushed Stevens in the PSD or WestCoast in the Judd deal.  This is a business in which you need to win Grandfinals and seek advantage.  We were systematically dismantled by Collingwood in the 80's and left with their dross, partly our own fault for paying for their crap...but our good players were pinched nonetheless.  We now have players knocking on our door! Let them come!
