Title: Hardwick's aftermatch media conference
Post by: one-eyed on March 05, 2011, 02:22:28 AM
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick said Farmer was in good form before suffering his heel injury in a marking contest.

''It was a shame to lose him, he fell awkwardly and we lost Mitch and then we lost Luke McGuane with a little bit of concussion as well.

''I thought Tyrone [Vickery] was one of our better players up forward, he looks damaging. We always knew from our point of view without Jack [Riewoldt] there we do struggle for secondary options.

''What we couldn't do is transition the ball well enough, with only something like 33 forward-50 entries for the night.''

Hardwick said McGuane would go through concussion tests before a decision on his availability for the Tigers' next NAB Challenge match to be played on Friday.

The intensity dropped off in the second half, with Hawthorn looking in far superior shape than the Tigers as round one looms.

"We were really, really poor in the first half," Hardwick admitted. "I thought we were really, really flat.

"We gave them a slight bake at half-time and I think they came out and showed a little bit.

"We've got a bit of work to do. We gave the ball back far too easily at times."

Im not reading to much into this game. I think hawks will be top 4 and be pushing for a place in grand final so Im not pencilling in a win against them this yes.
I also think we didnt play very good yesterday. Just one of thoughs days where the game didnt go right for us.
