we have not seen a tiger team play so hard and intimate the opposition since john northey coached us
last night the tigers were the hunters and we intimidated the aints and make them poo themselves with a team that has less games ave than the gold coast ffs!!!!
we drew yes, but only cos the umpires raped us again, but i am so proud at the way we are developing and how hard we went at it
hats off to the boys :clapping :clapping :clapping

The first Saints player that comes to mind is Farren 'I'm hearing footsteps' Ray lol. Even Batchelor in his 2nd game put Ray on his backside.
I thought our inside forward 50 pressure was much much better last night. Despite a couple of times where we let the ball get over the back, in the main we were able to build up pressure on the Saint defenders forcing them to kick to a pack contest from deep in the backline which played into our hands. While we are still a fair way off, our defensive team skills have definitely improved dramatically compared to last year. We've been able to keep the opposition to 66 & 67 points up to 3/4 time in the past two weeks and put ourselves in a winnable position. We've just got now work on reducing those lapses in concentration during games that cost us soft goals to the opposition and working on playing 4 quarters at that intensity as we are still having at least that one bad quarter that puts us on the back foot.

we just dont know or have the confidence to win yet but we will in time, one thing is for suere, dimma has us on the right track
only mistake for the night, mguane picked the wrong bloke, if u r gonna get suspended for 3-4 weeks, may as well send the tiprat to kindom come cos he is the biatch who always beats us

Were you the Tiger supporter on level 1 in the Ponsford stand yelling that out every time Nicky got the ball down that end :lol.

How about when the little twerp tried to give it to our cheer squad. When he missed the running shot about 5 mins later sheesh everyone gave it to him :rollin and then some more when he missed that final shot at the end.

next time we play the aints we will smash them

I agree. I think Dimma is instilling the fighting spirit of old. Never say die attitude and hardness. We still got a long way to go but there are great signs on Friday night.
Thank God the clubs are finally starting to figure out what can stop StKilda playing that negative style. We all hate it.

we'll win the next 14 against them
the worm has turned

I confess to alot if love at the moment for Nahas.
His spark, enthusiasm, run and carry I think it ignites the whole team. So far so good.

We drew as we could not kick a winning score. Should have been all over at 3/4 time. The umpires had nothing to do we it.

rubbish they missed so much and had a huge influence on the result, stop talking poo
they missed as much as us, if not more but thats the players fault
but the maggots failed to play holding the ball many times in our fwd line, they missed mitchs mark and the mguane issue
we got no effing reward for great tackles causing incorrect disposal
eff the umps
-
jake kings first goal came from a free paid because the aints player 'did not attempt to get rid of it' - he had two players holding an arm each while on the ground.
we got a number of deliberate OOB paid to us that often are not paid.
I think it was edwards scored a goal from a dodgy free paid to us.
we had them go our way and we had them against us, just like nearly every game of football played.
If the umpires were perfect..well, they probably wouldn't be umpires.
-
The attitude of the side the tackling and chasing was of a very high standard. The saints could not break tackles. Very good to watch Well done Richmond

Love - yep I loved his clangers ;D
-
As for Nahas, WP, even if you could forgive his multiple clabbers, he costs us in traffic when he gets brushed aside too easily. No physical presence because he is too small. A quick shove from an opponent and he is irrelevant to the contest.

Would totally agree. had the majority of play in the 3rd quarter and couldnt score. Game should of been over at 3/4 time
Also, its amazing how many people on this forum have little idea, or they just dont go to the games and watch the football

We had 75% in our F 50 in the 3rd quarter you dill.
If you want to blame the umpires, we lose, as the goal to Martin should have been disallowed as Morton pushed half the pack out, thus the ball went over the top and Martin goaled

c'mon jack, we kicked 2.4 in the first and 1.4 in the third. Surely it's the umps fault we didnt win?

Take the McGuane free kick out if it - the 2 things that cost us IMHO was a very soft goal the Saints got in the last qtr. The Blake one - as we had no one back guarding the space was a gimme one the got it over the top. And the Morton free for flying what seemed 5 minutes too early = costly
Also I the marks of Archer & the twirp Milne in the last 4 minutes were disappointing no pressure through the middle, saints were able to clear very easily unfortunately
the set shots missed by Cotch were telling too IMO - for the one people have annointed as our next captain he has to ice those.
But having said that I thought it was great effort by a very young side who could have easily dropped their collective heads after the first qtr but they didn't and we almost got a memorable win. Disappointed we dind't win but relieved we didn't lose ;D

Spot on X.
If we can play like this most weeks we would give the top 8 real shake up. Although being such a young team it will not happen each and every week. This game at least showed how good we can be, it will be a great year for the Tigers, i think we will see alot more games like this one from the boys. IT IS ALL GOOD.
