Time for some non-trade talk as well and Cotchin is next up.
Trent played 17 games this year and missed out playing more due to his 4-week suspension for colliding into the back of Sam Wright in the loss to North in round 16. His best effort for the season was 27 disposals against Hawthorn in round 8. Cotch finished the year 12th in the AFL in both contested possessions and clearances in 2010.

How did we all rate Cotch's 2010?

Gave him a 6. Would have been a 7 i'd say if not for the suspension i'd say. Thought he struggled at times with some extra attention paid by taggers but looked brilliant in other games (in particular his game against the Hawks). Most importantly for me he looked the best physically i've seen him and gained that extra yard of pace that was missing when battling his injuries. Look forward to a big 2011 from Trent with a full pre season under his belt (no restricted training i would guess). Quality person and future captain of the club.

As the year progressed played better and better. The way he finished the year hopefully is a good sign for next year.

got better as the yr progressed and his fitness increased
he will have a break out year next yr

Cotch's stats also highlighted his change in role this year and the added midfield responsibility that was placed upon his shoulders in 2010. He went from averaging more marks and handballs in '08 & '09 to increased possessions, tackles and, in particular, kicks. This to me would suggest more time in and around packs rather than as a rotating wingman.
Great signs for the future.

Still has along way to go but the sign are good needs to play all 22 games next year.

I gave him 7.
He is a class above.
:pray If he has a full pre-season, look out! :pray

looks to be the most skilled footballer on our team, l see him as a Greg Williams type midfielder but with a bit more run. 7 for this year.

I gave trent a 6. His stats are just under 20 possessions a game..19.5 to be exact for 2010 (according to footywire: http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pp-richmond-tigers--trent-cotchin ). Which for a premium midfielder is not elite...yet.
I didnt think he hurt teams enough and that in my view his disposal efficiency is slightly low...
finally, getting rubbed out for 4 games out of 22 which is 18% of the season isnt wise...
having said that, he played from rd 1 to rd 22 ..looked to be getting better and better...
hopefully he can do a full preseason and show us all his real talent. It must have been hard being on a modified program last summer and all year.

If I am confident about anyone in the team of being a big performer it is Cotch.
Is going to start hurting sides badly with his ability and drive.
Lots of man love (not to be mistaken for the queer love between '65 and GG) for Cotch and Martin

don't knock it til you tried it, (unless you already tried it), Chuck lol
