Who have been the Tiges best ever one game wonder performance?
I remember Justin Plapp kicking 6 goals or something like that against the Blues in 98 at the 'G. Only enhanced his cult following at the time.
-
i think that Plappy kicked 5 on Peter Dean.
I remember James White playing a game in the seniors and looking like an absolute gun.
Never showed much after that.
-
The two Terrys for mine
Terry Keays played a blinder in the Pre Season Cup as his first match at Arctic Park.
The mark was on the back of the Hun
Terry Wallaces first game against Essendon in the Richmond colours was a sight. Great game.
-
Bit harsh on Terry Keays, reckon he played more than one good game. I can remember him playing CHB against the Eagles at the G and getting 3 Brownlow votes. Keays could play footy !
he was well liked amongst the players . If rumours were right, The Flea and Andy Goodwin spent the night in the lock up along with his Dad at his bucks turn :shh
-
It's a while ago now, but I think Steven Jurica may have kicked about 5 goals against Essendon in the drawn game in 1995.
-
he kicked 5 on Silvangi didnt he ?
-
he kicked 5 on Silvangi didnt he ?
Both I think Life...must be a two game wonder... :lol
What about Justin Murphy as a Tiger? 5 Goals on debut, then about 1 goal 11 behinds in the next ten weeks... :banghead
-
Marty McGrath had a pretty stunning debut and just as stunning exit - 5 goals for memory.
-
yeah, against the dogs at the dome. Moi, the goals were give me,s Dont know your footy ability but even you could of "snagged" a couple that nite ;)
-
I somehow doubt it lol - although it was fun watching the two kids in Krak and Marty have a great time.
At least the kid has something to hang his hat on!
-
At one game last year I thought I saw Billy Nicholls in the stands eat 7 pies and 9 hotdogs. Cetainly left me wondering. ;)
Hopefully it's vague enough to avoid a defamation suit. :shh
-
Thats not a bad effort,7 pies and 9 hotdogs, BOG.
;)
Wait till WP reads this, lol
:lol
-
I saw Mark McQueen polish off a bowl of Ambrosia pudding (full of marshmallows and gunk lol) in one sitting.
Didn't call him the hulk for nothing me thinks!
-

He would have been taking one hell of a BOG after that effort.

Not only dropping his kids at the pool, all their mates too.

Ben Hollands kick from the boundary after the final siren winner against Freo at Subi. A one kick wonder lol.
Chris Pym - I can't remember if he played a couple of other good games but wasn't it he who ripped the Blues apart in 1988 (?).
-
Your right MT, didnt he wear 53 in the game ?Or was it 51 ? :banghead It was a friday night at the g.

My Huble apologies WP.
Actually I'm really interested to know the connection as nobody warned me about your strong bond with Bill....I was thinking you were a silent partner in his McDonalds franchise as JohnF told me he had one and I believe everything he says because of his unquestionable reputation! ;) ;D :rollin

Sorry Moi, I have to correct your correction....my original one is correct. ( I sound like the cat in the hat ;D)if you are going to assume tiga is agit in reverse then all words should be in reverse. Otherwise it would translate as "tiga and proud of it" instead of "agit and proud of it."

Free chinese food is the bond ;)

Yeah that's the game LGO. A huge upset. Number 51 pops into my head but I could be wrong.
-
Chris Pym - I can't remember if he played a couple of other good games but wasn't it he who ripped the Blues apart in 1988 (?).
This is Chris Pym's profile from the "Encyclopedia of AFL Footballers - Richmond"
Pym, Chris 1988-89, 24 games, 13 goals. Born 23 April 1966, 185cms, 85kgs. Ex Wycheproof-Narraport.
That's it, that's all :-\ :help :thumbsup
I remeber that game against the Blues on the Friday night - felt sorry for the kid when he did his knee - after that he was gone - don't think he played senior footy again. :-[
-
I could be mixing him up with someone else but IIRC is it Pym's photo towards the end of the RFC book "Tigerland" with a little spiel next to it saying he is one of the exciting young Tiger cubs coming through with a big future? ???.

Spot on MT - page 215 to be precise and it says under his pic ....
"Chris Pym building up in the gym ( ::)). Pym played some exceptional games in 1988 and is a player for the future"

So much for a young Matty Knights ???

LMAO @ the names in this thread.
I went to school and played a lot of footy with Terry Keays, his old man was a negative influence on him IMO.Always loved playing the superstar, but not the training, chasing, tackling ect.Super talented though!
I 'met' Chris Pyms girlfriend on holidays in Bali in 1991,she didn't appear to miss him too much :shh
I was wrapt when we picked up Stevan Jackson from WCE.....LMAO@ being majorly disappointed shortly afterwards!
-
Whenever anyone mentions Terry Keays I always think of the first time he played against his old side (Pies) at Victoria Park and being turned inside out by Daicos :(.
-
When Terry Keays was playing i was only a early teenager, but i do remember us playing against Fitzroy at Princess Park and him tearing them apart in the last qtr to help us to a win.
I think he ended up kicking about 5 goals, but i remember some of the BIG pack marks that he took that day. He could play when he wanted to.
-
Keays could play cricket as well . St Marys Uniting Cricket club ?
-
Jamie Elliot - what a waste.
So much hype about him and he eventually showed nothing. Was probably the skinniest and weakest player ever to don on the boots - weaker and thinner than Fiora.

Bundoora as far as I last knew.

SEN had Nick Jewell on their one game wonder segment. Now playing for St Kilda in district cricket.
Round 19, 1997 - 4 kicks, 1 HB, 1 mark against Freo at the WACA. Lost by 7 goals. One of Giesch's caretaker coach games.
Started on the bench after being told he was playing ahead of Holland 45 mins before the game. Giesch thought he was more mobile (mates think his the slowest bloke in the cricket side). Came on for Richo up forward (Richo gave the bench a huge spray lol). First contest Jewell tried to take a mark from behind and got wacked in the chin from a flying elbow and was concussed for 3-4 mins. Giesch sent the runner out to say good contest lol. Anyway was played on and off the bench and then dropped. Our reserves had the bye the following week so he didn't play footy for a few weeks. At the end of year TJ said keep the cricket up son lol. Smart dad as Nick was delisted.
