With this game being played at the same time as Richmond I wonder if RFC could video this game and make it available with the upstream play back? :pray

No way Conca or Nahas will line up for Coburg. A bit silly to include them there even though it's the norm to include all Richmond interchange players in the Coburg side.
Interesting to see if Big Ben plays a full game in the VFL ressies or say half in the VFL seniors. Provided his shoulders are okay and stand up to the rigors of footy then the sooner he can progress to the VFL seniors and get a few games under the belt to build up his match fitness the better.
I see Astbury has been named up forward and Postie in defence. It could be just how the team was listed or if not then we've reversed their roles from the start of the year.

I'm guessing this is the final 23 with the 5 on the bench. Hopefully Postie keeps his form up and Griffiths gets through another game unscathed.

You can add Houli to that too.

True Oiafi. Hopefully Houli tears up his old side next week.

Good to see Webbers and Gourdis in the best players.

Does anyone know how Derickx is progressing, during pre season he looked the goods but now you hardly see his name mentioned, is he playing injured or just finding the going tough after being out for a while.

I can't remember which member of our coaching staff said it but Derickx is still trying to regain full fitness after missing a few weeks in the late preseason. They are managing his gametime to build up his fitness again. He certainly hasn't done anything since returning to get excited about. Browne would be next in line after Gus.

Been reported a bit on here recently Lozza. Only just started playing this season after missing through an injury during the pre-season (heel I think it was). Has played 3 games now I think but hasn't done anything yet. Coach (Potter) mentioned he needed to work on getting his fitness back before we should expect anything decent from him.

Richmond-listed players Tom Hislop, Jeromey Webberley and David Gourdis were among Coburg’s best, with captain Nick Carnell, again the team’s leading goalkicker, booting three.
Coburg’s reserves recorded a 24-point win against North Ballarat, with highly-rated Richmond ‘tall’, Ben Griffiths, taking another step on his comeback trail, following a shoulder reconstruction, kicking two goals and being named as one of the team’s best.

The Coburg Report
richmondfc.com.au
Tue 17 May, 2011
Development coach, David Newett, provides a summary of how the Richmond-listed players performed at AFL level with Coburg in last Sunday’s clash with North Ballarat . . .
David Gourdis
Made a welcome return to form. Looked more comfortable back in his customary role deep in defence following a stint up forward. Spoiling and rebounding were highlights of his performance in the backline.
Andrew Browne
Not up to the high standards he has set for himself this season. But was still competitive and worked hard in his ruck battle with a quality, experienced opponent in Orren Stephenson.
Jeromey Webberley
Again was the most damaging Coburg player, whether rebounding from defence, or taking the ball inside 50. Was consistent right across the game, finishing with more than 30 possessions.
Jayden Post
Was used both in defence and attack. Had a relatively quiet game, although he took several strong marks when in the backline, to repel North Ballarat’s forward movements, and showed composure with the ball.
Robbie Hicks
Didn’t get a lot of the ball, but generally used his possessions to the team’s advantage.
Pat Contin
Played in defence and acquitted himself well, gathering 25 possessions. Won plenty of one-on-one duels and provided good rebound.
Mitch Morton
Was quiet throughout. Spent time forward and in the midfield, but had minimal impact on the game.
Tom Derickx
Played predominantly in the ruck throughout the game and, although not dominant, got involved in several offensive passages of play.
Tom Hislop
Backed up the form from his previous match with another solid performance in the midfield. Provided a strong contest at stoppages to take the ball inside 50, applied strong tackles, and used his possessions efficiently.
David Astbury
Spent time at both ends of the ground. Was solid in the first half, either defending or providing a contest when forward. Faded out of it in the second half.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ben Griffiths (Coburg reserves)
Had more involvements in his second game with the reserves. Again played in a number of positions and looked more confident as the match wore on. A long goal late in the game was a real highlight of his performance.
Dean MacDonald (Coburg reserves)
Another player returning from injury through the reserves. Kicked two goals and looked lively all game playing up forward.
Ben Jakobi (Coburg reserves)
Made his long-awaited return to the playing field after a lengthy injury lay-off. Was solid across half-back.
Nick Westhoff (Coburg reserves)
Had a quiet day. Battled to impact the game offensively, but it was pleasing that he continued to work hard on the defensive aspects.

Match Reports Vs. North Ballarat
Coburg website
SENIORS
We met North Ballarat on a cold day at Eureka Stadium.
Once again we got off to a slow start and the Roosters quickly had 4 goals on before we scored.
Overall it was a disappointing game, but had we kicked straighter the result may have been different or at least a little closer.
In the 2nd half we kicked 2.9 to 8.5, so we only had 2 less scoring shots.
Positives for the day was Ben Clifton who tagged dangerous player Myles Sewell for the first half then went onto Ryan McKenzie for the 2nd half and kept him quiet.
Tom Hislop was also another good player and his quick hands at getting the ball out at contests gave us some run.
Jeromey Webberley once again was serviceable running off half back and wing.
First gamer Glenn Grgic playing as the 23rd player, used his pace and got the ball into the 50m arc,but we did not capitalize on it.
Goals:Carnell 3, Clifton, Hislop, Grgic
DEVELOPMENT
It was good for the Development team to register another win.
The young boys are improving weekly and putting pressure on the senior team for promotion.
Tom Lucin came back into form playing on ball.Dylan Murphy was elusive around goals, and was ably support by his bother Kayne.
The margin should have been greater but due to inaccuracy around goals, and pressure from Nth Ballarat meant the margin was always around 3-4 goals throughout the game.
Tom Stephens at CHB shows he is coming along nicely and coming from a basketball background,he has quickly adapted to our game style.
Ben Griffiths safely got through the game and his 65 metre torpedo goal was a highlight.
Once again James Saville was superb at Full back and had 28 possessions and 17 rebound 50’s.
Goals: D.Murphy 3,Lynch 2,Macdonald 2,Griffiths 2,Lucin 2,Groves,Madden,Linton
