How did we do?
-
If the Thursfield, Schammer, Houli deal went through, it would have been perfect.
-
Not enough action for me,
Why werent we dealing with Gold Coast like other teams (they realy wanted those future picks) ?
Why do we still have surplus med/tall backs including one that wanted out?
I also think deep throat might of had something down it. I am talking a frog guys, get you mind out of the gutter
4 for me

ok,
nothing much lost a few picks gained which is good for us. Bit dissapointed that we didnt go harder to get rid of 1 or 2 of thursfield, mcguane, moore.
But on the whole, low key is good for us, draft well and maybe get a decent sort in the psd, (not necessarily houli if there is something better).

Think we may have tried to discard a few of the players mentioned remember we came 15th a lot of players dont have much currency. A 7 for me for the week (hoping to pick up houli now in the psd) as we gained 2 more picks (even if we save the Blinga compo pick for future years) and upgraded a player with the Grigg trade. Also happy to be fairly low key and enjoy our draft picks.
-
depends on how you judge it I suppose.
for mine they did well taking into account what the club wanted to achieve.
Gained a bigger bodied mature player to help out in the midfield.
Did not give up early picks.
Overall improved our position in the draft.
Also did not accept unders for thursty or give too much for houli
Pass mark from me.

Needed to do more for mine especially get in some more draft picks. Average performance here from the footy department - 5/10 at best.
only got grigg - cost collins .... breakeven trade
tambling to adelaide was a win coz we got the compo pick
but if we want to compete with the GCS 3 or 4 years from now we needed to do more.
2 many dud players are still on our list. lets hope theres a 2nd massive cleanout soon.
Kids Kids and more Kids should be the catchcry over the next 2 drafts.
-
Got rid of two of the lightest players on the list. Overall I have no problem with this as our team has been too small and weak for last 15 years.
Both would have struggled to get a game ahead of farmer, nason, webberly, Taylor, Edwards, orielly, hicks , king, foley, Morton types
-
They're not magicians though Ramps. Big ask to expect to receive gold for crap in relation to the duds.
-
5/10 for mine. Nothing to get excited about but nothing to get bang your head about either.
Pros:
* Didn't stuff up lol.
* Kept our picks and gained a end of first round compo pick
* Now have picks 6, compo (~30), mid 30s, plus another two in the 50s.
Cons:
* Weren't able to offload a surplus tall defender.
* Grigg for Collins is a sideways trade for mine.
* Not able to upgrade a midrange pick we have. Not sure if we tried to trade the compo pick back to GC for one of their teen picks.
-
I voted 5.
We just won't know for another couple of years.
Depends on
- How Tambling goes at Adelaide
- How Collins grows at Carlton
- How good Grigg is
- How those draft picks we exchanged for Tambling pan out
In the end it may turn out a ten.

Any proof that we are not using the Compo Pick?

7 - from me.
Because we did not lose ANY DRAFT PICKS!
Gained two DRAFT PICKS!
Not to sure about Collins, was an "OK" player.
Grigg wanted to come.
Do agree with some people on here.
We should of got Grigg for nothing instead of giving in!
Tambling, good result. Question is do we use our Compo Pick this year?
Could of done better though ...
Thursfield ... wanted a trade, we did not get one.
Ramps is 200% correct on our "DUDS" ... we still have heaps that are worth nothing.
What I like to know Ramps is ... who do you consider a DUD?
I hope we get Houli in the PSD and not in the ND.
Just draft Young Cubs!

The pertinent point in that those duds are worth NOTHING, which means that is all you can expect in exchange for them.

You can delist a contracted player. You just have to pay them out their remaining salary. Craig Cameron said on trade week radio that we'd be holding onto our compo pick.
-
I think CC meant "not trading it" rather than bankin it.
Must use it in this draft as it is very strong.
-
id use it 2012

I would Esther keep thursfield than give him away for next to nothing like mckinnly and tarrent.
Hard to trade mcgaune, nahas, polo if no one wants them

Sums it up for me.
Really can't rate it until every thing is over after the PSD and we see what we give to get Houli and what we use PSD#2 for.
-
Hard to say. We'll probably delisting another 5-8 players from the senior/rookie lists. Have to see how Grigg turns out. If we delist Hislop, Mcmahon, Polo, Nahas, Roberts, Gilligan, Thomson then we are really dud free. Players such as Thursfield and Mcguane are far from duds which some fools in here make them out to be. Quality defenders who will only improve with another 5kg of bulk

I totally agree, some people on this forum delusional enough to think we would get a 2nd rounder for McGuane or Thursty. Like the Blues expecting that for Thornton or Fisher.
-
Not to upset with keeping Will, am really glad we tried to shop him around and had a go but... at least with Will we know what we are going to get. A solid defender that gives his all but is a bit light and hates when the footy is in his hands. Still, not the worst.
Hook into the pasta this summer Will and put on that extra weight you need to be able to push the big boys around.

Trade week report card
* Al Paton
* From: Herald Sun
* October 11, 2010
HOW did your club fare from trade week? See every deal here and instant analysis of all 17 teams at the trade table.
RICHMOND
Deal: Adelaide's first round compensation pick (for Nathan Bock) and pick 50 for Richard Tambling. Andrew Collins to Carlton for Shaun Grigg.
No deal: Couldn't get Bachar Houli deal done but will get him in the draft. Will Thursfield wanted out but no interest. Delisted Demon Brad Miller could join as a mature-age rookie.
We say: Not bad. Kept its draft picks and should get a couple of handy midfielders who can run and kick, which its needs. Collins showed a bit this year.
