Title: Melbourne Floods
Post by: FNM on February 04, 2011, 08:35:18 PM
Anyone flooded? I'm on a hill so it rolls down the hill, but been so much of it has to be major flooding around the city.

Street was flooded but now OK

Backyard under water

Although BOM radar & warnings saying more heavy rains to hit within the hour

I am out west - never seen anything like it to be honest

Northern Suburbs where I am at relatively unscathed until about an hour ago.
Foxtel satellite was transmitting no signal when the rains where at their heaviest.
Can hear the thunder now too.

Backyard (lawn bit) completely under water

We are lucky our neighbours house has partly flooded - water in 1/3 of their place. Clean up is on

Can honestly say i have never seen anything like it here

Glad you dodged a bullet, WP, you were probably more on a slope like we are and our neighbours down the hill seem to every time cop the lot

Glad to here you and your house is okay WP.

Our old neighbour in Glenhuntly was just lucky as well. Water flooded the whole street and flooded her garage but luckily stopped just a fraction below the top step to her front door. She's lived there 40 years and it's never even got close to flooding before.

I also saw this pic on twitter of Windsor station on the Sandy line. Anyone on a platform waiting for a boat  :o
