Take it easy folks its just a training guernsy. I'm assuming it would be for match simulations and drills when they split into groups and it helps differentiate them. I'm sure nobody would buy the red one but I can see why it has been made.

Or

Maybe the red is for the clubs designated whipping boy at training. Have a bad game and you have to wear the red like a dunce hat. We could call it "McMahon Red"  :lol

The Richmond Football Club has announced an exciting new partnership with Australian-owned apparel brand KooGa.

For the next four years, KooGa will be the official on-field apparel partner of the Tigers.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with KooGa - a dynamic and progressive organisation which is passionate and innovative in the sports apparel industry,” said Richmond’s CEO Brendon Gale.

“KooGa have demonstrated a real commitment to working with our players and coaching staff to ensure we get the best products to meet their needs.  We have released a limited launch range today and look forward to unveiling further products to our members and supporters shortly.”

The KooGa brand is currently involved with several AFL and NRL clubs, as well as five national Rugby Union teams, including the Wallabies.

“We are very excited to be partnering with a big, traditional AFL club such as the Richmond Football Club, and we look forward to a rewarding, successful partnership in the coming years, with the Tigers on the rise,” KooGa CEO Tyron Brant said.

“KooGa set out to revolutionise the way contact football gear was made, inspired by its vision to not only create a better product, but to genuinely enhance the athletic performance of every player and every team that wears the KooGa brand,” Brant said.

Members and supporters can purchase the new 2011 KooGa products at Tiger Den online store (http://www.richmondfc.com.au/portals/63/richmond_shop.html) or by calling 9426 4419 early in 2011.

WHO IS KOOGA

Quality stuff IMHO. Koogas rugby stuff was always top notch, so I am hopeful that this will be good too.

The off-centre tiger head on the training jersey is a masterstroke, the previous incarnation looked very bland, but they've been able to add a bit of swirly noise to jazz it up.

I like the fact that our sash is straight, Essendons bows severely and their players look obese..

I'd like to think we could improve our alternative guernsey. The best change guernseys IMHO are Fremantle and Port, where the change jumper is the simple negative of the home jumper. When you try and go just a little away from the first strip (e.g. St Kilda, Essendon) , it ends up looking half-baked. When you try get too clever (e.g. Brisbane), it just looks silly. For me our alternative guernsey should be a white background with a half-yellow, half-black sash.

I'm not the greatest fan of the big tiger head on the guernsey although I know the Club sees it as a strong branding image for us. I'd prefer our logo underneath the would-be sponsor badge. Apart from that I really like design of the yellow and black NAB/training jumpers.

Take it easy folks its just a training guernsy. I'm assuming it would be for match simulations and drills when they split into groups and it helps differentiate them. I'm sure nobody would buy the red one but I can see why it has been made.
Exactly tiga. Better than having to waste time putting on flimsy little red or green singlets everytime there's a match-based drill at training.

Maybe the red is for the clubs designated whipping boy at training. Have a bad game and you have to wear the red like a dunce hat. We could call it "McMahon Red"  :lol
;D

Is that the red you have before or after the tomatoes are thrown? lol

I'd be much more enthusiastic if there was a major sponsor's logo on the jumpers

While a 4 year apparel deal is nice. it's the major sponsor(s) we need.

To be honest I hate the red even it is only a training jumper and don't mind the NAB cup jumper and am not to keen on the yellow one

No away Jumper?  :-[

We don't have and "away jumper", Nor should we

We have a clash strip that we wear against about 3 teams (Bombers, Port and  ??? ) It will be interesting to see if they change the clash one... I wouldn't be seeing the members voted for it  ;D

We might already have it and are simply delaying the announcements for continued coverage looking at the smudge on Kel Moores jersey.  :shh

No, not at all.  But surely if its what it looks like it can't be far away as the company/s would want to be all over our membership campaign.

Let's hope so TA. Luxbet wasn't signed on until Feb 5 when we were last searching for a major sponsor. Hopefully we aren't waiting anywhere near that long to find one :-\.

There's some inconsistent colour on McGuane's jumper where the logo would be too.

We must have a clash strip - as directed by the our close friend the Devil oops I mean AFL

how much is the sponsorship?

4 years no $$$ value leaked at this time  :rollin

and don't get too excited about an apparel sponsorship torch... it's not the really big $$$ we need

C'wood has the biggest apparel deal in the comp with addidas

I remember when the Dogs signed with KooGa this time last year the HUN reported it was worth around $400-$500k a year which seemed extreme.... but if it's true and we are around the same then that's good

They could've added yellow down the sides and on the shoulders but I prefer our logo in the top right corner rather than a big tiger head smacked on the front.

Credit where credit is due....

as I wasn't that keen in KooGa when we signed ieth them but.....

Kudos to the Club & KooGa on the members polo for 2011

First up the real thing looks a helluva lot better than the design pic does in the catalogue and what's on the web-site

I wore it yesterday to the Cricket - nice and light for summer  :thumbsup

Anyway I had a couple of people say to me "gee that's a good looking Richmond shirt great design"

And yep I agree it is a v-good design and it's v-good quality

Looking forward to seeing what all the other merch looks like when it finally comes in - especially the media polo

Well done RFC & Kooga  :gotigers

I was told the Tiger Den shop and staff are moving into their new quarters on the ground floor of the new facility next week.

Also the media polos with both major sponsors on them should be ready in a week or two. The Club will apparently send out an email when they are in stock.

Maybe sooner than that  ;D

I was there yesterday picking up my members jacket and was told they hoping some come in today (embrodery is being done as I type ;D) but if not today definitely next week  :thumbsup

And BTW over the weekend I will post a pic of what the members jacket actually looks like as opposed to that woeful sketch drawing that's on the members web-site

Last night they had a fair whack of KooGa stuff in

There were adults & kids jumpers (limited adult sizes rest in next week), the media polos (super impressive), the grey KooGa Hoodies, Coaches jackets

All of the stuff had all the sponsors logos

Not sure about the tracksuits - didn't see them

Balance of the range will be coming in over the next few weeks

Kudos to KooGa for the quick turn around and to Alex (Merch manager) who made the right call in getting stuff bought in without all the logos & then arranged the balance of the embroidery to be done here, hence why stuff is available to us a week after the Jeep deal was finalised  :clapping :clapping

I picked up a 2011 members cap at the new Tiger Den (Tigerland Superstore) before Friday night's game. After all these years they've finally made the cap a bigger size that fits my head   :thumbsup.

The place looked like it was doing a healthy trade as well as all three cash registers had queues.
