Brendon Goddard takes over from Gary Ablett as the most expensive player in SuperCoach

ST KILDA star Brendon Goddard has taken over from Gary Ablett as SuperCoach's most expensive player.

Goddard and Ablett both averaged 130 points a game last season, but Goddard's versatility has been rewarded with a price tag of $633,700 - almost $2000 more than the new Suns captain.

Collingwood star Dane Swan, at $617,300, is the only other player worth more than $600,000.

He is also the only Magpie in the top 10 most expensive players - the Saints and Cats have two players each.

SuperCoach will be bigger than ever in 2011 with a new team, Gold Coast, and new rules.

Among the changes:

- squads are up from 30 to 33 players, with an extra player on the bench in the forward line, midfield and defence

- coaches have 24 trades for the year, up from 20 last season

- private league matches start in Round 1

There are no private league games in the "multi-bye" weekends when three teams have the bye - Rounds 4-6, Round 16 and Round 19 - but player scores on those weekends still count towards the overall prize.

Prices are generally down across the board to accommodate three extra players in each squad within the same $10 million salary cap.

In other player news:

- Luke Hodge is available as a midfielder only this season, not a defender as in previous years

- Carlton's Bryce Gibbs and Tiger Brett Deledio are multi-position players who can be picked in the midfield or defence

- Docker Michael Barlow has been lumped with a huge $450,000 price rise from 12 months ago after his outstanding debut season

- Kangaroos big man Drew Petrie shapes as an early bargain, priced at $216,600 after missing much of last year with foot injuries

This season will also be the first to offer a premium stats package called SuperCoach Gold and a new game, SuperCoach Pro, that features a live draft.

yes public league- if you have a private league you must invite each competitor personally
